I'm not debating the merits of these sting operations, but it's logical to assume that these people would have, in fact, met a minor had the person they had been chatting with actually been a minor versus an undercover law enforcement officer. It's nice to be "grandfathered in" to a rate, but I don't begrudge someone needing to increase his rates over time. What I don't understand is someone thinking his client base will automatically be comfortable with a 20 or 25% increase. I've never received a pay raise anywhere close to that percentage; only when I've changed jobs has my salary increated that much at one time. For the extremely well off, it might not matter whether the rate increase is $50 or more per hour. For many of us, that may move a provider too far away from what we can justify spending on this activity.
