+ Axiom2001
Because of Covid and its variants during the past almost 2.5 years, I have not engaged the services of escorts or masseurs. During the past 4.5 months, I've had one massage for $200 and two escort experiences, both from my go-to-guy who's in San Francisco. Before Thanksgiving I arranged to see my go-to-guy, a guy who would ask for $250 per hour. For 1.5 hours I would give him $375 which I did not mind at all, for he always gave me a memorable time. Well, recently I've sought others; their going rate has been from $300 per hour upwards to $400 for one hour and the same rate for two, depending on the escort. Apparently, the days are over for any fun sessions being $200 and upwards to $275. Have others experienced similar requests from "seasoned escorts as well as from "newbies" in your area? I'm merely curious. [If this topic has been discussed previously, I chose not to do any searching. Respond or not.] Edited December 4, 2022 by Axiom2001 Danny-Darko

pubic_assistance
The dollar is worth about 20% less than it was in 2019. So $ 275 in 2019 now $ 330. Any smart provider will hedge a little and bump that up to $ 350. since inflation doesn't seem to be showing any signs of ending soon. + BenjaminNicholas, Midtownguy99 and Walt 2

Inflation from 2019 to 2022 has been 11.39 percent cumulative or 3. 6 average annually. Inflation prepandemic was very low and in the first 6 months of the pandemic deflation. So $275 is about $303 now. InChiTown, Asterisk, kyleham and 3 others 5
Kxev
I think these guys deserve the cost of living adjustment increase. I’m paying 350/hour + 250/hour and normally would negotiate. This is for Southern California rates. but these people have to live and value their service. I am obviously affected by inflation also - so its a matter of using the service less and its when i feel i can afford them. + Pensant
I could be persuaded to move from my standard $500 two-hour session to $600 for the right provider. dbar123

But it was just to confirm what I know. I run a business and I increase my list prices by the previous year's annual inflation rate each year. Being doing so since 2012 so I keep close track. pubic_assistance
I own a business too. Inflation for 2022 alone has been a steady 8 to 9 percent. My costs compared to pre-Covid years are up more than 20% in many cases. Your cumulative is off. I just looked it up myself. It's a little over 18% from beginning of 2019 to the end of 2022. Luv2play
I was only counting the last 3 years since 2019. Since 2022 is not yet finished current tables showing the last 12 months include the last 3 months of 2021 when inflation was running up. Look back at 2020. and you will see several months of deflation. It all adds up. That's why I adjust my prices in April when I know the final tally for the previous year. And my business is seasonal with most sales occuring over the spring and summer through fall. If you look at 2021 monthly inflation rates, you will see that that was the year when inflation got out of control, rising from 1.4 percent in January on a steady trajectory to over 7 percent in December. Which is close to what I said previously. Not $350 as someone else posited. Asterisk

So I was a little off in my calculation. Because the situation has been dynamic in the last 3 years, choosing the base month is important.
jtwalker
For whatever reason, any time I pay $350 I'm disappointed. The best providers seem to be in the $250-$300 range. Correct. 11% cumulative is ridiculous. It was nearly 9% for part of 2022 alone .

Agree with this. The fee for an escort in 2022 will vary drastically based on where they are located. The most I’ve paid for an escort has been $600 an hour and this was last year in NYC. This is not the norm. The range I have seen for the caliber of guys I like will range between $350-$500 an hour.
+ WestGuy
Interesting thread. handiacefailure
I have in the US. Escorts can choose what they want to charge and I can choose to hire them or not if I think the rates are too high. I had someone with no facepics quote me $800 an hour yesterday and that was just for a BDSM session and he had no equipement and I'd have to host in my hotel room. I chose not to respond LOL I hired a hot porn star in Paris and he only charged $300EU for a 90 minute session when I was there a couple months ago. Fortunately I travel overseas a lot Yukon21
