I've a collection of porn DVD's left over from my addiction to porn years ago. There's maybe 50 items. I severally culled the collection once before moving it here. Now I just want to get rid of it. I'm too lazy and ignorant of e-bay and its like and suspect they've little value anyway. I guess I can shred the disks but disposing of the boxes is more problematic here in south Texas. Any suggestions? Thanks

When I got rid of my DVDs, I spray painted the disks black to cover the labels, and scratched or cut the disk so they couldn't be played. I recycled them where I normally dispose of used disks and CDs. Then I took the artwork out of the cases, shredded them, and dumped the cases at a plastic recycler.

Unless you're ashamed of having them (and unless you can readily sell them - unlikely that you can do that) why do you need to get rid of them? Are you afraid that having them in the house might rekindle your addiction? Keep them and look at one or two every so often. If you really must dispose of them, throwing them in the garbage will get them out of the house, and is unlikely to link them to you. If even that is too risky, burn them and ignore the pollution effects. Even just melting them and their containers will make them anonymous.

Put them in a nicely gift wrapped box and ship them to the US Naval Observatory, Washington DC, attn: Michael R Pence.

I left a set of very compromising papers under someone's carpet once (I was very young) knowing she wasn't particularly houseproud. I used to put all my old porn mags, bar rags and videos in the church drop box....but I also have boxes of old vhs and dvd porn and not a clue where to dump it. So many businesses with dumpsters also have security cameras.

Come on Ben!! You know South Texas better than that. What closeted macho Latino south of Cortulla will walk up to a table at a public flea market and buy gay porn? And even if they did it would unlikely be worth my while to sit out in the hot sun all those hours to man such a table for the few pesos I’d get.

I had more than 300 classic falcon, mustang, Club 1821, French Cadinot VHS tapes gathering dust in my utility closet. A few summers ago, i converted these VHS tapes to DVDs, which in turn I converted to mp4s and uploaded them to the cloud, along with old IRS filings and machine/gadget warantees/instructions. Have not looked at them still...lol. After copying them, i threw bags the VHS tapes in different locations throughout chelsea while walking the dog. I did not want to drop them in my own buildings trash room for some reason....

A couple of thoughts:

• Just remove the paper insert and shred it.
  
• That said, why can't you put the DVDs and the cases into a trash bag and deposit it into the trash can on garbage collection day. Do you have people who tear through your trash?

I am perplexed as to why you would not just put them in a bag and drop them in the garbage. Failing that, bring them to Palm Springs next week and have a yard sale at Oliver's.

You could always rent a backhoe. Dig a deep hole. Get a large chest drop the cds in and fill it with cement. Take the Cemented CDs and the chest and drop them into an old car. Bring the car to a car crushing facility and have the car, the chest, the cement and the CD's crushed. Take the newly crushed hunk of metal load it onto a flatbed truck and drive it out to a wharf onto a barge. Sail the barge out to sea and let is drift. Take a submarine and then torpedo the barge with the flatbed, the fused metal from the crushed car, chest, cement and CDs. Take the sub to the bottom and use the escape hatch and scuba gear to rendez vous with a speed boat. Drive the speed boat to an isolated locale and kill the crew. Use a jet pack to motor off the speed boat and land back at your yard. Place the key in the hole and construct a swimming pool over the key.
