HeyMan999 Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Why do so many guys who claim to be negative and on prep look like they are losing a ton of weight in the face and body? Is that a common side effect? Or do most lie online? I know of a few people who lie but everyone who claims to be on prep has a certain look if you know what I mean…….what is going on? Maybe try a condom.
+ FrankR Posted August 15 Posted August 15 (edited) Why do you care what we have to say?? After all, you think we are idiots. ⬇️ On 1/30/2026 at 2:15 PM, HeyMan999 said: There’s a lot of idiots on this site…. Edited August 15 by FrankR + JamesB, + Vegas_Millennial, josh282282 and 1 other 3 1

What you may be observing is guys who also correlate with meth use or a number of other things Are you simply looking for a profile that is a little plump and therefore your observation is biased? mtaabq Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Dude, I’ve been on Prep for I can’t remember how long (5+ years) and I wish weight loss was a side effect. If my face has thinned out I don’t see it and no one has commented that I look like I have lost weight. I think @PhileasFogg may be correct when he likens the weight loss you’re observing to use of other drugs or other factors at play that may be causing weight loss. + Pensant, MikeBiDude, marylander1940 and 1 other 1 2 1

Maybe try a condom. I don't think that's a common or even possible reaction. I just googled and 45% of gay men take PrEP, I guess you can find a lot of similarities in their looks. Are you here to "slutshame"/"PrEPsham? MassageCommunityMember 1

Boaxxx Posted August 17 Posted August 17 If weight loss is a side affect then I must be getting the generic version. 🤷 MassageCommunityMember, + Pensant, + Gar1eth and 5 others 8
+ Jamie21 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I’ve been on Prep for years (>8) and haven’t noticed this. It’s not listed as a side effect. marylander1940 1

Certainly cheaper then ozempic. MassageCommunityMember and Whippoorwill 2
Thomas_Belgium Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Maybe some guys take PrEP, party a lot & that's why they could look horrible.

HeyMan999 Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 It seems like the door already hit you buddy. Enjoy your day bud!!! Feel better!!!
+ Jamie21 Posted August 18 Posted August 18 I use prep. I used to look fabulous and my life was awesome, but since I stopped using condoms I’ve noticed things change. Losing weight in the face, feeling tired, losing that sparkle. I keep losing my car keys, the elastic in my favourite underwear has gone, my pot plants are dying and last Thursday I broke a finger nail 😕……. But my sex life is fantastic, I never need to fumble around for a condom, or try to open it with oily hands. I can feel it in my hole when guys cum in me and it’s great to have the load dribble out afterwards. Also when I fuck I can feel so much more and guys always appreciate getting bred, especially clients or if I’m filming porn. I guess I’m happy with the trade offs, I can eat more, buy new pants…and plants and get my nails done… and keep having raw sex. My decision. HeyMan999 Posted August 19 Author Posted August 19 I get it. Some of you confuse prep with other things. You know who you are and I know you are reading this and are mad. If you are mad about health then you are the problem. MikeBiDude, + FrankR, + Vegas_Millennial and 1 other 4

+ sniper Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Odds are some guys who are positive and undetectable are saying they're on Prep. Or maybe they're doing Ozempic and that's causing the facial issues. MassageCommunityMember 1
HeyMan999 Posted Sunday at 04:07 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:07 PM (edited) Yes there are guys who are positive but say they are on prep. I know a few and im sure there are others. How am I a troll though? I think you are a troll if you lie to guys about your health. So many angry people on here and it’s very odd. You have your reasons though for being angry. Why? Im genuinely curious. Edited Sunday at 04:57 PM by HeyMan999 marylander1940 and MikeBiDude 1 1
+ SirBillybob Posted Tuesday at 08:41 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:41 PM (edited) Based on research demographic stats as proxy for the total, almost 100% of cisgender male users of HIV PrEP have body weight and associated BMI consistent with the combined classifications of normal / overweight / obese … as would be expected that feature. But I think the question being posed is: What observable physical signs, specifically attributable to HIV infection, would allow us to distinguish someone HIV seronegative and taking PrEP from someone living with HIV? I can’t think of any that could reasonably or reliably do so. The prospects of robust health are similar. More importantly, the stereotype can also backfire in reverse. Once looking “unwell” becomes a proxy for risk, appearing healthy becomes false reassurance. Neither is much of a basis for assessing serostatus, PrEP uptake adherence, or TasP (viral suppression).
