⚠️Warning: this is long. Here are a few hot tips for finding skilled masseurs, who may (or may NOT) also happen to offer sensual, erotic, or escort services. 1) Start with referrals from people who have seen men they like and trust to deliver quality massage services. I refer my new and existing clients to other good masseurs when I can’t see them for some reason like a schedule conflict. If the masseur you’re reaching out to is unavailable, don’t be afraid to ask him for a referral. Be patient. The best guys are popular and are worth waiting for and scheduling around. 2) Leverage CoM. Gather as much info as possible on masseurs you’re interested in. When none exists, post a new thread. Ask specific questions: Opinions i.e. Is he good? Rate his massage Facts i.e. does he use a professional table? A client here may hesitate on writing an opinion on the masseur’s work overall, but it’s easy to answer a yes/no question like does he use a table? Or was his space clean? 3) Read his ad. No, really. Do it. Actually read the entire ad. Does he have a business website or links to socials? Does he advertise elsewhere? Review those. So many clients view the photos and go straight to clicking the contact button, never bothering to reference the rest of the info the masseur has already provided. 4) Evaluate: Does the masseur provide enough information to give you a good idea of what to expect? Or is it a short, cryptic blurb? More information is a good sign. From there, glean as much as you can pertaining to the rest of these points. 5) Does he have formal training, such as a license or certification required in his home jurisdiction? Education is not everything. Plenty of bad masseurs have formal training, and plenty of good masseurs have informal or no training. In general, more of the good ones have professional training and list their documentation on their ads. Keep in mind, many gay masseurs use an alias for legitimate safety reasons, so they may not be willing to present their documentation listing their full legal name. It just depends if they work in spas or practice privately. 6) What are his jobs? Is he a full time masseur, or is this just a side gig? Is he a porn star or a fan site content creator? How much of his time does he spend doing those vs massage? Knowing these answers gives you a general sense of his availability and priorities. Is he likely to flake on you because he is a popular performer filming a last minute shoot? Or is it reasonable for you to request a massage at 2pm on a Tuesday knowing he works 8-5 M-F? Check whatever schedule he lists on his ads and respect it. The full time masseur guys are more likely to be good at their work. There are exceptions. For a time, I only worked my massage business on nights and weekends, but then demand overtook my schedule and it didn’t make sense for me to have two jobs anymore. 7) How much experience does he have? Years? Months? Is that full time, or part time? 5+ years of experience is a good sign. That means a guy taking two years out of high school to get certified at 20 years old will be at LEAST 25 years old by the time you see him. Younger guys can be good, but you’re more likely to get a guy who knows what he’s doing in his late 20s to early 30s and beyond. Some start their massage careers later, so it’s not purely about age. Experience matters. 8)That leads me to my next point. Stop hiring based on LOOKS. Get a list of good providers together and compare them based on SKILLS. Then once you narrow your list, you can consider looks. You can’t reasonably compare the hot muscled 22 year old shirtless guy having no experience and mixed reviews with the 50 year old out of shape guy with a shirt on, tons of experience, and a great track record. It’s apples and oranges. I completely understand the desire to have a hot (often younger) guy touching you for an hour or more, and your desire to perhaps touch him too. However, you can’t reasonably expect every hot guy to be good at massages. He knows he’s hot and he’s using that against you. Prioritize skills over looks. Consider looks AFTER you have a shortlist of skilled providers. Your body and mind will thank you. 9) Professionalism. Find what you can to indicate his level of professionalism. How does he communicate? Is he consistent and reliable? Is he reasonable? Does he get back to you promptly or within a reasonable period? Does he have boundaries and stick to them? Does he lay out his rates and services clearly? Does he use an automatic booking system like Square or Booksy? The pros use these types of systems. It also indicates he is organized. 10) Rates. Is he charging appropriate rates for your market? Exorbitant rates indicate escort services thinly veiled as ‘massage’, or scams where the masseur is hot but provides neither a skilled massage nor escort services. 11) Do you like the guy as a person? Find what you can about him online and see if you would click as human beings. Do you respect him? If he has an interview, read it. 12) Reviews. This one is tricky. TRY to look past the vague descriptions and overexcited OPINIONS and look for FACTS. Clues in the reviews tell you how easy he is to communicate with, what equipment he uses, techniques he employs, massage styles he’s trained in, his general knowledge base, and how he delivers his services. Some clients post specific issues in their body the masseur addressed successfully, which is a good sign. The better impression you get on all these points, the more promising he is. 13) See where he advertises. MasseurFinder is no guarantee he will be professional or skilled, but chances are he will be. He may share more on one platform than another. For example, MasseurFinder uses algorithms to screen out even a hint of sexual content providers try to include. On RentMasseur, he may show a full frontal photo with an erection, indicating exactly what is on offer. This is not necessarily a red flag, but it is bad when there is nothing else in his ads to indicate he has experience offering professional massage services. Are the only photos he posts designed primarily to show off his body or suggest sex acts? Or does he present himself as someone capable of giving a quality massage? 14) Why does he do this work? Does he love it and find fulfillment in it? Does he actually care about his clients? If you know the answers form his ads, that’s promising. 15) This is controversial, but I’ll say it anyway. Try straight providers. Not “straight” providers advertising on gay sites. I mean mainstream massage therapists who see all genders. I know a great one in my office building. He drapes and stays clothed and he’s licensed. He’s married (to a woman) with kids. He’s EXCELLENT. Among the best. I don’t have any thoughts or anxieties about getting aroused or “getting my money’s worth” in terms of sexual interaction with him. He’s cute, but I know nothing is going to happen and that’s a relief in some ways because I know what to expect and I can relax and fully enjoy a high quality massage without any agenda on his end or mine. His rates are very reasonable, and his skill level is top notch. Getting a few of these legit massages will help some of you learn how to be more objective about selecting and evaluating good masseurs advertising on gay sites. When you have had excellent work before, you know what to look for and it helps you get better at picking the good ones, and recognizing when you’ve found a gem.

We represent a minority of masseurs who take their jobs very seriously, do it professionally, and genuinely love what we do. It’s difficult to find men offering skilled massages. The other percentage of the client pool cares a lot about getting skilled therapy, but among those, 99% of them still hire heavily based on looks. It’s a market issue, not an advertiser issue. The men advertising are offering exactly the range of what clients are demanding! You are the market. If y’all want gay sites catering specifically to therapeutic only, demand something different. MasseurFinder is the best one for therapeutic only. Admittedly I advertise there and still offer a full range from therapeutic draped, clothed etc to full on escort services. I am probably an outlier in that respect. MF is the most crazy expensive to advertise on and I get the fewest clients from it 🤷‍♂️

Because clients do not respect boundaries. Many of you here feel like you would never cross a masseur’s boundaries. Great. In real life that’s not what actually happens. That’s one of the primary reasons I started escorting. Putting a price on sexual activities was a more effective boundary than simply saying ‘no’. I lost fewer clients that way and I made equitable pay for the percentage of clients that truly value my services enough to pay fair rates for them. The answer in the old threads is the same then as it is now: it varies widely by masseur. No standard exists. The only way to answer this question is to ask your masseur directly. Use specific language when you ask like, “Is mutual touch ok?” “Will you be nude?”, “Is a happy ending included?”, “Will you do X, Y, or Z?”. NOT vague or open ended questions like: “What is included with your massage?” For those uncomfortable with asking specific questions, hire him and find out.

Same here Jamie, same here. I did therapeutic only for lower rates once upon a time but for exactly this reason I raised my rates and stopped offering therapeutic only massages. To be clear, we don’t need to know your real identity. Your concern is valid and reasonable. Most clients are fine. A minority of really bad actors cause us so much grief and that’s who we want so badly to avoid. For some providers, knowing your real identity puts their concerns at ease because they can check it and make sure you’re not a bad guy. That’s where it stops. They are not out to call you by your real name in public or out you to your family or anything like that. You will hear about this kind of thing happening on the forums because it’s sensational and plays into your fears, your fight or flight response. The vast majority of providers would never do something to compromise you or your identity in any way. Our livelihoods depend on maintaining a good reputation. Such behavior would damage a provider’s reputation irreparably. The only thing we care about is if you’re safe, reliable, and respectful in your business dealings. I’m thinking of a smaller cadre of bad actor clients. This client makes efforts to conceal his identity in hopes of continuing to mistreat providers while avoiding detection. We do our best to warn one another of the bad guys, but when they keep deliberately changing their numbers or other contact method, it’s more difficult for us to screen them out. Bad actors: hire services and refuse to pay ask endless questions and never book contact us for amusement send us harassing messages no-show for their appointments cancel last minute and rebook their appointment multiple times in a row haggle/low-ball us stalk us lack hygiene and refuse to correct it use violence or threaten violence refuse to take responsibility for their own sexual health …among other bad behaviors

It goes both ways. No two providers are exactly the same. There is no standard. I can’t represent all others. Sometimes I contact providers and the messages don’t go through because they are using a burner app that censors explicit content. They don’t get the message so they think I ghosted them after exchanging initial uncensored messages. Meanwhile I think the same about them ghosting me, until I confirm they didn’t get the message and reword the message and send it again so that it will go through.

Some escorts will only reply to real numbers with (or without) information connected to the number confirming someone’s identity. Burner numbers and VoIP numbers do not make the cut. It signals that you have something to hide. This is one way to vet, although it’s a very wide net to cast. You can only see a fraction of good, legitimate clients through this method. To some extent, numbers not specifically associated with an apple iPhone mobile device an escort might exclude, especially younger escorts. Think blue bubble vs green. This honestly makes no sense to me, but some guys operate this way. I don’t take these approaches myself, and disagree that anyone should take them. I’m just saying it happens. What happened to you above may have nothing to do with negative comments on a forum or an app. It could possibly be due solely to the fact that you used a VoIP and for any number of the above reasons the escort you contacted screened you out. We literally live and die by the clients we see and the risks we accept when we choose to see a new person knowing very little information about them. We screen through various methods, as we should. You can’t fault us for that. The particulars of how we go about it are more nuanced. The process varies widely from guy to guy. By the way, I believe some level of client privacy, anonymity, and discretion is a reasonable expectation. Not every escort is a model of good professional conduct. Therefore clients need to measure their risk tolerance in seeing different providers and about what they share and how much they share. Risk goes both ways in hiring. Neither party wants to be harmed by the other.

First rule of fight club is to not talk about fight club. Sharing information like this with clients is a no-no. It defeats the whole purpose of having private escort forums. There is no need for the escort to share the types of information you mention here. What matters is personal safety, avoiding scams, violence, stalkers, no-showers, and unserious clients. Repeat offenders of any of these we need to know about to help us avoid wasting our time and minimize risk. Being cheap (which is only an opinion, not a “fact”), is not a compelling thing to share about a client. Refusing to pay for services rendered is a valid issue to discuss. While cheap clients may be annoying, clients are annoying in many other ways that don’t merit discussion. That’s just part of the job. Pros can handle all kinds of quirks and challenges clients present. The good guys - the providers worth your time and money - will recognize the comments for what they are and not take them seriously. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Immature escorts whine and complain and make fun of clients over frivolous things and share sensitive personal information in a semi-public setting like a restricted access online forum. This is unprofessional behavior. Some of the younger guys will make these mistakes. Clients often want the looks of a 20 something but expect the maturity level and experience of a 30, 40, or 50 something. Those two groups have very little overlap on a Venn diagram.

^ I can’t emphasize your point enough. Just because there is no info on a provider here doesn’t mean they are bad or good. It just means nobody has taken the time to go out of their way to write something publicly about a particular provider on this specific platform. Very few of you clients actually know of it and use the site with any frequency. Think of commentary here like the tip of an iceberg. For every one mention on here, that provider has seen at least hundreds of other clients. For every one of my RentMasseur reviews, for instance, I have seen at least many dozens, if not hundreds of other clients between one review and the next. The people seeing a provider and not reviewing could all be stellar experiences, or they could be more mixed. You never know. All you see is the tip of that iceberg. I hire massages from time to time and benefit quite a bit from commentary here. I have a pretty good read on things being a masseur myself, so I don’t put too much stock in any one comment or member. I rely on my intuition more, but consistent good comments inspire me to try someone I had never considered or heard of before. It can sway me when I’m on the fence too. I’ve spent more time in the deli section lately as a client agent doing the work of vetting and arranging new providers for clients. I try to steer clients toward the professionals with a positive track record here along with following my own gut instincts, which are usually right. Not every CoM client is taking the time to contribute. Newbie providers as well as experienced professionals may lack mention here, either by chance or by design. Some providers know about the site and have asked for their threads to be taken down over the years. So often we see a repeated “bump” in a provider thread containing no info because nobody is willing to risk time and money on a provider without a track record here. This forum is a give and take. Count the number of times you avoided a bad hire or had a great experience with a good hire because of your research on CoM. Now count how many times you contributed to threads based on your experience, especially when you were the first to “take the plunge” and share about it. If that second number is vanishingly small (or zero) compared to the first number, you should reconsider your expectations and use of the site. It only works when we all make an effort to contribute. Don’t just take. Give. Same goes for the members who “bump” dozens of times for every one time they contribute. You are doing a lot of asking, and not a lot of answering. The site will serve everyone better when more of us take time to contribute. You don’t need to have a binary horrible / amazing experience to write useful commentary. Sometimes middle of the road, “adequate”, “met my expectations” kinds of comments can help too. These create some sense of safety for other clients to try a provider and perhaps have better experiences than yours. This work is not easy. Not everyone is good at it. Not every provider can knock it out of the park every single time. Experiences vary, even from one meeting to the next with the same client.

I said my peace. I’ll move on, back to the topic at hand. As @ReynST mentioned, a booking system helps a lot for incall massages. It’s really easy for clients to view my availability and book their own appointments whenever they want. They can do it in the middle of the night when I wouldn’t be responding to texts. Everything is automated, so the client gets the info they need and I get a notification. I send a quick confirmation message too whenever I have a free moment and that’s that. Easy. With my booking system, clients don’t have to text me every time if they don’t want to, but by and large texting is still the most popular way for new and existing clients to book appointments. Regulars already know me, so they aren’t asking a bunch of the typical new client questions about services, cost, and location. Since all they need to know is my availability, the booking system is convenient for them. Most regulars still text though. Booking systems are underrated and underused. Where booking systems tend to fall short: 1. Outcall appointments. The client really needs to tell me where and when they want their massage for me to estimate travel time, factoring in traffic and appropriate padding time on the front and back ends. Clients do not want to plug in so much specific information. My app is not sophisticated enough yet to do this for me either. Sometimes I make a judgement call based on distance and where I will be for work or personal life before and after their proposed appointment. For example, doing an outcall on my way home or on my way to work vs a far-flung outcall in the middle of the day that would put me in bad traffic on the way back to the studio. 2. Escort services. The client doesn’t know what I have going on, so on paper it may look like I am available at such-and-such a time, but I may not be able to fulfill all of their requests without some kind of communication first. I would need some specifics to be able to prepare, like maybe I need to bring toys or gear, or prep to bottom, or make sure I am optimally ready to top. Maybe I have another client after them that would not be a good idea to do back-to-back. Lots of reasons. Text seems to still be best for escort services, although I will still book it in my system after the fact. 3. Last minute requests. Sometimes I am at the studio available to take a client right away. Other times I may be at home, at the gym, fulfilling an outcall, or other. The client will see availability two hours ahead of whatever time they are viewing their screen. That gives them the chance to book automatically while giving me sufficient notice to get from wherever I am back to the studio and prep the space before they arrive. This wouldn’t work for the client requesting something within the hour. In that case, text is best, but no guarantees I can respond. I might be working or otherwise unable to text back right away. There is no perfect system for every provider or every client. Booking systems are a great underused tool though. They make life so much easier for everyone when clients use them. Take advantage of whatever tools you can to streamline your process. If you primarily do incall massages, I highly recommend investing in a booking system.

Of course I would! I want my clients to feel valued and cared for. I wouldn’t be taking that many escort clients in a day anyway. If I can’t offer quality service, I won’t take the appointment, period. The donut meme upthread is funny, but frankly it’s a myth. I’m not having sex with every client, and of those, chances are I’m topping. Honestly it’s mostly massage, and that’s my strong point. I’m great at sex, but you have way hotter options around in NYC for sex and fewer men who can give a high quality massage. That’s where I shine. Delivering a quality experience is very important to me, whether for massage or escorting. That’s why I tap out at 5 or 6 massages in a day, and of those appointments, only one or two, if any, would be escort clients. Plus I am washing my hands up to the elbows like a medical professional and/or showering between clients. Hygiene is not the issue here, nor my energy level. I have quite a bit of stamina but I know myself well enough to notice my massage quality goes down after 6 clients. That’s why I cap my daily max and stop taking clients. I deliver quality. So no, whatever you have in your heads about being the sixth client of the day probably isn’t a fair or accurate picture of what’s actually happening when I travel. I do a good job. I’m responsible. I can’t say that for your other hires, but I can confidently say this about the way I operate.

To clarify, you mean providers who have already taken one or more loads in their ass not long before they start an appointment with a client, correct? Or moreso in general for hookups? In my mind, they are two different things, with different norms and expectations around each. In my experience clients are divided on this. The minority really love the idea of a guy being pre-loaded, the more cum (volume) and the greater number of loads, the better. The majority are grossed out by the thought, either from a risk management standpoint or just generally the idea of their man not being “clean”, or being someone’s leftovers or sloppy seconds/thirds/etc. No judgment from me. Bump. One of my clients is interested in hiring him for a group. Any information besides speculation about age and photo upload dates? Like…stuff that matters way more to the overall experience than if he’s 30 something or 40 something. Who cares! As long as he looks reasonably similar in person to the way he advertises… Is he reliable? Does he perform well with his clients? Charm? Personality?
