Forgive my ignorance, but I booked an erotic massage (truly an escort session with massage) with a masseur but his profile doesn't show nudes. I asked if I could see some because we talked about adding extra elements to the erotic massage but he said that he doesn't send those. I purely want to see what he is working with especially because of the nature of our conversation - is this unreasonable? Open to being educated.

I just figured that because talked about his piece I would get to see it before the appointment to decide if it is what I'm looking for - this is the first time I have encountered this issue. Now I am not sure if I am being swindled, especially when he's charging $400.

If he’s only advertising as a masseur, even though conversation could suggest that he’s open to other action, he might simply be avoiding potential legal action from local authorities.   Full frontal photos aren’t necessarily illegal, but can suggest paid sexual services, and those most certainly can be.   A phone call asking for details of “dimensions” might be the solution.

You're not being unreasonable Smyth your request,  but if that's something he's refusing or is uncomfortable with, just let him know it's a deal breaker and move on.

He certainly shouldn't be offended by the question, and you certainly shouldn't feel bad for asking or refusing to hire him as a result.

Plenty of fish in the sea. Someone who's willing to meet your criteria is just a few clicks away.

At that price point and given your prior conversation, I wouldn't think sending a pic is a crazy request.  I see this as a red flag and you may not get what you are looking for.  $400 is on the very high side for massage even  if you've negotiated escort type services.   If it were me, I would move on.....

400 is way too much for sensual massage that has no guarantees of erotic content.  Especially without nudes.

But he already said in the original post they’ve negotiated an escort level of services for the appointment

Yes.

Your session will last for an hour, maybe two.

His nude photographs will last for eternity.

I don't blame anyone nowadays for not sharing or posting nude pictures.

Maybe but it’s the business he’s in. Of course the OP has the right to decline and the “masseur” has the right to not send photos (especially with the amount of time wasters he has to deal with), but it is interesting that he won’t send that stuff after having explicit conversations with the OP about services.

I’ve not encountered this situation before personally. I may just cut my losses and move on to a different provider.

I send nude pics if a client asks. There’s lots of nudes on my website too. But I don’t include my face.

If this guy is selling a sexual service (which a sensual massage is because often the masseur is naked and will allow touch) then I think he ought to provide pictures of himself naked. They don’t need to show him hard or include his face, just a nice naked picture because effectively his body is part of the service with a sensual massage.

His reticence may be due to him being new, or perhaps because he’s aware there’s a lot of ‘picture collectors’ who have no intention of booking. They waste your time by asking for ever more explicit pictures.

Depends on the nature of the service. Therapeutic only masseurs get annoyed at nude pic requests because what they look like naked isn’t particularly relevant for the service they are advertising.

But…I know there’s a lot of gray area in who offers what to whom and when and for how much.

My view is if any escort style services are explicitly on offer or even implied as on offer, a masseur / SW should not be surprised or offended by the request, and should be willing to share freely.

You want to sell your ass? Show your ass.

You want to sell your massage skills without any sexual things or nudity? Market your skills. Your looks are only a bonus for those that like your look.

Being naked, offering mutual touch, happy endings or more, all depend on the individual masseur. Some offer extras, some don’t. I think it’s ok to ask for nudes from masseurs that advertise in a way that suggests they offer more than therapeutic massage. That doesn’t mean they are obligated to share nudes, but that’s their decision to lean into what they are selling by offering a preview or not. Whether they share pics or not, some clients will bite, some won’t.

If needing to see nudes is a must for the session to be a go then just let him know. If he won't send a pic simply state that to him you respect his desire to not send a nude pic but unfortunately then it's not going to work out. I'm sure he might be upset but it's best to be cordial and not hold a time slot and move on.

If you have his confirmation that what you're hiring is an escort service with massage, 400 is within range. Remember that 'erotic massage' has many interpretations.

If a handsome face is essential for you, pass.
