It used to be when people wanted a good recommendation, some information was given as to what they are looking for, be it body type, race, height, and so on.
I'm seeing lately far too many people just throwing out random cities - big ones - and asking for who the best person is without knowing at all any kind of simple details to be able to offer up some help. 
In the meccas, there really is someone for everyone. In Minot, for example, you may have to settle for whoever is breathing.

So this is a really interesting topic. This month marks my first year as a provider. 
When I first started, I had a mentor who has been doing this for much longer. He told me flat out “always get paid up front”. It’s something I followed religiously at first. Some clients would mention they never pay up front, but I stuck to what I was taught. 
Over time, I began to change my approach. I place a lot of importance in messaging my client before meeting and getting a sense of what he’s looking for. It gives me a better understanding of who I will have in front of me. 95% of the time, my clients are happy to connect with me in this way. Upon meeting, I never talk money. They pay at the end, and I don’t even count it in front of them unless they insist that I do. I’ve never run into a problem (so far)  
A few key points that help me understand why I was suggested to always get paid up front: The escort providing insight is an active meth user and pretty much only has other clients who have last minute requests and are often using as well (I used to be but have since been in recovery). Meeting up with clients at night and often for party type moments possibly means he encountered more who were unable to pay at the end.
In my case, I truly go with my intuition. I sometimes have clients who will message me with one word questions or answers. “How much? Free now? You f*ck good?” When I feel that what the potential client is looking for something that is purely transactional in nature, I treat it as a transaction. But if the client is engaging with me, then I never ask to be paid up front. 
I should also say that I’m in the habit of reconfirming all the details with someone before meeting. Say we discussed a few details over several messages. My last message will be “ok so just to confirm, tomorrow at my place a 3pm for two hours and for $____ paid (specified how). Is that correct?” Doing that eliminated the “oh I misunderstood”
Incorporating all of these elements together in a way filters out the dishonest clients. It’s easier to cheat someone if you don’t see them as a person, and don’t see beyond your basic needs (this is true for both clients and providers).

Consent cannot be retroactively revoked. At the time of the sex, the @**hole had received consent regardless of his abhorrent behavior afterward. RAINN standards for consent at the link provided are consistent that consent was given. I have family and friends that are victims of rape and sexual abuse. The trauma from true violence and absolute lack of consent should not be diminished or equated with this, and personally it offends me to hear it.
@NYXboy  YMMV for this and I respect your right to feel that way, but consider a teen who takes another’s virginity by promising eternal love but breaks up with his lover afterward to move to his next conquest? Is he a rapist who did not actually have consent? Or a man who gets a woman pregnant after promising to marry her if he did, only to disappear? Is he now a rapist, too, due to a broken promise?
@Tony_tx What happened to you was terrible and inexcusable, but it was not rape. What happened to you was outrageous and shameful, but it was not rape. MikeTexas is a piece of $#!t who deserves for a ‘collector’ to show up to settle your account by whatever method needed and the type of client we other clients loathe, but he is not a rapist.

@Tony_txI know you are in Texas, but I would look up legal avenues, and tell him you are doing so. Police often will NOT prosecute a victim of sexual violence.  This may make him rethink and send you the money. Off topic but I wish masseurs would let you know that they use theraguns or are planning to. I have fibro and those type of devices are not pleasant at all to me. I make a habit now of asking new hires if they use them and, if so, to refrain during my appointments.

I’m sorry to hear this. It sounds like the guy you hired is indeed a caring person and cares about your feelings which must make it worse. However clearly despite being passionate with you he doesn’t share your feelings. I think sometimes clients misread passion as indicative of deeper feelings, especially if you include kissing. I love kissing but I’m careful as to how it’s perceived.
I totally understand his non response when you told him you loved you felt when with him. It’s similar to situations I have had when it appears that a client is ‘crossing a line’. They say things like that, they start sharing quite personal things, and they send lots of messages. It becomes really difficult to remain friendly, so as to maintain the relationship (in essence a commercial relationship) whilst keeping a distance. Sometimes you just have to respond with silence because to say ‘I like you but if it wasn’t for the payment I wouldn’t be here’ is to let too much daylight in upon magic and is personally hurtful. No one wants to do that to a client so you just say nothing and hope the message gets through. 
I hope you’re able to see it now in hindsight for what it was. If you hire someone, regardless of how it appears, always remember that if it wasn’t for the money he almost certainly wouldn’t be there, and if you’d like that to change it’s up to him to initiate it.
