I did that once, to see if it would save time. It did.
However, I have to admit, my RP is pretty weird, and I prefer to stick with providers who either comprehend English, or have enough education to understand my words.

I don't know how well Google Translate works, but I've tried to use this once, but with bad results.
Has anyone else here been in this situation (as provider or client)?
Since I'm into role-playing when I hire, I need to be able to explain complicated instructions.

+ DrownedBoy reacted to Jamie21 in Have you ever not been paid ? ( for your time)
It’s never happened. I take payment at the end, it feels better to me. Some clients pay before because I think they’re anxious and want to get that part out of the way but I never ask for any payment up front.
On this occasion the client (who had tried to negotiate a reduced price when booking- my answer was no, I never discount) when we’d finished and it came to payment time said he didn’t have the cash. At that time I didn’t accept credit cards so cash was the only way. I think he expected me to say “oh don’t worry it was such a fantastic time for me that session is free”. Well in fact it wasn’t fantastic, it was average, and it was work, so I said to him “no problem I’ll just get dressed and walk with you to the cash machine” which was 5 minutes walk away. As we walked I was worried he’d do a runner so I stayed close. At the machine he withdrew the cash and paid me. Funny thing is I’ve seen him a couple of times since. Each time since then he’s never tried to negotiate and always had payment ready.

Yes, Zelle is the equivalent of a bank transfer - your bank has to have an agreement with them, and transactions are treated like real cash withdrawals. I don't even use the Zelle app - my bank's app includes a Zelle option.
    It's not as anonymous, but:
    1. It looks somewhat suspicious if you go to a teller constantly for large cash outflows (which in the U.S. can be investigated)
    2. My bank's ATMs only carry 20s (and also have daily withdraw limits)
    3. It's safer for the provider (you can't reverse a Zelle transaction if the other person's bank uses it)

My grandpa was from the old country, arriving as a teenager.  He worked hard and raised a family.  He made it clear he'd rather die than move to the home.
    He lasted about a week.

These days, in my experience, retirement home staff are underpaid, and spend a lot of time on their smartphones.
By the time some of us get there, perhaps that situatuon would be no big deal.  But for now, a lot of old people notice and don't like how that feels, to be ignored while staff stares at their phone.

In my gay circle, "faggot" is a term we use. Usually noted to depict an immature, overly-emotional, whiny gay man. Our prerogative to use that word.
And yes, hotels don't care about this stuff, and if an escort tries to create a scene in a hotel, security will "escort" him from the building. Personal experience.

Let me walk you through this one….
”I’m sorry, I was expecting someone else" (shuts door)
    <End scene>
He knows he’s scamming you and you’re hotel doesn’t give a flying fuck that you hire whores…trust me.
He’s counting on you being a weak ass faggot…..don’t be a weak ass faggot.
If he creates a scene, he will be escorted off the premises by hotel security.
He won’t be the first, or the last.
In the future, meet first time hires on neutral turf. It’s easier to walk away.

You’ve had excellent advice from various people here @HoseMaster.

Stop thinking about this disaster and all the details of how it happened. If you’d been robbed by a stranger, you wouldn’t be thinking about how you might have negotiated better with the robber.

This guy simply abused the relationship you had with him. His motto seems to me to be ‘Maximum $ for Minimum Effort’.

Sorry that you got hosed in learning this lesson, @HoseMaster
Hearing about this is a good reminder to us clients, that dating is a reciprocal arrangement, and hiring is not. Spending time with vs spending money on.
Understandably it’s easy to let the nice feelings muck up one’s spidey senses about the business part. He admitted that he has a boyfriend, so he was clear that you were definitely not that. He’s charged you that amount …to watch …Netflix? The relation you have (had) to him is your custom, and he was never interested in keeping even that.
That he began with the “last minute flat tire” speaks to his premeditation in taking advantage.
Members have correctly pointed out that in LA we have many other options available. Take that to heart. Delete and block his number, and don’t retell this event to any provider you spend time with/money on.

Dating is time with, hiring is money on.
    You’ll be fine going forward.

One thing I learned the hard way:
If you agree on a price, and the guy later says he wants more, CANCEL IMMEDIATELY.
    1. If you turn down their request, the session will be lousy or a lot shorter than expected.
    2. If you pay them more, they've pegged you as a sucker, and will keep asking for more.
This is a business deal. You don't offer more money when buying something.

Depends on context, the guy, and his reviews.
It can sometimes backfire. The last guy I met mentioned the Uber was more expensive than he thought, so for the next session, I offered him more to cover it.
An hour before the almost-second session, he complained that Uber was "more expensive" than the last time. It's sad that the good ones are often so stupid....
