Welcome to the California Lottery website. It’s your ticket to full access! See jackpots, winning numbers, next draws, new games, and more.

Note that the odds of winning the California Super Lotto Plus is 1 in 42 million, and the jackpot is now $80 million, so actually not a bad idea to buy some tickets. The odds of winning today's Mega Millions jackpot of $1 billion are 1 in 302.6 million. Powerball odds are 1 in 292.2 million. If I had crazy money, I'd have my personal assistant make arrangements with fitness models for some hot threesomes, for which we'd be willing to pay some crazy sums.

I bought two tickets because why not.  Even though there is a greater chance of getting hit by lightning it’s a dollar and a dream lol

Well, plenty of people get hit by lightning, and buying more tickets won't increase your odds (of getting hit by lightning)... 😉

$997 million would be amazing, but I know I could live VERY well on much less than 1% of that.   I think it would be immensely pleasurable and fun to spend the rest of your life giving 99% of the jackpot away to those who need it even more - and maybe not have to hire security 24/7 as well.  If I didn't live so many hours from the border I would probably pop across and buy a ticket whenever the jackpot grew massive like that.

The already historic Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $1.55 billion after there was no big winner in Saturday night’s drawing, leaving the third largest prize in the game’s history still up for grabs.

If the jackpot is won in the next drawing on Monday, a lucky player would have the option to claim a $679.8 million cash prize before tax, according to Powerball’s website.

At least with regard to the answers here, I'm definitely in the minority .... I've never bought a single lottery ticket, I've never participated in the lottery..... party pooper maybe lol but then again the obvious tourist attraction of Las Vegas has never lured me in or appealed to me either.
For whatever it's worth, here in Southern California, I have a friend ( actually a friend of my fathers ) who won our state's lottery years ago ( yes, millions ) and the only thing that changed in his life is that he eradicated the mortgages of his immediate family members,  his own included. He didn't quit his job, he kept his old truck 🛻 and for him life really didn't change too much 😊 that's my "two cents" on lottery dreams and winnings @purplekow😉

State lotteries generally don't get that high before someone wins the prize. And the reality is a couple of million is enough to retire from an ordinary paying career, but it's not enough to sustain an expensive lifestyle indefinitely in the US...medical/elder care issues can easily burn through a lot of that very quickly. Think about it. Hiring an escort a day for an hour or two would run you over $100k per year. Using the 3% rule of withdrawal you'd want a bankroll pushing 3 million just to be able to do THAT in perpetuity. Then meals, lodging, travel...of course assuming you don't relocate to a country where the exchange rate is favorable. But then you wouldn't be home...
