Double Standards

Interestingly, there is a rumor that the wife in the couple next door was caught by her husband in bed with a female friend. Everyone seems ok with that.

If the husband had been found in bed with another man, I believe there would be a high probability of “judgement” and possibly a divorce.

This is Mississippi.   Where are you and eould there be a double standard?

Men are turned on by woman-on-woman action but women of the wife variety are not turned on by man-on-man action.  Definitely a double standard.

I think straight men are more scared / censorious of same sex activity than straight women are. Women seem much more open minded to same sex activity whether that’s guy on guy or girl on girl. I’ve done live sex shows (me and another guy fucking) and most of the audience was women, of all sexualities. They loved watching two guys go at it. The ‘straight’ men in the audience were more anxious about it (probably because they were turned on but didn’t want to acknowledge that because that might make them gay 😂). The women just enjoyed it.

I think it has to do with women are more likely to “identify” as bisexual or pansexual, whether they truly are or not. So many young female pop stars and celebrities call themselves bisexual or pansexual then end up marrying men. Nikki Minaj recently admitted to lying about being bi early in her career. Almost like it was a trend to be bi. With men I think there is less of a spectrum of sexuality. Though bisexuality does exist with men, it seems most men either identify as gay or straight. And straight men are more likely to be homophobic.

"In bed with.." and  "Having sex with..." are not necessarily the same thing. In most societies it is considered normal for women to openly show affection for one another, by things like kissing, while that is considered much more questionable between two men.

Without a doubt!

Is only up to her husband to judge was his wife was doing with another woman in bed. He might even join.

Bisexuality (real not being gay and in denial) is judged differently for men, most women might find it disgusting, but straight men might find interesting having a bisexual wife as long as they're allowed to join.

Relatedly, I knew a guy in high school who proudly declared support for gay men because it improved his chances of scoring with girls... as it reduced the number of guys on the field, sort to speak. 

It didn't make sense of course, but he was hardly the type to pour over Kinsey studies to check his theories.

In college, I was a straight man living with a gay best friend (yes…two bedrooms and no funny business). And of course, good looking women sought good looking gay men - in the 80’s - thinking they could score or change them.  Well, when frustrated, my bedroom was right next door and no women left unhappy.

And FTR, 20yrs ago, I passed Kinsey’s house on the way to/from work in Bloomington.  Ohhhhh, the stories those walls could tell…

I, too, had a friend in high school who said the same thing. 

Interestingly, the chance of being born gay increases with each successive male offspring from the mother.  It may be partly Nature's way of removing the competition for women in tribes with lots of males.
