Lottery Fever: Have you caught it? Who would be the first escort you would call?

The most I have ever won on the United Kingdom's main lottery game called LOTTO was £120 from entering a must be won draw where the £12 million jackpot was not won and so rolled down and shared between all pize winners thus boosting a £30 into a £110 win and then gettting two lucky dips (for getting two numbers correct) which generated an extra £10.

Mega Millions tickets are set to get more expensive next year. Lottery officials behind the game sold in 45 U.S. states announced Monday that it will cost $5 per play starting in April 2025, more than double the current cost of $2 a ticket.

"New and improved" Mega Millions game

The ticket price increase is part of a major overhaul designed to create even bigger jackpots for the game that has produced six billion-dollar wins since it began in 2002. The last ticket worth that much was a $1.13 billion-winner sold in New Jersey in March.

That's crazy! 😲

I read some of the changes to make it worth it but you're going to have it still be a tough sell to people who just casually will buy one ticket when it's a big jackpot to suddenly tell them that'll be $5 and not $2.

The price difference must factor in losing some players when the jackpot is lower but makes up the difference with many more people drawn to routinely higher jackpots. $5 and a dream.

But hey, at least you can afford the best lawyers! Live a little!! 😆

Considering that lotteries are taxes on the poor (the poor spend the highest percentage of their income on lottery tickets), anything that would discourage the poor from buying a ticket, including raising the price, is a good thing. 😊

I agree if that actually happens, if those with less means stop playing regularly. But if those who already can't afford to play still play because of a bigger attractive jackpot, then they are in a worse financial position.

I also support any measure that discourages the poor from buying lottery tickets, but I wonder if the jump to $5 results in the poor spending the same amount per month but just buying fewer tickets.

The thought of poor people "saving up" because the price of tickets went up 150% breaks my heart.  Yes, it's voluntary, certainly no one is forcing the poor to spend what little they have on the lottery, but I also think it's wrong for the government to exploit human vulnerability.

I tend to think of the lottery as a tax on people who aren’t great at math. That said, I have to admit, I do buy lottery tickets about once a week. I’m always impressed when I see people, folder in hand, spending $50 - $100 on tickets; it kind of makes me feel a little less guilty about spending a few bucks on one myself, LOL!

A well spoken colleague described playing the lottery as a cheap fantasy.  With that lottery ticket in hand you could fantasize what your life might become as a multimillionaire.   For $5, $10 or $20 you can enjoy imagining all the exciting things you would do.

Some people claim they would use the money for good.  OK!! 😉

But back to the OP, if you have a favorite provider you want to spend a chunk of $$ on, perhaps one you have a small crush, then as a newly super-rich guy what all might you plan to make that next hire memorable for the two of you.

I have a fantastic masseur who is such a sweet guy.   Perhaps I would come up with some kind of fantasy outcall, a massage at one of the best resorts in Southern Cal.  For all his efforts I'd include a nice big tip.  😃

I've heard once lottery is a tax on the poor. But one can't win unless they bet, right? I’ve met a couple of people who have won the lottery a couple of times and it blows my mind.

The guy in Altadena that won the $2 billion prize bought two large homes, an antique Porche and is hanging out with a glam insta- model.  That's a nice start!  When you think about it, 2 billion goes fast.  I hope he puts some aside.  🤣

Lump sum after taxes, Edwin Castro took home "only" $628.5 million.  Still a shit-ton of money, but a lot less than $2 billion.

Yes, he'll need to spend it wisely.  Money goes fast in LA.

His glam model girlfriend is also a poet!!!

Edwin's family sounds so sweet.  He was an Eagle Scout

The most foolish thing he did was let the press know who he was and what he won.

You can avoid that if you're smart.

Once your privacy is gone, it's tough to buy it back... Even when you're worth $700 million.

Unfortunately, that is not an option if you bought your ticket in California.  Apparently the state wants the public to know that real, everyday Joes (or Edwins) win those big jackpots.  From the CA Lottery website:

The California Lottery is subject to public disclosure laws that allow access to certain governmental records. Your full name, the name and location of the retailer who sold you the winning ticket, the date you won and the amount of your winnings, including your gross and net installment payments, are matters of public record and are subject to disclosure. The Lottery will not disclose any other personal or identifying information without your permission unless legally required to do so.

What sort of suggestions would you make for collecting the jackpot anonymously?  Not that I would ever win, but if I did, I would like to remain anonymous.  With $628M a person could live like a king on the $28M and its interest, and give away $100,000 to 6,000 different charities or organizations.  That would be a dream.

Indeed, you can even become a 419 without realising it

Who gets that first call. a regular or a wish list buy?

Getting back to the original question...

I've hired so rarely, that I don't have a particular wish list. But instead, I would travel to a city with lots of great choices (NY? LA? LV?) and set up an orgy with as many hot TOP guys as I could hire at the same time! I'd be the cumdump bottom.
