  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think where the comparison between Backpage and social media sites breaks down is that Backpage charges money for making posts whereas someone can create accounts on social media platforms and then post for free. I checked out BP yesterday and noticed not only the trend to simple phone numbers and photos, but there are already some interesting attempts to game the system going on. One is that some guys post a photo of text that describes what they are offering (smart). Another is that people are linking social media accounts that clearly aren't even theirs (very odd).
  2. Funny show. The subsequent feature length film wasn't as good.
  3. A lot of TV shows don't hold up under intellectual scrutiny, but perhaps Golden Girls is worse than most. It's best to completely suspend disbelief when watching it and just enjoy the jokes.
  4. I suggest Noah's Arc. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but to paint with a broad brush Noah's Arc was like a black Queer As Folk -- only better written and acted. And it featured a number of seriously sexy men. Definitely worthwhile watching.
  5. search for "hotcolin" for a previous thread about him that has a few comments, all of them positive.
  6. Someone who ended up killing one of my classmates sat next to me in one class in 7th grade. He and one of his friends joked about animal torture (killing) starting in fourth grade. Not sure what happened to him after whatever time he served for the murder, but I assume he was released as a young adult given his young age when he committed the murder. I'm not sure what happened to his sociopathic friend, either.
  7. I still love the Golden Girls. One of television's best comedies ever. Even though some of the jokes are dated, I can tune in one of the channels that runs GG marathons on the weekends (TVLand, Logo) and know I will have some laugh out loud moments.
  8. So, in other words, Masseurfinder is trying to ruin their business? I get wanting to verify advertiser's identity, but requiring a social media account and access to the connections on that account is beyond reasonable. It's also ridiculous since a scammer could certainly set up a fake Facebook account using the same stolen photos he wants to use on MF.
  9. I guess George Clooney believes (either rightly or wrongly) that his success in movies has more to do with his looks than acting ability. I say rightly or wrongly because I honestly don't have an opinion as to his acting ability. He generally doesn't make films I am interested in seeing. And, rightly or wrongly, he believes he is approaching his expiration date in terms of being sexy enough to be cast just for his looks.
  10. Apparently he doesn't keep track of his wishes very well. The Honolulu home link doesn't lead anywhere. The speakers link goes to a page saying it's no longer available and suggests a new model. I assume in his fantasy he is going to own some sort of bar or performance space since I cannot think of any other reason why one would want so much pro audio equipment. He definitely didn't make those choices to build a home sound system. What really doesn't add up to me is that his rates are on the lower end yet he has this fantasy wish list of expensive items. You would think his rates would also be on the higher end to try to establish a client base of only the well-to-do in the hopes that one of them would want to become a sugar daddy and by him an expensive house or car. I do like his photos.
  11. Why? Barebacking was common even before PrEP. With PrEP, I definitely noticed an increase in guys advertising with "ask me" or "anything goes" listed in the Safe Sex detail of their ads. To be fair, some of the "ask me" responses may very well not mean the escorts bareback, but given the text of many of the ads it's pretty clear that that's what it means a lot of the time. A statistic from San Francisco on RentMen at the current time: 3 pages of "safe only" listings, 3 pages of "anything goes," and 5 pages of "ask me." I take the 3 pages of "safe only" listings with a grain of salt because some of the guys currently advertising as "safe only" change that response on occasion to one of the others.
  12. I can appreciate a cute twink with a nice bulge prancing around in a tight swimsuit. If it doesn't do anything for you, there's no reason to be catty about it.
  13. Seriously? A massage website insists on having your phone number or credit card information in order to post reviews? No, thanks.
  14. Feminine? He didn't come across that way to me at all. He didn't come across as hyper masculine, either, so I guess if that's one's expectation or preference then Shawn may disappoint.
  15. He has reviews here (Daddy's). Search for Stefano in Los Angeles.
  16. Take the MUNI underground from Castro to Van Ness Station, then transfer to a 49 or 47 bus going north on Van Ness or you can walk all the way to Karl's place in about 20 minutes.
  17. I wouldn't worry about walking in that area at 8am, but I've lived in San Francisco for many decades. Sure, there will be some sketchy people in that area at every hour of the day but they don't really faze me. There are sketchy people on the street in many areas of San Francisco -- far more areas now than used to be the case.
  18. A coworker died due to infection after weight loss surgery (not sure if if was a gastric sleeve or something else). Another coworker nearly died following her surgery, but she pulled through. She lost some weight but not that much. Another coworker lost a lot of weight and has kept it off, but given that her breath smells like an open sewer a lot of the time I suspect her weight maintenance plan involves purging. I think that surgery for weight loss makes sense for people who are severely obese who want it, but the coworker who died wasn't even that heavy. She was heavy, but it isn't like she weighed twice as much as she should have. I was shocked when I heard she had the surgery because, prior to then, I had no idea that a doctor would perform such a risky operation on someone who was only moderately overweight.
  19. I'm not surprised. My two massage sessions with him were a combination of massage and hot foreplay.
  20. I switched to lower energy bulbs a long time ago, long before it became difficult to find incandescent bulbs. More than likely I will die leaving behind untouched incandescent bulbs.
  21. No. I'm a little perplexed by the claim that they could be hacked and then programmed to kill. I understand that they could be hacked, but how exactly would they kill their owners? Strangulation? They don't seem to have weapons attached to them by default, so the hacker would have to program it to recognize potential weapons found in an ordinary home and then the robots be capable of wandering around to look for those things. And during that time the owner is just sitting idly by? Or is the notion that people will just leave their sexbots on 24/7 so they might be waiting at your front door with a knife when you get home from work?
  22. I can just hear Nat King Cole singing, "Unmemorable, that's what you are...."
  23. I have never had this happen to me and I cannot say that I've ever been sexually attracted to any of my doctors, but I have had two dentists I've had the hots for. One of them was my dentist when I was a college age twink. He was dating a woman who lived upstairs from me, so I occasionally saw him outside of his office. How that man changed my experience of going to the dentist from one of reluctance to enthusiasm. Just having my mouth open with him sticking his fingers in there while I looked up at his handsome face! I can still remember, 35 years later, going home to jack off thinking about him. Since I knew he was straight, I never even gave the slightest hint to him that I found him so arousing -- at least I don't think I did. Maybe he could tell even though I didn't say anything.
  24. I should clarify: I am not doing pre-hire searches in order to find out personal information about escorts or masseurs. I do searches in order to weed out guys I don't want to contact (indication of fake pictures being used, negative reviews, social media presence that lets me know I wouldn't click with the guy).
  25. I think I only did something similar once. I generally do a reverse image search and phone number search on guys I might hire. One guy I decided I did not want to hire was using a photo that linked to a youtube channel and on his channel he had various videos with family members working in a family business. I told him what I was able to find just based on a reverse image search and suggested that if he cared about privacy that he should not use the same photos for escorting that he uses elsewhere. I also made it clear that I wasn't intending to hire him but simply felt like he should know that he was perhaps revealing a lot more about himself than he intended. He didn't reply to me but he did remove the photo from his ad.
