As someone also newer to hiring, every experience is going to be different, but I think your best bet is going with guys who have been solidly reviewed with the personality attributes you're looking for. If you want the BFE, you're going to want to find a guy who multiple others have noted as giving it. Also, be upfront about what you want.
Like you said, providers aren't mind readers. Not everyone is looking for romance in a session so that may not be something they offer without you asking

In many states, it's also illegal to record someone where they would have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
Certainly many apartments probably have Ring cameras and other outside surveillance and definitely the owner of an apartment could probably record you entering or exiting the apartment. But filming inside the apartment would very likely violate AirBnB rules and may be illegal.
Hotels almost certainly record whoever enters and exits their building as well. I'm not really sure that I buy that one is inherently more risky privacy-wise than the other.

Strict rule, never contact the client to initiate a meeting. I’ve never done it and never would. It’s intrusive. 
He’s really trying it on especially by proposing to charge and even more so by then offering a discount! I’d go back and say to him, ‘ok but this time you pay me’ and quote him the amount he charged you. That’s tongue in cheek of course, but it would be fun just to see his reaction. 
I bet if you did go back, on whatever arrangement, the session wouldn’t be as good because his proposal will have soured things. What a shame he reacted like he did because I guess you’d probably have booked another session sometime.

Why did you respond to the bf's inquiries? There's an implicit agreement between an escort and the client to respect each other's privacy. How would you feel if the escort began making inquiries to your friends and family about your private affairs with escorts?

I’d say there’s some serious issues in that relationship if the boyfriend is scouring his partner’s search history in the first place. Not defending the escort for keeping the secret but from the boyfriend’s behavior contacting reviewers and such is a sign of instability for me. Will this scorned boyfriend tell all their friends? Will he expose the escort to his family or employer? Will the escort come home one day and find a rabbit in a stew pot?
 
I’d be more inclined to remain in touch with the escort, especially if the sessions were good. I would not have confirmed any details to the boyfriend and ignored the inquiry.
