MsGuy reacted to JayCeeKy in Best Pick Up Lines
I liked George Hamilton's pickup line:
"Wanna get a drink? Or would you rather just have the money?"

How do you get a nun pregnant?
Dress her as an altar boy.

I am fluent in "conversant" French and know kitchen Swedish from grandparents. Also, learned basic Italian last summer when I could not get the navigator in rental Mercedes to speak English. I am fluent in Italian as long as it is (1) follow the road for XXX kilometers, and (2) take the next exit on your R/L

Sometimes using it as a bully stick is very effective. Drug Courts are great.

Yup. You receive an email the day of delivery that has images of the mail that will be delivered that day. I your case, the images would depict decayed and flaked envelopes.

MsGuy got a reaction from Cooper in After more than 60 years, The Village Voice folds
One ad I read in 1967, I can still quote to this day:
"Multiple amputee seeks same for fun and games."
Funny how something like that can stick in your brain.

This was my go to newspaper for topics on Gay news & entertainment . Used to always cut out the discount coupon for the Gaiety. Before the internet & sites like Grindr the Classifieds were the way to meet people.
Sad to read that their on-line news will also be closing.
RIP Village Voice.

MsGuy reacted to + José Soplanucas in My 5,000th Post!!!
I can confirm marylander is timed out for posting pictures breaking the rules. Apparently someone reported him to the Admins, just as he does with Gindr hustlers. Sweet irony.
He is right now ruining the boytoy experience.

MsGuy got a reaction from + Avalon in The Five Basic Tastes
Umami is the name coined by the Japanese chemist who first discovered around 1906 that glutamates impart a distinct meaty or brothy flavor to food. Like yours, my school texts only showed 4 basic tastes, probably because folks in the West were much not much inclined to credit that a slanty-eyed, buck toothed Jap could possibly know more than us about anything scientific.
I remember puzzling over this very question back in high school and again in college (1960's). My personal direct experience seemed to indicate that meats and broths had a taste that did not reduce to some combination of salty, sweet, bitter and sour, but there it was in the books and who was I to question received wisdom?

MsGuy reacted to bnm73 in Escorting is NOT all about the internet....a true story
Strangely, he doesn't look like the guy did when he was working, but he had been out of the porn industry for some time before we went to the club. The name was not from the "current" batch of porn stars. For those who have watched a lot of porn (or perhaps those who prefer older porn) the name would have been familiar.
Strangely, my friend is several years younger than he would have had to be were he working in porn during the era that his namesake was active...but, given his popularity that night, the name was familiar enough to still be recognizable.
Maybe the patrons had been drinking just enough to recognize the name but not think about whether this might be the same guy or not....but when they come up and said "aren't you so-and-so" and got an affirmative answer, maybe hopeful thinking took over.
I don't pretend to understand the why-fors and how-tos. On that night, in that club, under those circumstances, he could have made quite a bit of money if he had wanted to.

MsGuy reacted to bnm73 in Funeral Joke
An old man was on his deathbed, with his closest, dearest, oldest friend at his side.
"Jimmy," he croaked, "I am not long for this world. In the bottom drawer of my dresser is a bottle of whiskey. I've been saving it for 70 years. When I die, could you pour it on my grave?"
"Of course," said Jimmy, "but would you mind terribly much if it passed through my kidneys first?"

MsGuy reacted to _spark_ in ON paid out in Pennies
Geez, currency and commodity exchange rates? Too much math. I'm going to lean expressive rather than exacting here.
One of the best tips I ever got back in my stripping days came from this youngish guy with some type of developmental disability (I'm guessing) who wandered in with this wild-eyed, I-can't-believe-what-I'm-doing look on his face suggesting that he had only been able to sneak off to the strip club after, perhaps, giving his group-home field trip chaperone the slip. In any event, when I hopped off the stage and onto his lap to give him a little up-close dance, he grinned so wide that I thought the top of his head might fall off.
His attention stayed pretty much laser-focused on me as I did my bump-and-grind routine, but every so often, he'd pause, furrow up his brows, and plunge his hands into his pockets, only to pull them back out after a short moment of rooting around so as to shove a sweaty fistful of change into my boot. Normally, on all but the slowest nights, anything less than a twenty was not likely get me to stay around very long, but this guy would flash me an upwards glance and expression that, I swear, was straight out of Oliver Twist. How could I say no? I wound up staying on his lap for about half of my set.
So, the market exchange rate for all those coins shoved into my boot circa the early 90s? Who knows; maybe a coffee and a pack of gum. Having the opportunity to try to give this guy the ride of his life? Priceless.

That is incorrect. Twin studies show exactly the opposite. Among identical twins separated at birth, there is a high concordance rate for sexual orientation.

I've missed your posts--and I know I'm not alone. I’ve thought about you and your family multiple times since your last post, but most recently it was on the day before Mother's Day. What put me in mind of you was that my 7 year old fraternal twin nephews had their 1st piano recital after about 8 months of lessons. It was a large recital. There were at least 20 students. The twins were adorable. They both had on collared long sleeve shirts and baggy off-white pants. Twin A had a tie on that extended way down past the waist of his pants. Twin B had a bow tie on. Twin A played his piece. Then Twin B came up, and they played a duet, "Zum Gali," an Israeli folk song. Then Twin A sat down, and Twin B played his piece.

So much of what is said in this forum is about 'me, me, me'. We talk about the things we want to do, our sexual ideas, we talk about our political ideas (and defend them to the point of obsession). We focus on ourselves. We resent things that don't affirm us. And then we read @BasketBaller's latest recounting of the Plebe, the de Paul twin, and whatever else. That points us in a different direction. It elevates our souls. I feel that I know him and his boys, I rejoice in their every-day reactions and what they do. I know it's not all plain sailing but I like to think that we have their backs. I for one look forward to the next paths they take.
