I have been hiring providers for well over 30 years.  (since barely out of my teens!  LOL  JK)
But since my late 20's. I've never asked for a discount.  I have said No when I thought the rate was too high and not competitive.  I have had providers offer to lower their price.  I have always made it clear when they've offered that I was not trying to get a lower  rate.  It's a business and they can charge what they want.  Their rate is just too high for me.  Period.
Sometimes they insist that they are fine with a lower rate and we see each other. It may be when finances are tighter than usual for them.  When we do meet I usually tip.  I hope  they know the tip is because I appreciate them accommodating me and not because it means I would have paid their original, higher rate.
I have found that a provider needs to be competitive with rates.  In my years of hiring I have never met a provider who is worth 2-3 times the going rate.  That just usually means they are full of themselves.  If the experience is disappointing for me I obviously pay their rate.  If it's a stellar experience for me and they send me over the moon I tip generously and hire them again.

The right to free speech and acts of physical violence are two completely separate things. They are often confused and it can easily lead to unfortunate outcomes. In the above scenario, you’d be spending a lot more time in jail and paying a much bigger penalty than the mouthy homophobe/racist. Not because of "systematic homophobia/racism in our justice system", but because you didn’t understand the basic difference between actions and words.
In my world, you can say whatever you want. But touch me?…and you’re gonna get fucked up.

I've done some market research for my trip to NYC later this week.  I reached out to 15 men on my RentMen "Buddy List" that live in New York City, all of them recommendations from experiences shared on Company of Men.
    Here is how they responded:
    $250/hr - 1 response
    $300/hr  - 5 responses
    $350/hr - 4 responses
    $400/hr - 3 responses
    $500/hr - 1 response
All rates are for outcalls and for bareback.
Because I will only be in NYC for 2 weeks and still want to have fun outside my hotel room at shows, museums, bars, sex clubs, etc., I'm only going to hire 2-4 men.  Because all of the men on my "Buddy List" are sexy and recommended, the tie breaker for me will be the price, so I will be hiring the $250/$300/$350 per hour escorts.
Plus I will see a massuer I saw on my last visit who fucked me and charges $260 for 90 minutes and gives a great massage.

Just stumbled on this one today. It’s a small study of Chinese gay men who are primarily tops, but if the numbers hold up it’s damn impressive. After one year, no one in the circumcision group got HIV while about 4% of the control group did.
Previous studies have shown about a 50% reduction in HIV transmission in heterosexual African males following circumcision. So I wouldn’t expect the "zero transmission" rate to hold up in larger studies, nonetheless it appears to have an effect.

    Circumcision for HIV Prevention
Gao Y et al. Ann Intern Med 2024 May 28
Among men who have sex with men in China, voluntary medical circumcision reduced risk for HIV infection.
The intervention was highly effective: No HIV seroconversions occurred among 124 men receiving circumcision at study entry, and 5 HIV seroconversions occurred among 123 men in the control group (P=0.025). No between-group differences in risk for other sexually transmitted infections (HSV-2, syphilis, and penile HPV) were noted.

Just to add on, HIV remains rampant and often untreated in Africa.

Considering there's a huge influx of property being sold right now in PS, I'd start there.
Since the Airbnb ban, a ton of owners are now racing to sell.  There's a plethora of stock at decent prices.

Basing your entire business model on a "few bad apples", is an incredibly bad idea.
For the record, I’m not talking to @Jarrod_Uncut, whom I know will disagree and ignore my advice. I’m talking to @Tony_tx, for whom I have a great deal of sympathy. We’ve all been there. Chalk it up as a learning lesson. Think about ways you can avoid a similar situation, without harming your overall business plan.

re; “rape”, sending someone to “collect” the unpaid fee & driving 10 hours for an appointment - none of these ideas or actions make sense in context of the simple act of hiring a provider
once you’ve been scammed by either provider or client - chalk it up to a learning experience & don’t do the same thing again. if you lost $200-$400 then you got off easy
the vast majority of appointments & transactions happen without any trouble at all.  don’t make it complicated unless you want a complicated situation

Early on, I was hired to go to events (weddings, group vacations, company retreats, etc) with clients as their plus-one, usually 'boyfriend'
It's just a part of the business.  Some of them turned into long term clients, some not.
We're sometimes asked to 'play a role,' and I'm fine with that.

Bozo was in attendance. It was Bozo's first BuffDaddy's event in many years.
Bozo arrived around 8:30. There were already a few dancers mulling about.  There were nice comfy sofas throughout the place, and thankfully no loud music blasting. The music was soft, 70's and 80's pop. Quite refreshing.
There was a nice assortment of sexy guys of all shapes and sizes - White, Black, Latin, blonde, brunette, twinks, and muscleboys. All of the boys that were announced in BD's promo e-mail, except one, showed up. They were well-mannered, None were aggressive or pushy.
The $60 admission fee included unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
BuffDaddy worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Tonight BD acted as doorman, greeter, cashier, bartender, and social director.
The event was "chill" and laid back - very enjoyable!
It is important that our community support events like this that are gay owned and operated.
Thanks BD for finding time tonight to chat with Bozo and also for your efforts in making events like this possible for us Gothamites.
@JckBNimble, hope this report is adequate.
