PALM SPRINGS GAY RESORTS

2018

Oliver has decided that the Palm Springs Weekend this year will be held on April 14th and 15th. That weekend will also be the first weekend of the Coachella Festival. Beyonce has already announced that she will be performing after having to cancel last year. Her appearance means that rooms in Palm Springs will be even more difficult to book as time passes.

I highly recommend that if you are even remotely considering attending the Palm Springs Weekend you book a room as soon as possible. If later you decide that you will be unable to attend you can simply cancel your reservation. With this in mind I am providing the following list of gay resorts you might consider booking. I have divided the resorts into three price groups: 1.) Moderate, 2.) Moderately Expensive, and 3.) Expensive. I have recently visited ALL of the facilities listed below. They are all clothing optional, escort friendly and are all listed on tripadvisor. I have included each sites street address, web address and a few personal comments.

Moderate

Canyon Club

www.canyonclubhotel.com

960 N Palm Canyon Drive

Includes a coffee and Danish breakfast

Escape

www.escapepalmsprings.com

641 E. San Lorenzo Dr

Includes a continental breakfast

Triangle Inn Palm Springs

http://www.triangle-inn.com/triangle-inn-palm-springs

555 E San Lorenzo Dr.

Includes a continental breakfast

Moderately Expensive

INNdulge

www.inndulge.com

601 S. Greenfall Rd.

Includes a continental breakfast

Vista Grande Resort

www.vistagranderesort.com

574 Warm Springs Dr.

Includes a continental breakfast

Expensive

Santiago Resort

www.santiagoresort.com

650 E. San Lorenzo Rd.

Includes a continental breakfast and a box lunch

The Hacienda Warm Springs

www.thehacienda.com

586 S Warm Springs Dr.

Includes elaborate continental breakfast and a great number of choices for a cold lunch

As I stated in the introductory paragraph I have visited ALL of these facilities and ALL of them are acceptable. Some offer more amenities and are more elaborately landscaped than others but they come at a price.

Latbear4blk last year a number of attendees stayed at the Canyon Club and greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of sitting around the pool shooting the shit with other forum participants. If I were staying at a Palm Springs gay resort, for our event, my personal choice might be INNdulge. I just returned, two day ago, from Palm Springs where I stayed at The Hacienda Warm Springs. The place is drop dead gorgeous and I greatly enjoyed my stay, however, it is very pricey.

Canyon Club is certain nothing fancy, but for me this is not a fancy weekend, so I will be booking a room there and an extra room for the late comer who can't find a room but really wants to attend. There will be at least one of those.

Sitting out by the pool into the early morning hours and observing the movement of people to various and sundry locations for private rendez-vous, semi private rendez-vous and public rendez-vous, was fun. Even more fun was having at least one of each of those.

Inn-Dulge is certainly a nicer location and I suppose the other locales will have representatives there, but I expect Robster and Wayne will be leading the traditional disrobing at Canyon Club to the delight of most.

I'm booked at INNdulge and looking forward to the event as well.

Note - the Casa Ocotillo, www.casaocotillo.com - This property is now a private home and is no longer being operated as an accommodation.

Otherwise, the list above is a great help in finding accommodations. Also, for those of you who may be flying in, PSP airport may be expensive, you may want to consider ONT, SNA, LAX as alternative gateways. Depending on your day/time of your arrival driving from SNA or LAX may be challenging.

I did find a connecting flight from PHX to PSP that was reasonable and flying into PHX is relatively affordable.

I agree totally with jrhoutex regarding Los Angeles area airports. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is on the west side of the city, in fact, it abuts the Pacific Ocean. If after arriving at LAX you rent a car and depart the airport after 2:30 p.m., for the drive east to Palm Springs, you will have to cross the entire city and traffic will be an absolute total "fucking bitch". You will also face heavy traffic if you arrive at John Wayne Airport (SNA) at the same time, however it won't be nearly as bad as LAX. Ontario Airport (ONT) is about an hour west of Palm Springs and is not a bad choice. You will be driving east while most traffic will be moving west. Palm Springs Airport (PSP) is, of course, the best choice although fares there can be quite high, however, if you keep checking sites like "kayak" you might get a good fare.

I have booked at The Hacienda. I tend to stay there for the reasons mentioned above and also because the PS Weekend lands near or on a special occasion so I tend to splurge. Everything is tremendously discreet which everyone may or may not like. Of course, you can always go visit people at other clubs for real, real fun. During the day you can walk downtown if you wish but a very nice continental breakfast is included, as is a great cold lunch. Moreover, 5 or 6 of the 10/11 rooms have kitchens if you want to whip up your own meals. The other nice thing is that 5 rooms have their own pool/jacuzzi and the other 5 have their own pool. Everything is really comfortable, particularly for a lazy ass as myself.

INNdulge says "not available" for those dates. Maybe they just don't like that I've entered "1 room, 1 adult." (they already know I'm a single loser! lol)

Do you think the Coachella crowd will stay at clothing-optional gay resorts, though? I don't think this group would have to worry about those places being booked... but I don't know anything about it. I could be wrong.

Apparently, INNdulge has a minimum 4 night stay for that weekend. When you put dates around that weekend with a 4 night stay, they have rooms available. When you put dates around that weekend for a 3 night or 2 night stay, they don't have rooms but suggest calling the resort.

I just got the same message. However, I modified the dates to cover Wednesday - Wednesday and got options.

I'm booked Wednesday to Wednesday as well this was part of my original plan anyway.

I know some gay couples who've been to Coachella so it's possible that the gay resorts might pick up some of that clientele. Also, the hotel business tends to follow the lead of their competitors. If the majority are requiring longer stays with four night minimums, then it's more profitable to join the competition and increase revenue.

I am not sure of the acts that will be playing at the festival but I would go if I could get tickets. I am sure there will be a gay-optioned couple who will want to see Beyonce if she is going to be there and they could get tickets.

PALM SPRINGS GAY RESORTS

2018

Rob

Just to keep you up to date. Just booked two rooms poolside at Canyon Club. The reservationist indicated that there was only a choice of three rooms. I am not sure if he meant on that level or in the hotel in general. In either case, 7 months out and the rooms at this site are leaving quickly. IF you are considering staying at the Canyon Club, the unofficial home of this Palm Springs weekend, I would put a refundable deposit down. Also, ask for the fourth night free option since they were a bit reluctant to give it to me until I mentioned that I had stayed there before and that friends told me about this option. See you in April.

I just booked four nights 4/12-16 at Canyon. The man I spoke with said I'd have to ask for free fourth night at check-in because it's Easter weekend and they don't typically offer specials on holidays. He said they had only three rooms left. I'm excited to be there, but I'm hoping for s little clarification re: forum related events. Is the main pool party with the deviled eggs Sunday? Thanks.

Thursday night DavidSF hosts a welcome party at his home. Dinner is (Friday) Saturday night. Pool party with the deviled eggs (Saturday) Sunday during the day. There are informal get togethers at Canyon Club, Karaoke Bars, Strip Clubs and assorted other bacchanalia. It is interesting that it is Easter weekend (It is not Easter. I was misinformed. I think Jesus was having a problem with delayed coming)as I am expecting my penis to rise from the dead.

Raynaud What in the world brought you to Casablanca.

Rick My Health. I came for the waters.

Raynaud The waters? The waters, but Casablanca is in the desert.

Rick I was misinformed.
