  1. I guess that's what they call a reciprocal tariff.
  2. When the pandemic just started, I felt the same. I hired x2 in a single week, something I never do. It was healthier and cheaper just to go to my rural Wisconsin place.
  3. I don't trust rescheduling. I tried it with a certain popular provider, and ended up with an overpriced hour vs the acceptable 2 hour rate we had negotiated. Something he didn't share ahead of time. You did the right thing. This is business, and your time is more valuable than the provider's. If he can't respect your schedule, there's more fish in the sea.
  4. My understanding was that RentMen sometimes reads these forums.
  5. Look for ones that don't have many followers.
  6. He wasn't turning into a different person. He was just showing less interest in you. That's what happens when any relationship or friendship winds down due to one side's lack of interest. I saw that enough times in my dating life. It's nothing special. And it's definitely not something you should allow yourself to emotionally ponder if you were in a transactional relationship.
  7. I finally had a chance to read a gay Holocaust memoir. Published after I left school. Very harsh and doesn't end very happily. Scary that he went from a libertine Frenchman in a somewhat gay friendly environment to a concentration camp, then forced labor and military service.
  8. He promised me the moon. Naturally I didn't hire.
  9. Why did you waste your time posting on this thread 😔
  10. That's why I'm don't hire "popular providers."
  11. So far I haven't seen any discounts announced in ads, like during the pandemic. But yes. If you have the cash, there may be many advantages. Unlike the pandemic, there's no fear to meet. Unlike a regular recession, this one might last awhile.
  12. This applies even if they do specifically list a service. One thing - always RM messenger the escort beforehand. Then if you have a premium account, you can 1-star them if they violate the contract.
  13. Yup. His ad said he was into kissing. I asked him to confirm. He said: yes, I kiss....$50 each. Balls.
  14. Yeah snot doesn't smell like bleach.
  15. In Japan, they call that the "refreshing" type. They need that spice of earnest helpfulness with some naivety. I'd pay extra for a provider who could pull that act off. It's near-impossible when both sides are experienced with hiring.
  16. @pubic_assistance , at times, you can be a master of subtle and polite homophobia.
  17. It's off-putting to me as a gay man, yes, but it's also a hedged business move. Fat grandmas need loving too. I can respect business savvy.
  18. I've been very disappointed with the "cream of the crop," and IMHO they're not worth the extra. In fact, they're not worth it: hard to book, very arrogant, highly likely to flake, and entitled. I think the only difference is one knows how to find a photographer to make them look drool-worthy in their ad. There are many guys with regular pics or normal looking profiles who are stunning in person. Appearance is not substance.
  19. Tell him he has a choice - pucker up or get on his knees. See what he prices. EDIT My personal favorite was this guy who said he charges $50 per kiss. I politely declined without laughing.
  20. Everyone has their own tastes; just make sure the provider is willing to go along. For example, I'm like the opposite. I don't engage in anal or oral sex with providers. I recall 2 Latino guys slapping their dick on my face to tempt me, but no go. Also, kissing does not need to be romantic, if combined with non-consensual roleplay. You can get really creative. I personally liked the "torturer who realized he was whipping the wrong guy, and tenderly tries to nurse him back to health" scenario.
  21. I can understand retired - and close-to-retirement - clients cutting back on hiring, and I bet that's where most of the effect will be. Their fears may be mislaid, but there's a lot more going on than just the stock market. Consumer confidence is down - this is a simple economic fact which equals less spending. Across the board. Luxury items do not sell well in such a market. I'm already starting to see an influx of new guys in my area, but in terms of quality, they don't stand out much. I'd imagine we'll see somewhat of a repeat of pandemic era panic. But I don't see demand getting too high, and I expect to see a lot of creatives/artistics start hiring out when they need the money. But there will be lots of scammers. I will not discuss investments, but some of us are still working, and still have a ways to go before we can stop working. That fact remains regardless of how much you have saved. That alone is what caused me to cut back. Never tempt fate and laugh at a bear market.
  22. Dude - male landscapers get hired by bored housewives all the time. And for more than just mowing the lawn while shirtless. Enjoy the scenery.
  23. Yeah, they upsell. I'd look for a model that comes with all features attached instead.
  24. And this is why clients need to learn how to defend themselves with the same type of weapon. Dangerous business, take precautions.
  25. No, but stagnating wages, inflation, and the possibility of losing my job would.
