Some RentMen clients (such as myself) explain exactly what they're looking for. It saves time to just text someone a link.

Most do not, though. And I (like most clients, I'm guessing) only hire when I want to.

Personally, I'd like to hold online auctions. I post my general address and what I'm looking for, and send it out for bids. Lowest bid that I find attractive wins RFP!. :D

It’s more efficient for the client to contact the providers he’s interested in hiring. Ask about the specifics you want and let the provider confirm yes or no.

Posting as a client to something like doublelist yields a bunch of providers who you may or may not be interested in, and who may or may not actually be the best fit for your needs. It would also bring in interest from quite a few people who are not professionals, just people who want a free mutual interest hookup. It’s a lot of wasted time for all those people to read and respond, and for you to read and respond (or ignore). It’s also rife for scams, as if we don’t have enough of that on the proper platforms.

I recommend going directly to the source, using purpose built platforms and messaging directly to inquire about your needs. You weed through a lot of nonsense that way, for you, and for the provider.

There used to be such a site but I’m not sure if it still exists.  Potential providers and clients would each post what they were looking for along with a price range.  Usually the client would post what he was willing to spend and if someone was interested the two parties would negotiate the details.

If memory serves me correctly I believe it was a feature on the website Men4sexnow.com.  Not totally sure if that’s the website.  Haven’t logged on that site for YEARS.  😝

Men4Rentnow I believe was where it began.

Though I never understood Men4sex now? Was it supposed to be a free hookup app?

That said: I noticed a situation not long ago where it seemed like 2 clients met each other on one of the sites. Not trying to say it’s the worst thing but: can anyone attest to “clients” having inadvertently finding and hooking up with each other instead of booking a provider? lol.

Here is an old post discussing Men4RentNow. I’ve never heard of it.

You must be young.

I used the website and the feature that would allow you to post an open offer and wait for a response, but I never hired from Men4rentNow.

As pointed out, M4M4Sex was a hook up site. It was the first hook up website (this is before smartphones and apps) I ever joined, and I used to love it. Back in the 90s, I found many matches in my annual trips to NYC. It was 100% free until they started charging for the membership and its popularity plummeted.

I think thats a good idea! :) I have a few fetishes that are very specific; for instance I've met with guys who didn't feel comfortable with calling me a f*g/being super mean. It would be cool for something where I could post what I'm looking for and people who provide it can give it a thumbs up or something

It was indeed a feature on men4rentnow.com. I would respond to many of those client posts, but I don't think I ever once got hired from one. I'd get appointments from the regular channels where the client would contact me, but not when it was a client posting looking for a provider.

Men4rentnow had a long, miserable decline. Terrible, dated user interface. Terrible customer service. I think it also became quite expensive at the end, which was counter to its awful UI. It pretty much put itself out of business.

On rentmen it is really useful when clients include in their profile what they are looking for. I'm not sure if that's what @DrownedBoy is referring to, but it helps to get a sense of what they want. I check the client profiles of who contacts me, or asks to see my private pics, but very few have much on their profiles. I wish more guys would use that feature!

Craigslist Ads from clients is how I got into this work - RIP Craigslist I miss you!

Clients, I very much appreciate when your RM profile tells me exactly what you are looking for. Stats are not necessary but they help. You can change your text anytime and be specific about when/where you are looking for something.

So many of my clients and regulars began with me sending them a message first.

When I heard about Doublelist I was hoping the same thing could happen there, but apparently the police heavily for services or donations offered. Can't use words like "generous" but gentleman isn't flagged. Doesn't leave much room for us. Does anyone have experience with this on Doublelist?

Both my understanding and experience with Doublelist is that what is allowable/flagged is very regionally dependent  I can definitely say that I have reconnected with providers on DL that I found on CL. Prior knowledge, and identifying a provider with a pic I recognized, made it virtually seamless!

For "new" providers, word searches for "gen," "rub," "relax," and "oil" have proved fruitful for me. I can say, for the most part, I bring up the topic of cost first in an email exchange, but not always. If it wasn't evident, along with the above search terms, I assume providers ads will also have a pic/stats posted.

Thank you and  @nate_sf for talking about clients listing what they are looking for on RM. It seems really obvious now that you have both said it, but until now I really only viewed it as a forum for providers to tell about themselves.

As always, different people have different preferences, but my experience has led me to strongly agree with @NateSF and @IronMaus about the importance of what I include in my RM client profile. I often lean toward the kinkier side of the spectrum when I hire and I've found that trying to include both the specifics of my interests and some sense of my personality has led to my most satisfying encounters. Of course I don't mind being the person to initiate contact, but I do appreciate when a provider reaches out to me (there or here) because they read what I wrote and think we might be a good match. Those folks almost always turn out to be my most enjoyable encounters (including Maus 😄). I've had more than a few providers tell me that for one reason or another, they don't always list everything they're "into" in their listing, but were happy to talk with me about it after they read my profile.

men4rentnow was like rent.men, it shut down years ago, maybe during the FOSSA/SESTA crackdown?

I met a few great guys from men4rentnow. The few times I put myself out there asking for escorts I was bombarded with replies from guys who didn't live in my city. I started using it for amusement until it became boring.

Yes, it was a free hookup website, but they also had a "premium" membership. Although I can't remember what, the free membership restricted members from doing certain things. I met exactly one guy from there. Both of us tried it on a lark and ran into each other on the site.

I used to get occasional bookings from hour boy as well. I think both M4RN and HourBoy seemed to have just…actually, a quick type into the browser directs hour boy goes to mint boys. So I guess that explains it.

Do you or anyone else have luck from HB? I’m moving towards removing my Adam4Adam profile and moreso just doing MintBoys. City to city, I’m barely getting much from the site!

Even in San Diego, I had 3 “almost” clients from it, but all 3 were playing games in some way that made the booking to fall thru.

Interesting concept, but would providers have the time or inclination to go through client profiles and select people to contact?  It seems like that would be a lot of additional work without any guarantee of making a booking.

We occasionally have free time ;)

as a provider, the men4rentnow site used to have a place where clients could posted wanted ads. The site would send notifications to providers in the area so the helped too

I only ever got scams and the site just seems sketchy at mintboys.
