Palm Springs get together

Altho I haven't attended yet, in a nutshell I gather it's a bunch of us old farts hanging out with some of our favorite companions du jour in the salubrious surroundings of Palm Springs when the northern climes are just emerging from the rigours of winter.

In any event I have booked a visit for '23  and will check it out for myself😜.

When Lucky and I planned the first PS Weekend in 2005, we envisioned a social gathering of members of the old Hooboy site, including a group dinner at a restaurant and attendance at a performance at a local legitimate theater, for some high-toned intellectual conversation. The first gathering drew nine members and our spouses, plus one escort who was brought as a guest by one of the members. That model didn't last long, after Oliver came along and said, "Let's have a pool party! I'll provide the pool and the food." And thus a legendary event was born.

I had forgotten the original plan for the gathering put together by long time posters Lucky and Charlie. I date back to the Hooboy time but never really considered going to the annual event in those days.

I did meet Oliver back then when he was visiting Montreal one time so afterwards knew what type of event he hosted annually via this site and its precursers. It's nice that the originators of the annual ritual, if I can call it that, are still with us, indeed that I am too.

I hope we can get together in person next spring and am even prepared to have that "intellectual " conversation with them. That is if I am not too distracted by other things around the pool.

Almost everyone who came to the first Weekend was "local," i.e., a California resident. We didn't imagine that anyone would be interested in coming all the way from Canada just for conversation😊

Wondering based on past years is there an influx of escorts to Palm Springs for the annual get together other than those who are brought in by attendees?. Or is it just the locally based escorts who are available for out of state visitors?

No influx. Several providers come on their own and mingle with everybody else. Just two or three at most are guests of a client for the entire long weekend. Keep an eye on the various appropriate threads as April draws near for "I'll be there" posts by attendees

I went in 2021 and had a great time! It was my first time in Palm Springs and I treated it as a long weekend vacation from cold NYC. During the day some folks went for a hike or just stayed in their resorts. There's the Saturday night dinner and then Oliver's pool party. Lots of food and booze. When I went, I felt half the attendees were escorts and the other half were "us old farts" hehe jk (ok maybe it was 40/60 split). I'm not sure if there's an influx but I did notice that some folks had to leave the party early or arrived late due to appointments.

There is a main thread on the PS Weekend, which I was hoping the OP would read and there would be no need for yet another PS Weekend thread. There should be a focus somewhere.

Yes and I plan to go in April 2023 so if I'm lucky will get to sit next to you again!

Canyon Club has reopened, you might try there.  Reports are that it is still a sleazy dump, but that is part of its charm.
