I'm very much enjoying 'Mary & George', currently airing in the UK on Sky Atlantic and due, I believe, in the US next month. Julianne Moore is terrific as the fearsome matriarch (with cut glass English accent) propelling her pretty second son, played by Nicholas Galitzine, to fame and fortune as lover of the king, James 1st as played by Tony Curran. I'll not give too much of the plot away but it all looks very handsome, there's some witty dialogue, some fairly entertaining sex scenes (given this is primetime UK telly) and its all based - apparently - on true events. There are some excellent performers also in secondary roles including Nicola Walker as one of Moore's acid tongued rivals at court, Trine Dyrholm as the long suffering Queen Anne and Mark O'Halloran as a quietly spoken but deadly Francis Bacon. All good fun! I'm only about halfway through but its very entertaining so far.

James I (he was also JamesVI of Scotland) was the son of Mary Queen of Scots, and he was notorious for his fondness for pretty young men: George Villiers was not his first favorite to be showered with titles and wealth. However, he was not just a pretty face--he eventually became Duke of Buckingham, and one of the most important figures in early 17th century European politics. He also became a close confederate of James's son, Charles I, who didn't mind his relationship with Charles's father; George was murdered just before his 36th birthday, while on his way to a military mission for Charles in France.
As the young Duke of Buckingham, George acquired land in Buckinghamshire, where he built a huge country house called Cliveden. At one point much of the original house was burned down and then rebuilt. Over the years it passed through many owners, including other noblemen, even the Prince of Wales, and the American millionaire William Astor, who passed it on to his son and his wife, the famed British political figure Nancy Astor, before it was finally acquired by the National Trust. In the 1970s, it was used by Stanford University as their international residential campus. A close friend of mine was teaching there at the time, and I went to visit him there for a few days. I was given Nancy Astor's bedroom for my stay.  True to tradition, my gay friend had a favorite pupil, who was a very pretty boy indeed. It is now a hotel, and if you want to lay out a lot of money for a room in the country for the night, you can make your own connection to George Villiers.

I thought Saltburn was on-par with a student film.  It tried way too hard to be avant garde and shocking.
Dialogue had moments, but the only one who delivered them with the appropriate sting was Rosamund Pike.
Loved seeing Richard Grant as Sir James.  He's been doing solid character work for decades.
This film is a good example of just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I hoped to arrange a meeting with him when I was in London at the end of November but I texted him about availability about 2 weeks before I was due to arrive and am still waiting for a response 🙂 I don't believe he ever read the message. Hopefully someone else has had better luck...

I disagree. I enjoyed a good deal of what I saw in season 2. Including some really good acting from Baranski, Leonard, Nixon, and Coon. And I enjoyed the “opera war,” which was accurate enough historically. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we all have different tastes and expectations. I look forward to season 3.

My arrangement is similar to those described by @Charlie and @Simon Suraci. When we first met, his income was much higher than mine. Mine is now a bit higher than his. At one point we added up all of the joint expenses, figured out who had which account in whose name, and figured out what the differential is. I pay more of the monthly payments like the mortgage, PG&E, insurance etc., so he transfers funds into my account at the beginning of the month to cover his share and provide me with enough money to pay those bills. Groceries, restaurants, entertainment etc. are more on the honor system, we trade off unless it becomes unusually out of balance. Sometimes he'll let me know he's bought most of the groceries for a while, so I'll transfer some money back, or vice versa, but we're not keeping close tabs.

The finances in my relationship are much the same way as you handle yours. It works well for us. We’ve lived together and apart over the years. We’re happier living togther, and we own everything together equally and pay for it equally, even when his income was higher or mine was higher. It changes over time. The little things like groceries we don’t nickel and dime each other. The main big stuff is 50/50.

Lucius5 reacted to + Charlie in For those in relationships with someone with less income. How…?
When my spouse and I first met, he had a higher income than I did. Fifty-five years later, my income is higher than his. But we have always used the same method of managing money. Anything that is equally shared, like house, utilities, car, etc., we have always split equally, which meant that we never bought or contracted for anything we used together that would be too much of a strain for one of us to afford. Anything that was in both names was equally paid for. That was also true when we traveled together, unless it was a trip that both of us wanted, and the one who wanted it most was willing to pay a larger share of the cost to make it happen. We also both traveled a lot separately, and each of us then paid his own way. We never expected to pay for one another's personal items, whether it was clothing or sexual adventures. To account for the differential in income, we each maintained separate assets, like investments, retirement accounts, and the like, with each of us named in our wills as eventual beneficiary of the other's personal assets.
We have a couple of friends who have been together as long as we have. One of them always had much more money than the other. After a rocky start for a few years, they solved the problem by not living together, with each one responsible for all his own expenses, and sharing only expenses for joint travel and entertainment. One owns a huge condo on Manhattan's East Side, while the other rents a small one-bedroom apartment elsewhere, and each is psychologically satisfied with his financial independence.

IDK… I hear those words a lot and they are used in endearing ways between people similar to the way people use the “n” word or other words that reference color, position in life, gender, class~ So, it seems intent and context can change the interpretation of the words and their application~
The words themselves are sounds and letters… The intent and context changes everything~

I'm simple: We both should be clean and freshly showered (as circumstances permit) before meeting. Perfumes don't bother me if we're not in bed, e.g. on a date, but once we're being intimate, I get sneezing fits with most EDTs.
If I am hosting, I'll offer my bathroom. And I will ask if I can join him, too.
I met up with a pretty popular escort many years ago, and it was obvious that he was taking a few clients that day because he has not had a chance to freshen up between appointments. I stopped mid-deed to politely ask him to shower, as the smell down there was overbearing.

I think there's a difference here between client and provider.  OP, as a client you set your desired parameters.  Provided you are clean and not overly-perfumed (we've all encountered people who take it waaaay too far), I think it's your prerogative to groom for your meet as you see fit.  Providers OTOH need by default to provide a blank slate to accommodate client preferences, as discussed above.  In the west, underarm deodorant marketers have convinced us all that we stink to high heaven without daily (or more) application of their products.  I guess the default for providers would include deo, unless otherwise specifically requested by the client, but I think cologne, body oil or other artificial scents are a bad idea, again unless the client has made a specific request in advance.
There are, of course, providers whose brand includes a well-developed natural scent, but I guess that's a niche.  This topic is often addressed in the ads of more thoughtful providers.
I'm a scent pig, I love musky pits and asses and bushes and foreskins on a fit, younger guy in an erotic scenario.  But context is everything, and same can be off-putting, even repulsive, in a social situation or on the subway or in any other non-sexual setting.

Male scents turn me on big time, and this sounds very hot, @Lucius5. I always ask my sexual partners to NOT wear any perfume or deodorant and, if possible, to work a little sweat before we meet. I love to sniff and lick smelly pits and crotch.

The one-or-so-day underwear is a MAJOR turn on for me. Sweaty balls and a musky ass (not shitty, NO) drive me wild.

Hi, I'm new here and first of all I wanted to say how pleased I am to have found this site and how very useful I'm finding it! I live in a rural location in the UK and so I very seldom hire - maybe once or at most twice a year and usually when I schedule a trip to London. My next trip is at the end of November which seems aeons away but, anyway, my question is...I really like fragrance and its second nature to me to wear it and, so far, its never been an issue, as far as I know! My last provider, back in May, actually said I smelled really nice...although he also asked if I took drugs as that's what it reminded him of!! Since reading this forum though, I'm not so sure going forward. I know that what might smell nice to me might not to someone else and there's also the question of a mouthful of chemicals to deal with so do you reckon its better to go without for a meet? The same goes for deodorant?
Perhaps I'm also confused because, at the moment, I'm not sure what I want him to smell like! I like the idea of 'gym sweat' or 'musky' or such like and when I finally met my last provider (after a fairly chaotic weekend of postponements) it was in the morning and I'm pretty certain he hadn't showered since the day before so he was fairly ripe in the pits and crotch...and I think I kind of liked it! Just not sure if I want to smell like that!
Anyway, sorry for rambling a bit and thanks for any input on whether to use anything and what to smell of when you meet!

Recent photos are always good, within the last year at least! Preferably some 'real' ones included as opposed to just studio shots. Face pics are nice but if not, its good to know if the provider is happy to send one if they feel you're serious about booking
Rates are welcome so I'm not wasting the provider's time
This last one's difficult to quantify but if the description manages to convey that he's a 'nice guy' with a good sense of humour, then I'm there!
