There is a liquor store about 3 or 4 blocks from Canyon Club. These are long suburban blocks with little visual interest (very Palm Springs) so it is about a quarter mile walk, which in the heat carrying bottles of hooch seems farther. Someone used to walking would have no trouble. They also sell snack food. Given that the rooms have refrigerators, a group trip to a real grocery store for food and booze might be a good idea. I would be up for that.

Last year I discovered that there were no pot shops withing walking distance AND that a medical ID was required. By next April, strictly recreational shops may be in operation. Due to the largess of another guest, I was able to circumvent these obstacles.

Carrying several joints in the heat requires almost no effort. We just have to find out which guest's largesse Despardo preyed upon and work our way into his good graces.

In regards to marijuana shops, I know of one that is fully licensed with the city (C.A.P.S.) but it is pretty far from the hotels (it's near the airport). I have no idea what the scene will look like once they legalize it for recreational use . That's why I rely on Weedmaps.com for the most up to date information :) Regardless, like a good scout, I always come prepared and have a tendency to over-pack for my trips. ;)

A the moment the only pot shops we have are the medical marijuana shops where you have to have a card, but by the time of your gathering next April, should have consumer pot shops open.

Do you guys tell each other your real names during these meet-ups, or do you answer to your user-names from here? o_O (because that would be kind of weird.. to me)

It is a little bit of both, or should I say it is both. I usually intro myself as I am 'Joe', on the forum I am sam.fitzpatrick. It is usually a first name basis.

Clients, for the most part, use their given names rather than the message center handle. Escorts are a more mixed bag, if their escort name is a "normal" name, such as Tom, Dick or Harry then I found that to be the name used, however if it is not what would be considered "normal" then they they will introduce themselves as Tom, Dick or Harry, which may or may not be their given name. It is left to each individual to introduce themselves by the name they wish to be known as.

In fifteen years of attending these weekend events I think this is the first time a question has come up about what name attendees use. I have always introduced myself using my real first name. I don't recall anyone ever asking me my last name but if someone did I would probably give them my real one.

The name one chooses to use for the weekend is totally up to the individuals. My memory is wired such that I remember the "stage" name better than the "real" name, but in general, I usually forget both.

It was one of the first things I thought of... gathering together for a whole weekend and dinner at a restaurant.. do I answer to Mo, and then call you Epigonos and purplekow? I can make up a fake persona... that would be kinda fun. :)

do whatever you want, but the group is so friendly and trusty that some deception might be unusual and strange!.....many introduce themselves with real first names and then their forum handle......others first name only and then, only after some convo, the handle may emerge later......and there are several longtime attendees who already know everyone

at my first forum weekend a few years ago, I asked if nametags were used.....I was good-naturedly laughed at because it was explained there would be no place to secure the tag!

Actually, this question has come up in previous years. Since most people on this site, both clients and escorts, are usually known to others only by their "stage names", it is best to start introducing oneself by one's site name/handle, but if it is a long or unpronounceable one, most people then switch to their real first names. Last names are not necessary.

Another place some might enjoy visiting is the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Annenberg: Sunnylands. The Annenberg's were close friends of President and Mrs. Reagan and the Reagan's frequently vacationed there. The grounds are stunning and the modern art collection in the house is outstanding. Tickets can be purchased through the Sunnylands web site www.sunnylands.org

The tickets are not easy to get, because they go on sale twice a month, at the beginning and middle of the month, for two week periods, and are often completely sold out very quickly.

That was my experience when I went a few years ago. It was well worth it!:)

When I first joined this forum, I thought it was weird that folks remarked about my avatar being my actual photo, etc. but I think I'm the oddball. Anyway, I'm not sure I could address someone as @purplekow . Unless he were wearing a costume.

With or without the costume you may address me as Sir. Lol

Is the entire thing nude? I didn't realize that.

no, it's not.....I was semi-joking about the name tag "dilemma".......the Saturday dinner is, of course, clothing-required!......the Sunday afternoon pool party, at a private house, is whatever attendees want to wear or not wear......all very friendly, casual, easy-going, tolerant
