They're back again.  Hot Asian guys looking for love (and your money).  I don't block them right away anymore.  I like to knock them off script and see how they react.  On script they can be eloquent.  Off script they struggle.  I send them faceless nudes and ask for theirs.  Keep talking about sex and make them uncomfortable.   Then I report the profile.
I obviously have too much time on my hands.

    Hornet too.
With respect to the bank manager asking questions, my best friend's BF is a manager at Macy's. Any time someone comes in to buy lots of gift cards they get asked questions about scammers as well. I think it's generally a good thing that these businesses ask about these sorts of things since so many people are getting scammed so badly.
My mom's phone used to ring off the hook all day long with various scams until my brother changed her number and made sure it was finally an unlisted number. Since then the calls have totally stopped. So many scams. There are several YT channels of vigilantes that go after these scammers but they can only make a small dent. Most of them seem to be based in India but there have also been many stories recently about people who are essentially trafficked into being scammers in Cambodia. I think they are able to prey on lonely or unsophisticated people mainly. But even people who are otherwise smart can be taken in. These people practice their crimes all day every day so they get pretty good at it.

I have been in San Francisco since Friday. Have seen quite a number of homeless and signs of neglect, but have not felt unsafe at any time. Mainly using BART to get around - have seen more homeless/panhandling on NYC subway and platforms than here in San Fransisco. I don’t want to travel through SFO without TSA pre-check though - the lines appear to be very long, getting through security checks.  Glad to be back in San Fran; I’ve missed this place - may get a touristy tshirt to celebrate!! 😊

@jtwalker  since you're in San Jose, head south instead of north in a car for sightseeing.....Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur and all that......not that I'm a 'fraidy cat with city driving, but it just may not be worth the stress, traffic, parking fee, unfamiliarity to drive into the city (plus it's 50 miles from San Jose)......take BART or the train into the city, then walk or take a bus/cable car to see the primary city sights.....just my thought......

San Francisco, as well as California, has become a convenient punching bag for the media, and it's becoming really annoying. It has its urban problems, like most big cities, and it suffered badly during the covid lockdowns, like most big cities. And yet it attracts a disproportionate amount of scorn from the media, which often has a different bone to pick and uses SF to illustrate whatever point it wants to make.
So cranky rant aside, I'm glad the OP has thought to ask, rather than just rely on what the media reports. Yes there are indeed homeless, but I've never had a problem with them and I've lived here 25 years. The Tenderloin is gritty and depressing, but also has those cool things that the rosy summary @azdr0710 cited. Great American is one of my favorite places to see shows. But also add 6th Street between Market and Howard to the list, that place is grim and is classic skid row. I used to live a half-block away from there, and though I never had any safety problems, it was a bit much to take in.
Things got quiet and miserable during the covid lockdowns, but now the city's neighborhoods have bounced back. The Castro is vibrant, and the "parklets" (sidewalk dining) that were introduced during covid have mostly remained so there are a lot of people out and about. There are still too many vacant storefonts in the Castro, but that predates the pandemic and doesn't take away from things.
Recently I've been to a couple of restaurants on Union Street and in the Marina, and while I have tended to not considered those areas my scene, I was impressed how vibrant the areas are and how much fun it was. SF is a city of neighborhoods, but unfortunately so many of the hotels are located downtown so not everyone gets to experience that. A friend just visited and stayed at Parker Guest House, near Dolores Park, and had a great time. We went to a cafe next to Duboce Park, ate at my favorite breakfast place in Dogpatch, and had fun dancing at a club on 11th Street.
I've lived here since 1998, and had been coming to the City for years before that. It has indeed changed, and I still think my favorite time here was the 90s. But I was younger then, and like any dynamic city things keep changing. There are things I miss from years gone by, but other cool new things appear as well. I'll admit I'm biased and like it here despite its flaws.

The way there is likely to be evidence that it is not happening is if the authorities had considered it and rejected it. If it's just a rumour that 'someone heard' and passed on there won't be contrary evidence. The burden of proof is on those claiming that something is happening.

RENTMASSEUR.COM View my profile on RentMasseur.com It was a pretty disappointing massage.  I went ahead and went for the 4 handed massage with his twin; what a mistake.  The twin spent, no joke, 20 minutes of the hour on my right calf and foot.  Barely massaged anywhere else.  What could have been a very sensual experience was a fully clothed, less than mediocre massage.  And typically when masseurs come to town, they get at least a semi decent hotel room - this was at a sketchy motel where I was concerned about my car the whole time - and it was daytime.  I’d definitely look elsewhere.

I’m sorry this happened to you.  but, tbh - you got off easy.
That “masseur” has no reviews and it’s basically hiring an unknown person who has already confessed to having a drug problem, meaning he missed your first appointment because of “partying”.  You’re lucky he didn’t cause you any bodily harm or steal other stuff that would be harder to replace.
Every time we hire it’s a risky proposition.  My thinking is to try to minimize the chances for something to go wrong and at a minimum, the hires need to have a few recent 5star reviews.  It’s not an exact science and plenty could go wrong - but, it’s less likely.  I also have a hard no policy with any drug use mentioned in profile or indicated at any point in communication - that’s just asking for trouble.
The police are not an option.  You’re hiring someone to do something technically illegal.

This, at least, is untrue. Onlyfans implemented a very thorough and rigorous consent form policy to prohibit exactly this. Everyone in an Onlyfans video has to provide a copy of their ID, a photo and a signed consent form (I think even detailing which specific video they're giving consent for). The only exception to this is if the person in the video is already registered as a creator with Onlyfans with an account of their own.

If anyone requests private pics of me on Adam4Adam I share freely. 95% of those do not display any sort of pic on their profile. I don’t mind. It means they’re interested and already engaging me in some way. It’s great marketing!
Regarding private galleries, Rentmasseur is even better. It means someone is considering hiring your services. It’s a good thing. So what if they don’t book? Not everyone likes what they see (shocking!), and isn’t that kind of the point? To see if the man physically appeals to you?
Often clients are on the fence or waiting until the right time, or planning a trip. Any number of good reasons apply. You never know. Even if it’s just a lookie-loo, who cares? More views = more clients considering hiring. Never a bad thing in my IMO.

Gave this place a try when I was in PS a bit ago. It's in a two story strip mall/office complex, pretty easy to find and easy to park. The spa itself is in what use to be an office so it had an office feel but clean and nice. There were (I believe) 2 massage rooms, one table shower room, bathroom with shower and an office room. I called a couple hours in advance and just played masseur-roulette (booked by the time and not the person). I ended up getting 'Mike' (there's always a Mike) who is Asian, quite cute, 5;8ish and probably early 30s. I did see TaiChiBoy (see above) on my way in who was smiley and friendly.
I booked a table shower (cuz it was in the 90s in Palm Springs and I had been on the road most of the day) and a massage. Oddly, Mike did the massage first. I did hear voice in the next room so I assume the shower room was busy, but whatever. The massage was ummm.. adequate. Not bad, not great. Mike did wear plastic slide shoes that were probably too big for him and he sorta clomped around the table. Also he either had a bad headcold or raging allergies (I hope) as he was VERY congested and left the room 3 times to blow his nose. Completely circumstantial but getting a massage from a congested, clomping horse was not the most serene session I've had.
Then the table shower, which is in a very nice room and is a nice set up. HOWEVER the room is very brightly lit and when you're laying down you're looking right into the lights. The table is not on a slant and water pooled quickly which he used his hand to squeegee off several time when I was face up and then when I was face down, my face was in a pool of used shower water and bubbles. Also the A/C blows directly on the table and I started shivering. I did mention it but likely the building controls the A/C and not much he could do.
Overall I would go back, skip the table shower, and try a different guy. I think my experience was just a not great roll of the dice but they guys and place has potential.
