Jeez! I've been reaching out to everyone who lists travel to the area, and some who don't but are nearby for 2 weeks, and the results have been dismal. Nope, certainly can't blame him, but i would also suggest another source of income too. Can't make your money selling your dick, but be too shy to show it to potential clients. That's for sure a pass from me.

You're not being unreasonable Smyth your request, but if that's something he's refusing or is uncomfortable with, just let him know it's a deal breaker and move on. He certainly shouldn't be offended by the question, and you certainly shouldn't feel bad for asking or refusing to hire him as a result. Plenty of fish in the sea. Someone who's willing to meet your criteria is just a few clicks away.

Personally, I don't try to haggle. If I ask for a rate, and it's more than I'm willing to pay, I just say so and move on. I very rarely reconsider when the rate lowers as a counter offer and for the most part have regretted it when I do. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Well that's a lovely anecdote. Do always live the renew your faith in humanity type of stories. Personally I would not pay for an Uber or cab. Leaves a paper trail, and sets a bad president for the next guy they wanna try it on. I have however picked up and dropped off providers on multiple occasions.
