I think this may be where we end up for a good while. If the vaccine is 2 years away but a treatment makes overcoming the virus less burdensome beforehand, those outside the high risk groups may take their chances.

Right now Remdisivir can make a 14 day battle an 11 day battle. No walk in the woods. If in a year or so, something makes the virus a a day or 2 ordeal, before a vaccine is effective, behaviors may change. In the meantime, those of us who are 39, in real or Jack Benny years, will prudently wait.

Honestly it has crossed my mind to go ahead and risk it....I miss that intimate touch. I know it's not worth dying over or even getting sick from because while we know a few things about this new disease, there is so much we don't know. I truly do feel bad for guys that can't afford to stop working in the business. It's probably one of the scariest things one can imagine, you gotta eat but you don't want to get sick or die just to put food on the table. I've reached out to my regular providers to see how their doing and I let them know to contact me if they need anything. One in particular worries me because he never replied back. Part of me wants to drop in to see if he's okay, but then again I'm a client not a close personal friend. I miss him the most, I felt like he shared some things with me that were very personal and we definitely enjoy our time together. I also let him push my boundries and he's the only one that I trust enough to do that. I truly hope he's okay.

I’m wavering at the moment and considering hiring this week. My impulse control issue has been a surprise, because I normally have more discipline about hiring, but there is an especially interesting guy passing through town. It’s been a while even before quarantine, and I’ve been very committed to social distancing. Rationalization...I know.

So, I decided not to hire. The hiatus seems to be affecting my vision, because most escorts don’t look that good to me now. Or maybe the excessive masturbation is causing blindness.

When this quarantine started, I stopped taking PrEP to save some money. I just started back taking Truvada... You do the math!

So I think I'm jumping back in this weekend. My regular is coming in from Montana. He lives in a very rural community that has seen very little COVID so I think he is pretty safe. First time he has been working since February.

 

For myself, I was finally able to get an antibody test and the presumed COVID I had in March is now almost for sure the real deal. The test has an accuracy of 99.8 percent. My antibody results came back positive so I likely have some temporary immunity to COVID, though of course I know that it won't necessarily last forever. I also haven't had symptoms or a fever for more than 7 weeks now and have gotten the clear from my doctor to even visit my parents. I explained this to my regular as accurately and honestly as possible so he understands the risks.

 

He is only reaching out to previous clients he trusts on this trip and I also am going to be his first client in Denver (though I think he may have one in Wyoming on the way down). It's a risk (probably more for him than me), but I feel okay spending time with a regular I consider to be close to a friend. We already established that the first thing we're going to do is each take a turn in the shower just to clean off anything and then after that we'll have some fun together.

 

Hopefully it all works out. I am glad I took a hiatus but am also glad to be getting back into this with a regular I truly trust and care for. A bit nervous but also excited.

Australian comedian Adam Hills, speaking on the British comedy news show he hosts (from his garage in Melbourne rather than the studio in London now) told of the experience where he drove up and the health worker's instructions were to lean back in the seat, hold onto the steering wheel and brace.

Free testing for all comers regardless of symptoms has been available in Tennessee since April 1. As of yesterday, 354,000 have been tested, 18,532 are positive, and 309 have died. Pretty impressive public health effort!
