I know that attraction is probably much more complex than this for most people, and that a lot of people are attracted to more than one type.  But amongst forum members, do you find yourself attracted to those who are similar to you physically - for instance, dad bod, skinny, hairy, or muscular?  Or do you find yourself attracted to people with those physical traits you wished you had for yourself?

When I was young, I'd say my "type" was more similar to me: preferably blond, young men with lean bodies, though I always preferred men more muscular than myself (though not into the body builder category).  Now I'd say that I am far more attracted to men with dark hair and skin darker than mine, and as I've gotten older my preference for men has skewed younger than me.  Not that I never find men in their sixties attractive, but I'd be lying if I said that my physical "type" wasn't more 20s/30s men.

I came out when I was a fairly skinny and non-athletic teenager, so I tended to be attracted to bigger and more muscular older guys--preferably with dark body hair--for hot sex. The same type who turned me on at 15 still turned me on sexually at 60. However, for more romantic relationships, personalities were a more important factor in my attraction to another man, and my partner for 56 years was older but actually smaller than I was..

Attraction is kinda mysterious. There can be elements of it that change as we grow older, a few that situationally deepen and intensify, others that switch off after becoming associated with a terrible experience, and some aspects of attractiveness that last a lifetime.

I have experienced all of these. The two most attractive aspects that have remained and/or grown, are body hair and sense of humor.

Interesting question....I tend to be attracted to guys with traits like me with a slight twist if you willl

I am hairy and hung....while I like guys to be hairy...and hung....if they're at least hairy...I am happier.  I also don't like guys that are "too hairy" (define that...yeah, I know...I'm particular) and I am obsessed with blondes and gingers that are hairy.  Being dark complexion and hair, I love the guys that are much fairer in appearnce.  I also think uncut guys are 🥵🥵

I am also attracted to small things...like good teeth and a great smile...beards, and normal or dad bods.  Again...similar to me

When I was younger I definitely considered myself more bi and as I have gotten older I think I lean more gay.

With women, my attraction is(was) all over the place.

In men, I tend to go for more fit and muscled guys. However, I do find other builds and types attractive also. Although I don't think age (as long as they at the age of consent) is much a factor if I find someone attractive. I do notice, maybe oddly, that most of the men I've had fun with, ranged within 10 years (younger/older) of my own age.

My initial interest in muscle can easily be overshadowed by personality and they way they talk to me/treat me. Someone being hairy or tatted up or their ethnicity or being tall or short doesn't factor much into the attraction. I do like olive skin, but its not a major factor.

I'm rather a big guy. I have played with people with similar builds (height/weight). I don't generally seek out guys built like me but I have found people with similar builds attractive.

I find both beauty and ugliness in all shapes, types, ages and races. So the answer is no.
