Oh, but it is. They, and their employer can be held liable under dram shop laws.

As for the latter part of you sentence, time will tell.

I’m referring to a bartender who operated as normal and didn’t over-serve (which most don’t with the amount of times I’ve been asked, “let’s have a shot”, and that one can prove the person wasn’t drinking elsewhere prior to the time (many guys like to “barhop”, and “pre-game). You’re saying “can be”, I’m saying what I have actually seen.

And let’s step back from that example and reverse the roles. Let’s say the client is the one visiting the supermarket, picks up something, passes on to the escort, and he dies a week later. Would that make the client selfish and reckless? After all...who 1st initiated the contact?

From a few of your posts, I’ve noticed that your car has required a lot of repairs....... That’s strange as Infiniti’s are very good, reliable cars.

It’s not strange. “Reliable” refers to a car’s engine and transmission only. In that sense, even an occasionally neglected engine and transmission can and does make it past 250/300K.

But it doesn’t refer to brakes, stuff that happens when hitting potholes, and electrical parts which are nowadays always remanufactured. Ask me why there’s a repair shop on just about every corner...going back to what I was saying, parts have a mind of their own. One of my friends has a 2016 Lincoln Continental, and was recently quoted $1,800 because of an issue with the rear sunscreen. They’ve barely had it for a year.

Any car can be reliable if you just drive it from church/work and back. Any car can start having issues when you began to put it to extended use.

Sadly, it doesn't shock me at all. I've had a few buddies reach out to play after I started isolating myself at home 4 weeks ago.

It sounds like you are fortunate enough to be able to do so. And it sounds like you may live alone. So you may not be in a “Big Brother/Real World” reality show situation, with people you don’t get along with round the clock. But not everybody has that “luxury” (which is not truly, but it is a privilege in some ways). To stay at home, alone and not run out of resources in a span of 3 or 4 weeks. And that would likely include a good majority of escorts. I often use this guideline from pat experiences of when things get slow:

1 week without a client, not ideal, but I can get by. May need to take a proactive approach

2 weeks without a client: things start getting real tight. All ads need to be paid and updated. May need to travel

3 weeks without a client: now I’m behind on bills, and likely depleted financially. A long tour to a different city is necessary.

4 weeks without a client: Dire straights.

**And note, this is all assuming I’m not traveling. 1 week without a client when traveling, can quickly become like 4 weeks without a client, due to daily expenses. I’ve had that happen occasionally, and it’s not fun.

In my case: before this all broke loose, I was in Florida staying in hotels from the day of the SuperBowl in February (nobody in Kansas City was hiring that weekend, plus I had an overnight in Key West later in the week) to mid-March. Once the brunt of the pandemic was out, life still went on. I stayed for another 3 weeks even after the 1st case was reported in Florida, mainly because I had responsibilities that weren’t going to go away.

Hotels aren’t free. I still needed a place to stay, and a couple of people offered, but it was far from ideal, and one guy thought he could use my situation to be his personal servant/errand runner. Ah no ? ?. I have my own biz to tend to.

I see people online on Grindr and Scruff, but I think a lot of them are just chatting/trading pics out by me. The college boys have nowhere to go because their parents are always around, and the older guys seem more sensible. There are definitely fewer online, and many of them say explicitly in their profiles that they are not meeting until this is over.

There will always be stupid people but if most people are doing the right thing the curve still gets bent.

I'm late coming into this thread. A lot of people are condemning @Jarrod_Uncut for continuing to work. Jarrod defends himself by making a lot of analogies (which don't quite work, but I won't get into it) and by citing financial necessity (which I sympathize with).

The point I'd like to make is that plenty of people, already millions and tens of millions more to come, are in Jarrod's situation. Government assistance isn't enough for many to get by. Government protections (e.g., deferred student loan payments, bans on evictions) will help for the time being, but you still owe the money. Sure you can wag your finger & reprimand them for not saving more, but that doesn't change their current situation.

In other words, financial desperation is real and spreading like wildfire. Do I wish everyone would respect social distancing? Of course. But I won't judge anyone who breaks social distancing because they need to survive. These aren't a bunch of Florida spring-breakers.

The temptation for people to do this is underpinned by the comfortable middle class assumption that people have enough in the best of times to save anything. Not everyone does, and unless the person making the judgment knows the detailed circumstances of the person they are judging they really don't have any right to do so.

I was talking to my friend the other day, he told me his doorman was reporting guys who had “late night male visitors”. I never thought that people would be hooking up these days. Another friend told me they have a “no visitor” policy during the pandemic. I‘m on my building’s condo board, and we have never even thought about instituting this type of policy yet...believing that most residents would do the responsible thing. But, there are a lot of gays in this building. I just don‘t want any retribution... :)

I think the high-rise buildings here in Chicago all have rules about no guests (including family), no food delivery beyond the lobby, no cleaning ladies, no renovation work, etc. Their workout rooms, pools, and public areas all closed.

Makes sense to me.

My suburban Chicago condo building has the same restrictions, although guests are not prohibited, yet. Only others allowed past the lobby are for emergency repairs only.

I personally agree with many of your posts, and have a lot of respect for your opinion as a regular poster on this site, but I have to tell ya....

You are off base.

Displacing blatant sexual irresponsibility, by making comparisons of acts of free will is a very clever debating tactic, but in reality, it’s a weak attempt at excusing one’s careless behavior.

Having liquor stores open allows people to stay home, and have some type of relief from this stressful time.

However, practicing direct physical acts of “personal” services, is just about as blatantly careless, and selfish, as those spring breakers who partied all over Florida.

As we’re trying our best to practice social distancing, this is definitely NOT the time to use “sex positivity”, as a means of backing up ones “rights” to willingly spread a virus that there’s no cure for that’s killing people within DAYS.

The only acts of sex that should be promoted in the realm of “sex positivity”, and “sexual freedom” at this point is:

1.) masturbation

2.) virtual sex

3.) porn

4.) toys

5.) celibacy/abstinence

6.) Only fans

Please be safe, stay home and avoid contact with anyone.

I'm out in California. We instituted social distancing or lockdown or whatever you want to call it only about 48 hrs after New York did; yet our known rate and our death rate are vastly lower. Earlier infection from China? More spread out lifestyle? The data's not in yet; but I believe (Los Angeles Mayor move yesterday to extend until mid May notwithstanding) that California in general would be safe to move back towards 'normal' by the end of this month (April).

NY is a lot more packed together population wise, and during the workday it's even more so. There's really nothing else in the US that is comparable to the NYC subway in scale and terms of sheer numbers of people passing through the same low-air-circulation space. CA way more people exercise outdoors as opposed to in crowded gym, etc.

Definitely not many are hooking up now as compared before Covid. Luckily escorts still working (NY an exception) are not many. Millions of unemployed who worked in services (not only escorting) are now on the same boat, stopped working and cut on any unnecessary expenses, applied for Government assistance, moved to OF, JFF, or just any other job. Only God knows individual circumstances but not sure financial necessity is enough justification when there are lives at risk.

We live in a gated community on an island....There are signs clearly stating residents only ...The USPS and Amazon as well as USPS are allowed... Construction workers on renovations must check in with ID....

I never thought I’d agree with one of your posts, ever... but today, I do ☺️??

And I truly empathize with everyone out here trying to earn a living, during this pandemic disaster.

However, what made me give Jarrod the “side eye,” was the cavalier attitude of “Hey, if you are my client and you catch the Coronavirus from me, well that ain’t my problem...” I just think that’s shady as hell. ?

Had he said something along the lines of “look, I have bills to pay, and although I understand the risks, I’m trying my best to secure the week being of myself and my clients.” I would have given him less grief.

Um, how about simply replacing "gay men" with "people"? Last I checked, one either likes to cook or they don't, but it has nothing to do with what gender you sleep with.

There are a lot of gay stereotypes out there, those that have any validity don't apply broadly. I'm gay and I like to cook. That said, it's easy to default to applying them without intending any judgment, it's just a bit lazy. For those who don't want to cook, either at all or once in a while, the government here is telling people to buy take-away food.

As I've mentioned before, one element of the government's wage support is directed at helping those businesses stay open.

Any knowledge of how Hollywood Blvd was mid March? To my knowledge DC, Chicago, and LA too started talking about closing bars and restaurants at the early start of closures and that idea started to spread. I know NYC followed at least a day or two after DC in dining room/bar closures, as I traveled between both cities at that time. I was shocked seeing Spiderman and a few others still trying to get pictures taken around Times Square while I was there. Makes me wonder about the LA equivalent on the Walk of Fame

I am indifferent about cooking currently. I can cook, just not stove top rice. ?But that side has to be pulled out of me. Definitely can cook a mean breakfast tho, especially after a night full of working up an appetite ?

Sorry you’re indifferent about “cocking” it’s much fun ?

Buy yourself a decent rice cooker - I like the Zojirushi models. One of my favorite small appliances, my model has a steel cut oatmeal setting which is nice!

Lol haha need to edit. Cocking...that's a entirely different matter?... Since it's just myself I just go for the steamer bags from freezer section instead of a rice cooker. Just annoying on me and amazement for others, especially 2 clients in particular who have cooked rice on the stove with a regular pot and lid in front of me while I entertain them with my stories of burnt rice or rice mush lol
