Thursday night DavidSF hosts a welcome party at his home. Dinner is Friday night. Pool party with the deviled eggs Saturday during the day. There are informal get togethers at Canyon Club, Karaoke Bars, Strip Clubs and assorted other bacchanalia. It is interesting that it is Easter weekend as I am expecting my penis to rise from the dead.

Sorry, PK, but I must correct this. Dinner is always on Saturday. Pool party (with deviled eggs) is always on Sunday. And Easter Sunday in 2018 is April 1. As to David's event, it was in the afternoon on Thursday this year.

So a booked room for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night is recommended? It sounds like the safest bet.

I wasn't even invited, you guys. I'm just enjoying reading along and fantasizing about staying at a resort in Palm Springs.

LOL @ "interesting that it is Easter weekend as I am expecting my penis to rise from the dead" -- purplekow, that is so hilariously blasphemous!

Well my memory is failing me. Fortunately you are there to pull my balls out of the fire. Last time I barbecue in the nude.

I believe David did announce that he was having a party on Thursday, but I have fucked up the entire schedule so what the hell do I know. As for Easter, that confusion lies directly at the feet of the reservationist at Canyon Club who said it at least 5 times during my call to him and he had the calendar right in front of him, or so he said.

I just looked back on David's post about the get together and he said it would be on Thursday, April 20th, though 4/20 is on a Friday (and a favorite day of mine ). I'm assuming he probably meant 4/19, but I guess we should confirm. It seems that for most a get together on Friday would be better than Thursday, right?

David can confirm, but I'm pretty sure his get together will be on 4/12, not 4/19, since that's the weekend Oliver picked. :)

No one is invited. We all just show up. :) I hope you do too!

And either Canyon Club is confused about more than just Easter, or they need to update their site, because I just checked availability for that weekend, and they're showing a hell of a lot more than three rooms available. But I'd still make your reservation soon if you're planning to stay there. They will fill up, I'm sure, and you can always cancel if you change your mind. They do charge a $15 cancellation fee, but that's a small price to pay for reserving your room early!

This year (2017) David's invite was for Thursday of the week of Oliver's gathering. When I last spoke with him he said, that if he was in Palm Spring the week of the 2018 gathering, that he intended to again have a barbecue and pool party at his and his partner's home.

Each resort offers different things that appeals to different people. Also, I think in certain circumstances escorts may not want to stay at the resort clients stay at. Moreover, in most cases everyone can get together when they want.

Could everyone fit in a single resort? I kinda got the impression that some of these places were pretty small...

Each year the number of participants keeps increasing -- ain't that great! We are now at a point where none of the gay resorts would be large enough to house us all. TruthBTold is absolutely correct about the fact that these resorts are all very different and thus appeal to different guests. For example The Hacienda in Warm Springs and the Canyon Club are totally different. Price can also be a factor the Hacienda in Warm Springs is in the $350 a night range while the Canyon Club is in the $150 dollar range.

I had no idea that Palm Springs was a gay resort town. I just talked to a massage traveler who lives there and he told me a little on what it's like there. I might plan on going sometime next year, but I'm nervous about going. Gay resort is something I've never experienced, but is it dead during the hot summer months?

GOOD GOD YES it is dead in the summer. Recently temperatures in Palm Springs reached 113. About the only things that really enjoy Palm Springs, in the heart of summer, are scorpions and rattlesnakes. I was just there to get together with a local escort and scout out the local gay resorts for my post here and it was 106. Even eating outside in the evening is uncomfortable.

Canyon Club is one of the larger resorts in PS, with 32 rooms. They actually start at just $89 per night. They only have a few of those, so they go quickly. They're nothing fancy, but not bad at all for the price. And one thing I love about Canyon Club, as opposed to some other resorts, is that they don't raise their rates for holiday weekends or special events. We've actually stayed there for Pride, New Year's, etc., and paid just $89 per night. You just have to book way in advance!

When I first went to Palm Springs back in the mid-90's, the town used to practically shut down during the summer. Many of the businesses would close for those months. But that's definitely not the case anymore. I love going to PS during the summer, and while it's certainly less busy, it is definitely not dead.

I beg to differ. I went to Palm Springs three times after the 4th of July and before Labor Day, and it was most definitely not dead. Hot as hell, sure, but not dead.

I went there in September one year and it was pretty hot in the afternoon. However, when you laid around the pool in the morning (naked if you wished) you could stare at the beautiful mountains and eat continental breakfasts. Then as it got somewhat hot you could go up into the mountains and it dropped pretty dramatically in temp. You could then shop and look down upon Palm Springs itself.
