Thanks; I see your point. But it drives me bananas to have to log in again every time my phone goes to sleep. I'm training myself to be more diligent about backing everything up to my computer more frequently.

I've found that if I go to my RM Messages page and see the list of providers I've chatted with, if you click on their thread with you it will tell you when they've last logged onto RM, even if their profile setting is set to private. Also, two little 'check marks' next to your message will reveal whether they've been read or not. (One check mark indicates 'sent' and two check marks indicate 'sent and received'.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate your tips. I did try the SmartThings Find, and they have indeed discontinued the remote unlock feature. The fun part of my experience was trying to log into my Samsung and Google accounts. Neither of them would let me in without two-step verification. This entailed them sending me a one time pass code number via...you guessed it...TEXT! AND I COULDN'T GET TEXTS!!! On the advice from someone at U-BREAK-I-FIX, I obtained an old no longer used phone and I inserted the SIM card from MY phone. This allowed me to receive texts to my number, even though it wasn't my phone. Then I was finally able to get into my accounts. I happily found that I had indeed set up back ups for everything, including all my text threads, which I was most worried about losing. I then spent the whole afternoon on (another) phone with Samsung Tech support who finally convinced me there was no solution outside of doing a factory reset. Which deletes all my data, i.e. photos. So I reluctantly bit the bullet and went down that path, knowing at least I'd get my texts back. In the end, I was without a phone for 9 days, so I lost 9 days worth of texts that hadn't been backed up. And my pictures. But nothing heartbreaking there. And I was tasked with setting up all my 'stuff' the way it was; re-logging in to EVERYTHING. And in that process I was asked about setting up security on my phone. And it all came back to me - I distinctly remember checking "none" when I set up my phone the first time, as I did again this time. So maybe I'm NOT senile. There was never any password for me to remember in the first place! And why it kicked into 'password' mode after I performed a simple system update is a mystery I'll never solve. Anyway, thanks again for your input!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone which prompted me to do an update last week. I did so, and when I next went to use the phone I was asked to log in with my pin number. The problem is I don't HAVE a pin number! I always intentionally set up my phone to avoid that step, as I've always found it to be a pain in the ass. Perhaps when setting up the phone 3 years ago I set up a pin number under duress, but I've never used it so I don't remember it. I know what it SHOULD be, based on the passwords I use all the time, but none of my guesses work. I DO have access to my Samsung account on my computer, which so far has provided no solutions. I understand I can set a new pin number by doing a 'factory reset'. But doing so would erase all my data, and I refuse to do that. I have tons of photos and text threads I just don't want to lose!! Does anyone have any familiarity with a problem like this? I can't believe there's no simple fix. It seems so unfair.

Can a provider on rent men un-block you?

Am I correct in assuming that if you're 'just browsing' on RM without being logged into your account, that a provider does NOT get a notification if you visit their profile? Do they get some kind of tick mark of an 'anonymous' visit?

Wowie - I thought Jay Roberts stopped advertising many, many years ago! I had no idea he was back. I'd hire him in a heartbeat. (Also Adam Killian, but I have never ever seen him advertise anywhere, and I've kept my eye out for years.) https://rent.men/J_Roberts

Who WOULD you pay $1000 for one hour with?

Tee Hee, to each his own, I guess. He DOES have a short trimmed beard with no mustache - a look that I LOVE. Almost like an Amish look. He's been absent from OnlyFans for a while now. At any rate, he is my dream hire.

CBS has not only promoted the hunk Tony Dokoupil to Nightly News anchor starting Jan 5, but they've also stolen gorgeous Matt Gutman away from ABC ! Definitely taking a cue from ABC's playbook.

Providers less and less willing to unlock private pics
Boink replied to ThirdEye's topic in Questions About Hiring
Not to belabor this topic, but if they can assume that I'm a time waster / game player by innocently asking to see their private gallery, I can assume they're either friendly for opening it or UNfriendly for displaying a big red "Request Rejected" sign. Why should I risk hiring someone who shows me unfriendliness with no reason? They're being cautious, but so am I. And, being neither here nor there, I've had nice exchanges with providers whom I did NOT ask to unlock their private gallery. -
Providers less and less willing to unlock private pics
Boink replied to ThirdEye's topic in Questions About Hiring
Well then it's a "Mexican stand off", to use an old phrase. The whole RM system is set up to simply push a button and ask for pics that I assume the provider willingly makes available and uses as an enticement. THAT is my way of opening a conversation with them. And I've had plenty of providers using that opening salvo as a reason to bombard ME with requests to close a deal. My time is valuable, too. If they don't want someone using the simple push button request provided on RM, they could say in their ad "please contact me directly to see more photos" or something to that effect. -
Providers less and less willing to unlock private pics
Boink replied to ThirdEye's topic in Questions About Hiring
I generally don't ask to view the private pics unless I'm seriously considering hiring. When they DO unlock the gallery, I make it a point to thank them and THEN start a dialog and take it from there. When my request is met with a big red box that screams "Request Rejected" with no other communication or reason, whether intentional or not, it comes across as hostile and unfriendly. Like they're not interested in my business. So goodbye potential hire. I get tired of trying to prove my sincerity of interest. -
I admire(d) his ad on Rentmen, but when I put in a simple request to share his private gallery, it was denied. I never understand that business tactic. Shuts my consideration of him right down.
