What percentage of masseurs have sex with their clients?
maninsoma replied to LoveAGoodMassage's topic in Spas & Masseurs
If you mean hiring someone for a massage, receiving an actual massage, and then the session includes penetration? In my experience, that has happened with a very small number of men. Far more men, particularly in my days of hiring from Craigslist, advertised "erotic massages" where the massage was perfunctory and the rest of the experience is really what they were marketing. A much higher percentage of those sessions ended in penetration. -
Yes, black men should not bleach their hair blond. Just like natural blonds almost never look good with hair dyed jet black.

This topic has been brought up before. While it might be misleading, I don't think one can make an assumption about sexual practices an escort has based on videos he shares. He might insist on condoms when working with clients but be willing to go without on porn shoots or in his personal life. Or maybe he actually will forego condoms with clients but, for some reason, still chose to select "safe sex" from the drop-down menu on RentMen. Who knows? I've even seen providers who vary their answer in that category; sometimes they are listed as safe sex and other times ask me. Who knows what that means? Obviously communication is key. Back to black cocks, I sure would like to meet Rhyheim Shabazz (escorted at one time, but I don't think he does any more) and DeAngelo Jackson (expired profile in Atlanta).

The problem is that national tax laws in the United States never take in account the relative cost of living. Someone living in San Francisco making $99,000/year, the cutoff at which he received no stimulus check, is relatively poor given the cost of housing here when compared to most areas of the country. When a 1-bedroom apartment rents for more than $3,000/month, even the added $600 in unemployment benefits for those here who lost a job means that those people will struggle to pay rent and other expenses with the extra money and will no way be able to afford expenses if they are still unemployed after the extra stimulus money runs dry. Of course some people here have sweet rent deals due to rent control and others have mortgages that they can still afford, but the sad reality is that $54K in San Francisco doesn't go very far whereas in a lot of areas of the country that's more than enough to cover rent and other basic expenses. I sent an email to Nancy Pelosi about this and, of course, received no response. I wouldn't advocate for doing something that would be inherently unfair such as giving more to people who live in one area versus another, but I think the federal government could have created this pool of money going to states to enhance existing unemployment benefits such that the extra amount given to each person was based on the newly unemployed's person previous salary versus this one-size-fits-all situation where we have some people getting more money remaining unemployed and others who, despite the added benefits, are getting less than half their previous salary. I feel fortunate that I am still working. I already found out that I am not getting the raise I was scheduled to receive in July, and I won't be surprised to learn soon that my pay is being cut in exchange for getting more time off since that's what happened during the last recession and the current economic situation is more dire.

As a teacher, you mean? The guy is young (looks his stated age of 27) but I don't even think he looks like a twink any more. I do think he's very appealing. Too bad he's visiting my area during this pandemic as I'm not inclined to meet anyone at this time.

Chad Johnson of the Bachelorette newest adult film star
maninsoma replied to Beancounter's topic in The Lounge
Things aren't quite as bad in the straight porn world as they were 40 years ago when almost no consideration was given to a man's looks, but I agree that there are a number of male performers in straight porn who aren't particularly attractive. That being said, I also find that certain gay porn studios seem to have a high percentage of unattractive (to me) men. -
Exactly. There isn't enough time in the day to watch all of the porn that exists already even if one chose to watch porn 24/7 for the rest of his life, so I don't think we have to worry about "running out." Now, being a porn-hound myself, there is something exciting about watching a new scene (very few scenes are hot enough for me that I want to watch them repeatedly) and a lot of what I sample doesn't do much for me so I imagine that from that perspective, someone might run out of previously unseen scenes that he likes.

Dear celebrities: Stop making coronavirus all about you
maninsoma replied to samhexum's topic in The Lounge
Not that there is no merit to the author's argument, but I have an alternate suggestion to her: stop paying so much attention to celebrities. I haven't even heard of some of the people she's complaining about. It sounds like she spends way too much of her time on social media. She would feel better about herself and the world in general if she lived a more balanced life. -
I don't know if the closure of See's is a corporate decision or a local government decision, but I assume it's the former. There is a specialty chocolate maker/seller near me that's still open, albeit with reduced hours. I think that any business selling any kind of food can still operate in California as long as the food is not consumed on premises.

Isn't that a big assumption to make? Just because someone shows his body online, that means he values himself solely by his sexual capital? Isn't it possible that someone could enjoy showing what he has but also value his intellect, his emotional self, his kindness towards others, etc?

I think many people are just not hiring or making themselves available to hire. Someone asked if clients would be willing to hire if they or the provider was wearing a mask and it seems like the overwhelming response is no. I would think that both parties are choosing to take a risk if the are still meeting others at this time, so I'm not sure it makes sense for a client to pay more any more than it would for a client to make a low-ball offer in the assumption that a provider is desperate for work.

I went grocery shopping this morning and left my backpack at home because of the current ban on bringing bags into a grocery store. So much for that. About half of the people in line had their own bags, and the store was not prohibiting customers from bringing those bags into the store. While I was waiting for a bus across the street by Whole Foods, someone monitoring the line simply told their customers that they could not "shop into" their bags.

Some physicians also feeling the pain of dropping incomes
maninsoma replied to + Pensant's topic in The Lounge
I doubt a doctor would do a virtual visit for someone they have not already examined. However, I can tell you how valuable they have been for me since I got Kaiser -- and not just since this pandemic started. When I had Blue Shield insurance, every little thing required a trip to the doctor's office (where I always had to wait way past my appointment time for the doctor and where, of course, I had to pay a copay). Need to review the results of labs and potentially start treatment with something? Go to the office just to get a prescription. Have an ongoing issue like asthma and need another inhaler? Go to the office to get a new prescription. Have a concern that you might have an STD? Go to the office just to express that concern in person, and then get referred to a lab for screening. With Kaiser, my lab results are posted on their website. My doctor will message me if something is of concern, and I can order a prescription to be delivered via mail if I need something. If I need a refill of something, I can request it on the website and it either gets filled (if there are refills available) or a message is sent to the doctor requesting him to authorize refills. For something like STD screening, I assume that if the patient's report is murky a provider might want that patient to come in first for screening, but most STDs require lab work and not just visual inspection anyway. Why not just have the person go to the lab? I have saved a lot of time and money by switching to Kaiser and feel like I get better care. My doctor is responsive. I can see him (or someone else) if I want, usually the same or the next day -- I'm talking pre-pandemic here; I think right now they are trying to keep everyone away who doesn't absolutely need to be seen right now -- but if the delivery of care can be done via message, phone call, or video call then I can do that as well to save everyone time and money. I think the difference is that Kaiser doctors are employees of Kaiser and get paid the same whether they see you in person or provide care in some other way. There is no financial incentive for a doctor to insist that someone come into the office for something as simple as getting lab results. For providers, I can see this has a downside -- if you have a busy independent practice, I assume you can make much more money than you would as a Kaiser doctor. For a patient, however, I see no downside. I always had difficulty finding a doctor I liked who was accepting new patients when I had other coverage, and once I was an established patient it was frequently difficult to get an appointment without waiting at least a few days if not a week. -
I have been using my own bags most of the time for nearly 40 years. It shouldn't take a government mandate to inform people that single use bags are a waste. I'm not saying they have no purpose ever, but I've never understood people's aversion to going to a store prepared with a bag or two (or more for a large shopping trip). I understand the caution right now against reusable bags. Initially I read that some stores were having their cashiers only bag into single-use bags -- customers had to bag their own purchases if they brought in a reusable bag. Going all the way to banning customers from even reusing their own bags seems a little silly if the notion is that the outside of the bag could have COVID-19 on it. So could the customers' hands and people are walking around the store shopping as usual (which sometimes includes touching items they don't buy as well as shopping carts/baskets, self-checkout register equipment, and payment equipment).

Some physicians also feeling the pain of dropping incomes
maninsoma replied to + Pensant's topic in The Lounge
Same here. I have Kaiser insurance and they are basically trying to get everyone to stay away from their facilities except for people who work there and patients who absolutely must be seen in person for diagnosis or treatment right away. Otherwise everything is being done online or via telephone and prescriptions are being mailed. I, too, would not want to go to a medical facility right now unless absolutely necessary in order to prevent infection either direction (me getting exposed or me, potentially being a carrier without any symptoms, exposing others). -
Tanner was (is?) so cute and I love his enthusiasm. My favorite scene of his is with another Sean Cody favorite of mine, Jess. I know some don't find Jess particularly attractive and I've read that he identifies as straight, but I find the latter difficult to believe given how quickly and how frequently he cums when he's fucking men.

Wow. Tough crowd. I just rewatched the scene because I hadn't noticed Nixon having a "belly pooch" when I first watched the scene. I still wouldn't say he has that much body fat that it's fair to say he has a "belly pooch." He's got a little more body fat but I'd say the gain is very slight.

What would you do with $2,000+ in flight Credits
maninsoma replied to + VictorPowers's topic in The Lounge
If the airline cancels a flight, the passenger is entitled to a refund. If you choose to cancel your reservation and you bought a non-refundable ticket, you aren't entitled to a refund. Maybe some airlines are giving refunds to customers who change their own plans, but I think most of them are simply issuing travel credits and eliminating the change fees they normally charge. The expiration date of travel credits is typically one year from the date of original booking, but according to this site a number of airlines have changed their policies given the reality that a lot of people won't be able to travel before their credits expire. -
What? Based on what I've read, the bill specifically includes self-employed and "gig economy" workers, something that is quite different than typical unemployment insurance coverage. It seems like if you are a masseur who suddenly has no work you can file for benefits. From what I've read, such people would be eligible for the extra $600 the Fed is kicking in for unemployed folks plus half the average unemployment benefit in their state, though that's just information I read in the news this morning before the House further tinkered with the bill.

I know what you mean about feeling sorry for people who have trips planned. There are still some guys listed on Rentmen as visiting San Francisco in the next couple of weeks and even if you ignore shelter-in-place orders, there's nothing to do here right now outside of one's house other than pick up food from a to-go restaurant or grocery store. Beyond that, I'm sure some guys are still hiring masseurs or escorts but the market surely has plummeted due to both economic stress and people wanting to limit potential exposure to COVID-19.
-
I wouldn't call them a deal breaker, but they are never a positive for me. I don't mind minimal ones on arms or even the torso, but when body art starts to cover up too much flesh I am turned off completely. I absolutely hate tattoos on the neck, face, and fingers and would never give someone who had tattoos in those areas a second glance.

I played the video only long enough to see how cute he was -- about 1 or 2 seconds, I guess. Yes, he's cute. I'm not particularly interested in watching YouTube videos of people rambling on about their mundane lives, though. If a video like this helps other people in his age cohort (or even younger guys), then good on him. As an almost 60-something gay man who has been out of the closet since his mid-teens, though, listening to another "coming out" story is extremely low on my list of things to do.

What? The lone erection shot in his ad doesn't make his penis seem small, but I know how photos of erections can sometimes be deceiving. From the neck down, he looks quite delectable to me. From the neck up, I'd say he's quite average looking -- certainly not model-good-looking or someone who can command top dollar. But that's just my perspective.

It seems like since Sean Cody has somewhat lost its way since the purchase by MindGeek. I didn't appreciate all of their models equally before that time, but they generally did have a type -- young, clean-cut jocks. Now their models don't look different than what you would see in most other studios' shoots. When I see newer Corbin Fisher scenes, it seems like they have retained their focus on that type of man.
