Thoughts about attraction...

I know that attraction is probably much more complex than this for most people, and that a lot of people are attracted to more than one type.  But amongst forum members, do you find yourself attracted to those who are similar to you physically - for instance, dad bod, skinny, hairy, or muscular?  Or do you find yourself attracted to people with those physical traits you wished you had for yourself?

When I was young, I'd say my "type" was more similar to me: preferably blond, young men with lean bodies, though I always preferred men more muscular than myself (though not into the body builder category).  Now I'd say that I am far more attracted to men with dark hair and skin darker than mine, and as I've gotten older my preference for men has skewed younger than me.  Not that I never find men in their sixties attractive, but I'd be lying if I said that my physical "type" wasn't more 20s/30s men.

I don’t generally have a specific type. I’m more of a know it when I see it guy. In terms of assets, I like a big smooth round bubble butt,  big dick, muscular or athletic build. But in terms of features like hair, skin, and face, I know it when I see it. No set guidelines.

There’s an aesthetic - not mine - that I’m physically attracted to, but it has to tie in to a sense of humor and intellect that syncs well with mine

The range of men, women, and non-binary people that I find attractive is a pretty wide spectrum.  

And, I hold the (tested) opinion that you can have fantastic sex with people who you don’t really find attractive initially.

I suspect that a lot of escorts have similar feelings about how necessary attraction is to mine.

I came out when I was a fairly skinny and non-athletic teenager, so I tended to be attracted to bigger and more muscular older guys--preferably with dark body hair--for hot sex. The same type who turned me on at 15 still turned me on sexually at 60. However, for more romantic relationships, personalities were a more important factor in my attraction to another man, and my partner for 56 years was older but actually smaller than I was..

I’m reciprocally attracted to people who are clearly turned on by me. Physical appearance is initially important but I’m more likely to go back if they have this quality.
