Concerns with bringing escort to my condo

So I recently moved into my first condo. At first I was thinking it would be a great way to save on hotel expenses with escorts but now I'm concerned about staying confidential. I've never tried my hands with the buzzer system at the entrance to the building but my impression is that if you know someone's apartment number and dial that into the screen then it shows the name of the resident in that condo. You can obviously see why this would make me apprehensive about bringing an escort over. I'm wondering how other condo dwellers on here have dealt with that issue. Thanks!

I never been in that situation but I guess you can ask them to not display your name or display something else. Congrats on your new condo by the way

If you know the unit number you can find out someone's name on the console at the entrance just by dialing in the unit number. So theoretically, after a session an escort could go down the elevator and dial the unit number into the console and see the resident's name. I guess in calls just aren't an option if you live in a condo.

If you are that concerned about discretion (and I know that some people might have reasons to be more concerned about this), then don't have people over. I have personally never been that concerned about my identity being found out, but I have always been concerned about physical safety which is why I always meet a guy outside my building if I have never met him before. Not that it provides a guarantee of safety, but at least I know I'm not letting in more than one person and that the guy I'm allowing inside matches the photos I've seen and that he doesn't seem obviously wacko.

In some cases, you can request to remove your name completely and the screen shows blank or a dot ( . )

I would also think that YMMV as every building can have independent rules of management.

The callbox is the same where I live. The code displayed when you get to my name does not correspond to my unit number. Given that it's such a large building, there would be no way for someone to know which name was mine if I just gave them the three digit code to ring me unless they scrolled through hundreds of listings until they found my code.

How on earth will a doorman be able to distinguish between an escort and someone who's coming to give you an estimate on new kitchen counters?

 

For entry system buildings, you can normally just have the management put any name you want on the display. Or, if super concerned just tell your guest that the system is on the fritz and to please text you when they're close and you'll meet them in the lobby to let them in. Job done.

 

What's awkward is when you're visiting an escort at their place that has a door person who calls up to announce you. The Escort will need to give you their real name for the door attendant to find you on the call list. You can get along with asking "tell him Spider is here."
