That's a good point. One of you might see a hot guy and want to deviate from your rules in real time. My suggestion would be to agree to stick to the rules first time out. Then when you get home, talk about it and discuss if you might want to try something a bit different next time. I know in my own instance, my comfort level with group scenes changed over time.

I think a bath house could work. If you guys are just wanting to play with each other in public and be watched, that takes out the issue of some guys being interested in one of you and not the other (or vice versa, one of you being interested in a particular guy but the other not so much). Like @Simon Suraci says, my experience is most people are respective of boundaries. Having been to bath houses and sex clubs for many years now, I think people have indeed become more respectful of saying no. If you guys are just wanting to be watched, you can even say that to someone: "No thanks, we just like being watched, but you're welcome to watch!" But like @pubic_assistance says, I too like others joining in. When my guy and I go out, I'm much more open to others joining than he is... and as a result, I get more action. If a guy wants to suck my dick, who am I to say no? 🤣

FF - A fetish with limited appeal - or is it?
nate_sf replied to viewing ownly's topic in Questions About Hiring
Don’t knock it ‘til you try it. It can be a challenge to get past the mental block of doing it or having it done to, but there’s a lot of pleasure to be had down there. 😈 -
I agree with the others, it's a function that the rates are visible so guys set their rates in line with their peers. When I was in London last summer I had no idea what to charge, so looked at what everyone else was charging and set my rate in the middle. This is at least the case with escorts. For masseurs, I found way more variation. It would depend on the type of massage and the hotness of the masseur.

Providers/Masseurs having partners - how do they / you feel?
nate_sf replied to Callas's topic in Questions About Hiring
When I’m with a client my full focus is on him, so I don’t mention anything about my partner. But if he asks, then yes I let him know. My guy was also an escort and masseur once upon a time, and knowing that it somehow makes more sense to some clients. -
For what it's worth, this is why I've always had a regular payroll gig alongside my escort work (except for a few years in the early aughts). It inhibits flexibility and availability to travel, but at least I know basic needs will be met. Escort income can cover those surprise expenses, or make life easier in an expensive city like SF. Fortunately in the new world of being able to work remotely (at least some of the time), the ability to travel has become easier.

This sounds like a fun gig. A couple of years ago I was hired by one of the bars in the Castro to be their event photographer for their NYE party. It was lots of fun, and I loved engaging with the patrons. It was also hard work, and I was exhausted at the end. I collected a few phone numbers, some from people who wanted to get copies of their pics, and others who wanted to hook up. I also exchanged contact info with one of the gogo dancers who wanted to get new pics for his socials. However with these contacts I didn't hawk my escort services, as it would have seemed out of context and might have reflected badly on the bar. So I'd think the one thing to think through (if you haven't already) is that if you give out your number, how will the guest know whether it's in the context of being for hire, versus interest in a hookup? Admittedly, it shouldn't be as big a surprise that the speedo-clad host is available for hire, but probably good to think through how this might play out. In any event, have fun!

Maybe if you’re not already, require them to confirm on day of? Like those text’s restaurants send asking for to reply “Y” to confirm. But I’d just chalk it up to December being lousy. I remember years ago a stereo store in Berkeley would end their ads “Come see us in Berkeley. No snow, but plenty of flakes!”
-
WOW right back at ya! I always wonder if people remember me from long ago, and I wonder what happened to guys I met all those years ago. Needless to say, I look a bit different these days than I did when I started!

December is a weird month, and this December seems especially weird. People are wrapped up with holiday stuff, and thereby flakey. I wouldn't base a change in business operations on this month alone. Maybe try with deposits for the rest of this month for new clients. Call it a deposit to hold the reservation during this "busy time." See how it goes and decide whether to keep at it or let it go once we're past the holidays.

When I was a young pup just getting started I advertised in the back of the Bay Area Reporter, with a line ad. No pic at all! Those were different times for sure.

Hiring an escort to meet out in public?
nate_sf replied to Starlight77's topic in Questions About Hiring
I've been the "dinner date" for guys a few times, where we've met with their friends but he did not disclose the nature of our relationship. We'd agree to a cover story. I don't think this is a hugely unusual scenario, probably happens more than one might imagine. I'll admit these situations can be a bit weird, particularly the deceptive part. I know for the clients, they honestly want me to meet people they're close to, and I enjoy meeting them for sure, but I also wonder what those people are thinking of who this person (me) is and where did I really come from. Perhaps I'm just the latest guy to sit at the table, part of a long line of others before and after me 😉 I don't think those critical here are being judgy as much as they're just focusing on what happens if the best friend buddy finds out he's been deceived. I know when I've discovered when a friend has deceived me, it's put a damper on the relationship. Could there be a scenario where the hiring was more out in the open, along the lines of the Big Bang Theory clip? Probably not, unless you guys are really good friends, and he wouldn't be put off by the idea of hiring a guy. Another thought... impress your friend by approaching a guy you like in the bar and saying hello. For me, it's taken years to get the guts to do that myself... kinda like jumping into the chilly swimming pool, don't think about it, just dive in and do it. -
RentMen Payment Confirmation for Escorts?
nate_sf replied to londonmark99's topic in Questions About Hiring
For what it’s worth, RM does indeed start some of their texts with “hey”. When my most recent sponsor placement expired I got a text that read “Hey, RentMen Sponsor has been completed. RM Media”. Some texts start with “Hello”. But I haven't been asked to provide any other documentation... yet 🤨 -
I did a video with him a while back. Loads of fun and a fantastic bod. Worth the trip to SJ.

Oh yes I forgot about that! Daddy carried the tradition on for a while too.

Since 2002 for me. 22 years! Fair to say this site and the folks here have been important to me.

Have a look at lodgeny.com. I haven’t been to any myself but I subscribe to their emails.

I prefer to buy my the tickets myself and get reimbursed. Sometimes the client sends the reimbursement in advance, other times I receive it when we meet. I've never had a problem getting reimbursed. As @BenjaminNicholas mentions, it's a leap of faith from both sides. It's worked for me just fine.

OF porn star mourns death of his pet Peanut the Squirrel
nate_sf replied to Ali Gator's topic in The Lounge
His Gofundme has now raised more than $200K towards a $300K goal. Nice work if you can get it! The squirrel was cute, so it's a shame it came to this. Not sure I'd want to keep a racoon as a pet though... sure they're cute, but also quite scary. -
Yes, you can filter. First, click on the little round magnifying glass icon on rent.men or rentmen.eu and enter the city you want to search. Then, click on the little icon next to it that shows the three lines (see below). You can then filter by position, age, etc.

I agree it seems predatory to solicit day laborers for sex when they're out there looking for more conventional labor gigs. Sex work is not the same thing as hauling, landscaping, etc. It's a big leap, and gets into things like their sexual identity, family and marital status, etc. I'd expect if a guy was hired for a conventional labor gig and was interested in providing sexual services, he'd make it known, especially if he knows the client is gay. But otherwise it's too much of a leap. The other thing is I've found the guys tend to cluster together at the hiring sites. That's probably as much for their own safety more than anything. So it would be weird to go up to a group of guys to solicit. This just seems more like fantasy fodder.

Anyone shopping for condos in California nowadays will find this kind of HOA fee not too unusual, particularly for older complexes that are in need of major repairs just as a factor of the age of the buildings. Roofing, repairing degrading balconies and decks, water intrusion, replacing windows, repairing pools, not to mention maintaining the grounds. Also, the State is now requiring HOAs to carry larger reserves, so these higher fees are meant to build up the reserves rather than requiring people to shell out an assessment when big repairs are needed. On top of that, insurance costs have increased significantly. I'm told the costs are triple what they were just a few years ago. $1200 is definitely on the high end, but it's not unusual to find HOA fees in the range of $700-$900 per month on a 1970s or 1980s vintage condo. But with all that, factor the cost of maintaining a single family home of the same vintage. My husband and I own a house in SF and regularly need to shell out for repairs and maintenance. We just repainted the house this year, replaced the crumbling driveway, and now the sewer lateral needs replacing. $$$
