I have mixed feelings about this - it has happened to me frequently though perhaps not on this scale.
on the one hand we are donating for providers time - regardless of what goes on.
but there’s an element of liberty taking if choose to extend time (separate from if extra time is needed because of client choice or approval)
I try to clarify why we are going over whenever it happens and nip it in the bud when it’s clear there is expectation of extra $. happily there have been many occasions where we have gone over because the provider said something like “I have nothing else, let’s keep going” or “I’m enjoying this as well” or most graciously “we lost time because I did xyz so let me make it up to you” - but I don’t expect it to be the norm

Thank you. I don’t want to elaborate beyond what I’ve posted. I take prep and went to get a prescription for PEP but was told it wasn’t necessary because I haven’t missed doses. I do have to be celibate for a while which I’m not super pleased about.

I find that to be evil on a level that is hard to comprehend. 

I’ve learnt the painful way (being publicly shamed and losing a friend who was insulted by my ignorance) that I needed to get familiar with the science of undetectable status.
As with prep, It can take some getting used to if you’re from the generation that was told condoms are the only barrier between you and potential death. 
Anyone active not familiar with what undetectable means should read and research, don’t just rely on us here.
But remember, relying on someone just relaying their status (undetectable or on prep) should not be sufficient even if it is 100% accurate as of the date they received results (and I’ve come across many who’ve lied for whatever reason). 

As I’ve related elsewhere I’ve frequently had providers refuse to meet because of a conversation on playing safe before confirming (even though their profile says they offer it), or trying to get me to change my mind once we do meet even if they’ve agreed. 
I carry my own because I’ve lost count of how many providers don’t have them but have every other exotic product, toy, etc you can think of. I sometimes get a bit of satisfaction quashing that brief glint of “I don’t have any, damn, we’ll have to go ahead without them”.

I hired him Friday night. 
He was supposed to come at 1am after finishing a massage client. 
He got there at 2am. He left at 5am. 
I wouldn’t hire him again BUT! 
He came over after agreeing to what I wanted to do and neither of us had lube.

However I’ve found a polite no after a high quote is often followed by the request for a negotiation or the offer of a discount.
My favorite recent one:
- starts at $500 (around 10am) - my “no” is followed by a series of “i Know my worth, I have no problem finding quality clients who have the means etc”
- goes down to $350 (around 2pm)
- goes down to $250 (around 8pm)
- text in the middle of the night, “I really need this appointment and think so do you, $150 if you can get here in the next hour”
 

That is definitely rape.  I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you, @Keenan.   

And if the clients, at some point in time, can’t or won’t pay those prices  … market forces suggest those rates should come down. It’s not what the escorts, established or otherwise, set, it’s what the market tolerates. This is the US, not USSR  
And of course this means the prices should go up in the opposite scenario.
 

Let’s not forget Man’s Country at 28 W. 15th St. in Manhattan. This multistory bathhouse had, among other things, a full size trailer truck on the premises.  Those were the days!!

Yes I saw her perform there in the early/mid-70s. I went there with 3 friends (we were all in black tie) and it was quite a surreal experience, mingling with many near-naked men while she sang (rather well as I recall).

Analogy is the gourmet restaurant at the end of the day selling things at markdown rather than throwing them away (which they might have done in the past in less inflationary times)
$150/hour, last minute, your rate goes back to whatever it was when people ask and jn the morning … is better than zero

I disagree. A professional smart working guy will never offer discounts or devaluate himself when the night comes. Night time is when they make the most money. Most have real jobs and work as escorts as an add on anyway.

The RM market doesn't care if your rents are skyrocketing. It only cares about what clients are willing to pay.
We need constant reminders that this is an economic situation, not a moral one.

Yes. For market research purposes and continuing professional development, and for that reason the cost is tax deductible. 
Sometimes I also collaborate with other providers for filming purposes. That’s free of course because we both get content. 
And then there’s the friends who do sex work who I sometimes play with.
