RobPA reacted to Minneapolis in Puerto Vallarta in January
Flew in to PV a couple of days ago.  I have been meaning to come here for a couple of years now.  A fun couple I stoked up a conversation while in Montreal said this place tops Canada for strippers.  It may be a tie😜
I will preface this with the culture here is all about tipping.  There are tip jars everywhere and that’s how many make their money.  That said, be ready to be overwhelmed at first for dancers asking you for a tips for just coming up to you and saying hello.
    Let’s get started:
The first three clubs are right next to each other.  So you can go in and out.  No cover.  They are on the street with all the major gay nightclubs.  Some of these have beautiful go go boys as well.
Club 69 - my favorite so far.  It is a two level with an upstairs balcony area that surrounds the club so you can watch the dancers below.  There’s seating along the wall to the right as you enter.  There is a host that greets you and asks you what you want to drink. I sat down down on the couch area.  Immediately there are dancers coming up to you greeting you, asking you if you want a private, etc.  and then ask you for a tip.  Just for talking with them for 30 seconds.  It took me awhile to get use to it, but I eventually did.  Most of the dancers were muscular.  Some smooth chest, so hairy.  A good mix. A couple of them were really good on the pole.  One dancer who looks like Jack from the White Lotus did an amazing pole dance. Another patron saw  him the next day with his girlfriend at the beach. 💔 So the dancers perform on stage and then go around for tips.  The rest of the time dancers are talking up customers for privates and tips.  I will back tonight for a couple of the dancers.

Wet Bar - Similar vibe, but much smaller bar, but brighter.  It has an 80’s feel to it.  Dancers are similar to Club 69, but more agreesive.  Again, just hold your ground and say no thanks.  Most of them understand at least some english, so it isn’t too hard to talk.I did a private with someone who looked like Timotheé Chalamet.  Only more muscular.  This is where the privates differ from Canada.  You pay for the room $500 pesos (about $25 US) for ten minutes. The dancer gets naked and you can touch him around the body, but nothing sexual.  If you give the dancer another $500 pesos, then you get to interact more like a lap dance.  I did have fun teaching him some lap dance moves like breathing into the customers ear and talking dirty while playing with him.   Again there are prices for everything.  They are open to receiving blowjobs, but they won’t give a blowjob without a condom.  They will ask if you prefer to suck cock or eat ass—which I found to be a little amusing.  Hot guys and prices similar to Canada.
Pervert - you have to walk upstairs to get to the club.  I walked in and was the ONLY customer.  I felt like a lamb that just walked into the wolves den. Of course, I was immediately greeted by 10 guys asking for a dance.  Wow!  I got a drink and had a nice lap dance with a cute guy.  Paid the host the fee.  This wasn’t even a private, but I’m fine with PDA.  I left after this dance.  I’m sure it’s fun once it fills with customers, just don’t be the first one at 10pm.
Antropology - Big disappointment.  Went in and very aggressive dancers. Not attractive by the other stripclub standards. These guys have seen better days. There were only 2 dancers I even considered.  One was beautiful.  He stuck out like a rose among thorns. Another was in his early 40’s.  Looked like a younger Armand Assante.  Didn’t stay long enough to have a dance.  Might go at midnight with more crowds. There is supposedly a sex show late at night but I didn’t stay around for it.
Still have one night left. The city is beautiful and the climate is perfect. Even without the clubs, this is a great city to visit when you need to get away from the cold.

I’ll post more later.  If anyone has suggestions or wants me to check another place out, let me know.  I can’t promise, but I’m always looking for suggestions.

I doubt men are objectively getting better looking, but your reaction is changing.
Watch an old TV show or movie and notice how men you didn't find particularly attractive when you were younger look quite handsome to your older mind.

Isn't it ironic that this post was made in The Lounge?  That's the point of the lounge!   New topics that don't neatly fit another category start here.  I believe Monkey Pox discussion started in The Lounge before it became a hot topic and moved to Men's Health.

What is gay men's favorite flower to plant with their hot shirtless gardener?  I don't know where else to ask that question but The Lounge

RobPA reacted to maninsoma in A day in the life of an only fans shoot
For some Only Fans creators, it is all about the tease and not delivering the goods.  Just last week YouTube recommended that I watch a video of some guy who auditioned for American Idol wearing only a speedo earlier this year.  I watched the video, thought the guy was hot and funny, and watched many more of his videos on YouTube.  Through those I learned that while he doesn't want to label himself sexually, most of his sexual experiences have been with women (and of the contacts with men, I get the impression that he wasn't so much motivated to have the experience as he was manipulated by a photographer or something).  He hangs out regularly with another guy who also presents himself as sexually fluid but who, went he gets into details, clearly is much more straight than gay.  I watched someone review the first guy's Only Fans channel (one of those "I subscribed to XXX so you don't have to" videos) and learned that the page is mostly about teasing.  Some nudity, but not much full frontal.  Lots of homoerotic teasing but no actual sex.  Thanks, but no thanks, is my response.
When a guy who is a "creator" says something like needing to take time to figure out what their fans want, I call bullshit.  Their fans want to see them naked and want to see them fuck.  Maybe some guys really do just want to watch hot guys hang out naked or nearly naked, but I'm sure most guys actually want to see sex.  If you don't want to deliver that, then I'm sure it DOES take time to think about how much titillating content you need to have to attract and maintain enough subscribers to make money, and maybe how to advance the content slowly towards more explicit content to keep thirsty fans hanging on hoping they will finally get what they want.  I guess there is a market for this stuff or there wouldn't be so many people doing it, but I just don't get the appeal of very soft core porn.

Not connected at all.  The Q, T, I, A, + activists of this 'alphabet soup' have appropriated the group for their mission.  Their tactics have created divisiveness and resentment within our community and brought criticism from those outside of it. They've done everything but practice the philosophy of inclusion, acceptance, and tolerance, such as when they banned gay LEO groups from marching in pride parades.  Gay men, lesbians, and bisexuals, especially those in their mid to senior years, are the people who fought to get us where we are today and they've been relegated to the back of the gay bus.

I think I've seen one poster who has posted those he ignores in his signature......apparently deliberately and not the result of forum software....again, way too serious!

    OPINION By Paula Froelich

While much of the United States is on lockdown, scared or bored out of their wits, broke and newly unemployed, many celebrities, TV personalities and “influencers” are behaving like Nero, fiddling while Rome burned.

The hordes of the entitled aren’t quite sure how to behave. Everything has changed. How will they be aspirational? How can they show America that they too are in pain, struggling and therefore relatable/likable? Many of them have dug deep into their shallow psyches and bravely tried to show us their burden either via their own television shows or social media channels to get their daily dose of crowd-sourced dopamine. And it’s … horrific.

Yeah, I’m talking to you Ellen DeGeneres. Earlier this month, Ellen taped her show from inside one of her palatial mansions and complained: “This is like being in jail.” I would happily offer to switch places with poor Ellen while she holes up in my tiny three-room apartment and I spread out in her multi-tiered fantasy pad. Or take Kelly Ripa — who started crying because although she is lucky enough to isolate at her huge home with her healthy children, those mean kids won’t let her hug them. At one point, Ripa even used that lousy excuse (used by misogynists everywhere to “explain” female behavior): “Maybe I’m just getting my period.”

Meanwhile, social media is bursting with tone-deaf celebrities trying to “inspire” us with nearly nude sexy photos while the rest of us pack on the COVID-19 pounds. There are the usual suspects like Emily Ratajkowski and her husband posing naked on what looks like a toilet. Or Bella Hadid who posted a shot of herself casually lounging poolside in a teeny bikini while her BFF, Kendall Jenner, spends self-isolation chilling in her underwear for all of us to endure.

Even D-listers want in on the nude attention: Ex-tennis star Ashley Harkleroad went naked to save “money on clothes” — riiiiight — and the ever-thirsty UFC contestantPaige VanZant and husband Austin Vanderford still insist on stripping off every day despite a fan backlash. Having to be sexy all the damn time smacks not of body positivity but low self-esteem — and a constant need for the public peanut gallery to cheer them on. I refuse.

Many so-called “influencers” have gone crying to media outlets like The New York Times, Bloomberg, Business Insider, and Digiday because their money is drying up — although some have found a way to milk the viral opportunity. According to the Daily Beast, “’The Bachelor’ franchise alum and fitness coach Krystal Nielson recently suggested that there’s one easy way to avoid contracting the virus: Sign up for her two-week detox program!”

Then there are the people with zero percent body fat showing me how FUN it is to work out at home and cool “tips” on how to lose weight like Rita Ora, Kate Bosworth (using a device that looks more like a sex toy than anything else), Tracee Ellis Ross (who can apparently afford a home treadmill — good for you!), Jessica Alba dancing inside her home gym (sob) and hordes of others. I am not interested. I’m just gonna do some old Jane Fonda workout videos, do bicep curls using cans of beans I hope to never have to eat and lunge for the wine bottle come five o’clock.

In the same vein are the Rich Kids of the Internet on Instagram, many of whom are wealthy because their parents are venal dictators, oligarchs or hucksters, who now have to wear face masks (!) and stay on a yacht alone (!), pose by a pool alone (!), and can’t take their hideously ugly and expensive cars out of their garage during lock-down. I hope they all get boils.

Then, of course, there’s Gisele Bundchen, the supermodel who, while promoting Global Meditation, posted a pic of herself in front of a beautiful pool and waterfall as she extolled the importance of being Zen. Which is easy to do when you’re not losing your job, have millions in the bank and are healthy. She also posted a romantic video of her and Ken-doll husband Tom Brady riding horses while talking about balance in one’s marriage. Yaaaaay for you, Gisele. Now go away.

Not everybody is awful. Thank God for Leslie Jordan whose Instagram antics brighten my day. People like Sarah Silverman cheering from her balcony in a bathrobe while banging on pots and pans for healthcare heroes, grocery store workers and delivery people, and that sweet angel Tyler Perry paying for elderly people’s groceries have warmed my heart and brought a tear to my eye. I’m even down with Naomi Watts’ breakdown over her home appliances failing (I mean, we can all relate to that.)

Everyone else — turn off your recording devices, stop making it all about you and try to empathize with the 99.99 percent of the rest of us… by just going silent and not being a jerk.

It won’t last forever, I promise. But our memory of your insane behavior will.

RobPA reacted to Epigonos in The Message-Forum Will Be Going Down On Saturday
When I recently read Guy Fawkes’ post “The Message Forum Will Be Going Down On Saturday” I initially assumed the forum would be down for just a day but later came to realize that he was talking about the entire month of December. This post got me to thinking about how this site has evolved over the fifteen years during which I have been an active participant (I joined on 12/05/03). In those early days Hooboy was operating the site and there was something of a “wild west” aspect about the place. Some of posters at that time posted with virtually no holds barred and people with thin skins didn’t last long. Over the last three years not only have I continued to post here but I have become a financial supporter of the site.

Early on, half a dozen plus reviews were posted on a daily (seven days a week) basis and many of those reviews were explicit to say the least. Currently two or three anemic reviews (Had a lovely time, with a lovely escort who looked just like his lovely photographs.) appear Monday through Friday with somewhat frequent hiatuses for various reasons. The Political Forum was a virtual free for all. Over the years, because of various reasons, I have chosen not to participate in that forum BUT it was always an important part of this site for many posters – it no longer exists. This site spawned both the Palm Springs Weekend and the DC Luncheon. Now with DC Luncheon rapidly approaching, those with questions or comments are left without a source of information. I have been a VERY active participant in the Palm Springs Weekend, from near its inception, but am beginning to wonder how much longer it will be able to continue. What happens if the site closes down “temporarily” at a critical point in its planning? What happens if some continue to criticize these functions as frivolous and trite? On top of the above the fear and self/site censorship created by SESTA/FOSTA must be taken into consideration.

I certainly realize that evolution is a natural process and change is inevitable. The saber-toothed tiger outlived its time so possibly has this site. Even for an atheist like me the first three lines of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 comes to mind:

“To everything there is a season
And a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die"

Maybe just maybe it is time for this site to die

I'm out. Family, friends, neighbors know.
I'm out because it just became too much effort to lie, dissemble, mislead and obfuscate. Its exhausting!

I feel no pressing need to tell everyone immediately upon meeting. I fly no flag. There's no rainbow on my bumper. So I suppose some business acquaintances don't know. But if we're friendly enough to chat, go to lunch, they know. In fact, I often have a little fun when people, getting to know me, asking questions, reach understanding. It's visible on their face, evident they want to ask "are you gay?" but are afraid. I usually smile and chuckle, saying "its ok. I have nothing to hide. You can ask."
I'm not proud of being gay. I reserve pride for accomplishments; I had nothing to do with being gay. I'm not proud of being six feet tall or having brown eyes. Or size 13 feet....well ....
I'm proud of the manner in which I live my life. I'm proud that I've upheld my personal commitment that I'll never ever make even the slightest effort to hide who I am. I'm proud of my lifestyle choices, and my career accomplishments; I think its important that others see that I live a quiet suburban lifestyle, have advanced through management into owning my own business. Being gay doesn't define me. Not all gays live the stereotypical lives depicted by the entertainment and other media. When its finally apparent that there are gay butchers, congressmen, executives, techies, single and partnered, thin and fat, black white & brown, quiet or outspoken, timid or faaaabulous living in cities, suburbs, towns and on farms..... maybe people will stop looking for, focusing on, and reacting to differences.
