My pup is 16 years old (advanced for a big dog) and it's begun to catch up.

 

I have had dogs in my adult life the past 43 years with only a 3 month break between them. They are truly our besties.

My condolences too. I'm just about to hit two years with my Riley, and can't imagine life without her. We met a woman with an older rescue greyhound just a few days ago in the park, and she talked about her previous dogs, and thinking about not getting another because of the feelings when her other dogs passed. I couldn't help but quote Doctor Who: "Some things are worth getting your heart broken for".

Awww, I am sorry to hear that. My little friend Willy, the best cat ever, passed away four years ago and I still think of him. Hang in there.
