OK, what is it with providers who go through with setting up a meeting, then go radio silent when you ask them their address? I mean, are we supposed to guess where these guys are?

This has happened to me a few times. Guys, it's annoying.

When are you asking for their address? Normally I don't get their exact address until the day of the session when I'm getting ready to head over. When I'm simply inquiring and/or setting up the session I ask what area do you live in. I would never expect to get their exact address at that point.

Depending on how early you're asking for their address prior to the meet, they are withholding it to protect themselves from you showing up early because they ultimately don't know if you might show up early for nefarious reasons or not. And also if they are a provider that hosts in a hotel it's possible they literally don't even have an address to give you if they haven't booked it yet.

I hire a couple providers who mainly escort, both guys in their mid 20s who live at home with family and they go book a cheap motel to host clients. They don't give me the address till about 2ish hours before the meeting time, and they don't give me the room number till i get there and park.

Similarly, with providers i know who travel a lot. If i book with them before they actually get to my town, they simply don't even have an address to give me yet till they actually check in and get settled.

I’ve only had that happen once.

I was in Barcelona and I’d made the arrangements on the phone (in Spanish). When I confirmed our date a couple of hours ahead, I’d been told ‘Call me before you leave for my address’. He was a guy who’d worked recently for BelAmi, so I figured he was worth the extra effort.
I phoned again 45 minutes ahead of our meeting-time. I was then told the approximate outlying area.
I pointed out that it was raining but I was in the city centre, would take a taxi and needed an address.
The response was ‘Come to the junction of two streets and call. When you’re outside the right building, call again’

I wanted a date indoors, not to explore a less-fashionable district in the rain of an evening.
He was surprised that I said No.

Clients do this too. I was hired by a client for an out call. He gave me an address but told me to text him when I was outside in the street standing beside a letter box or something (I can’t recall exactly what it was). I arrived at his designated spot, looked in the direction of the house number he’d told me and texted him. He then texted back to tell me to knock at a different number house a few doors down.  Obviously he’d given me the wrong address originally so that he could check me out by ensuring I’d turn up and then watching me to ensure he was happy with what I looked like (to be fair I just had short shorts and a vest top on lol). Once he’d satisfied himself I was legitimate he gave me his correct address. I guess had he not liked the look of me he’d have gone silent and I’d never have known his real address.

This was a day-of set up, so it was an hour or so before we were supposed to meet.

I always found this very odd- whether or not I can see a guy is completely contingent on his incall location, and it’s literally the first thing I ask. I totally understand not giving an exact address in advance, but I at least need a ballpark idea so I don’t waste his time.

I'm in NYC, so when I'm initially asking I will inquire what neighborhood they're in. That gives me a ballpark of how long the a trip I'm looking at. Similarly since we do a lot of hosting, I will tell the provider our neighborhood. 

From the provider side, I suspect two things are happening. 1) Providers who host at their home are assuming a degree of risk by giving out their addresses so they're waiting until the appointment feels real and that can vary. 2) Some providers host in spaces other than their homes. They may be waiting to confirm which space is available. 

I do think providing the address at least an hour or two in advance is necessary. But look at what @Jamie21 wrote: Clients contribute to escorts reticence and vice versa.

I really don’t understand withholding the address of a large hotel or apartment complex and only providing the room or apartment number at the time.

And particularly in larger metropolitan areas, I want to know the rough approximate location early so I can plan my route and driving time.

Withholding the exact address until a little before the meeting time makes sense though.

That's odd then. I think they just ghosted. The provider may just be the type to have forgotten about the appointment or maybe they're the type to drop one appointment if a higher paying conflicting appointment comes their way. Have run into a couple of those before, more prevalent among the younger "just chasing the biggest buck possible by any means necessary" guys.

In my experience, traveling providers generally have no problem giving you the exact hotel address, minus the room number, in advance. Local providers will usually give you the address when you confirm the appointment on the day of the meeting.

I’ve only had one instance where a provider didn’t give me an address that morning, even though we were meeting in the middle of the afternoon. I reminded him after confirming that I still didn’t have his address, but I never got a response. Then, about 30 minutes before the agreed time, he texted me, “Are you on your way?” My response was simply, “I don’t care to play treasure hunt games.”

Interestingly, his account was gone a few weeks later, so I guess I dodged a bullet.

This is my protocol in NYC as well.  Once I have confirmed the escort can host (I don't host), the neighborhood is sufficient until the day of the session.  On a few occasions, I've been given an address but no apartment number until I show up outside.  Two or three times, I've been given an intersection, where the escort has met me and walked me to his place nearby.  I got the sense that this was a final screening procedure, so that they hadn't revealed themselves to the NYPD or to some nefarious actors, and so they could check me out before going forward with the session.  Of course, I can do the same thing and walk away if the escort doesn't look like who I thought I was hiring without the discomfort of doing it at his front door.

I saw one provider who deliver gave me the address next door to his. As instructed, I texted him from the complex gate, looking through to the beautifully kept Spanish revival atrium with flowers, trees and a fountain, keeping an eye out for him through a couple visible access points. Then he  appeared behind me from the street about 90sec later, and led me to his building's entrance, and up to his place. He was a pleasure to walk behind, so I didn't mind, and he more than lived up to my expectations.
