Lauderdale Club Visit (Johnsons, LeBoy, Boardwalk)

Hi all,

I was in Lauderdale for Memorial Day Weekend and made several trips to each club.

Johnsons - $10 cover.  $15 private show wristband.  Guys were $20-$30 per song for lap dances.  Went on Friday and it was surprisingly dead even though Hunters, No Manors and Allabi were slammed.  Guys were ok but nothing that really pulled me.  Saturday was a little more lively but again the mix of guys was just not my thing.  I tried to talk to two different ones with tips but they were not interested in talking.  Drinks were reasonable but the vibe and quality of guys for me just didn't work.  Side note - why is the front door cashier guys that they hire always a jerk?   Every time it's just a nasty unfriendly person at the register.  They had a sign that said $10 cover men and $20 women - I joked while I was waiting to pay telling the cashier thank you for doing that since last visit there was too many women.  Immediately he responded with - keep reading.  I said yea I did and he yelled at me cash only - your holding a card.  Read the sign and tapped it annoyed.  --- I wasn't even up to pay yet with two people in front of me. Not the great welcoming experience. It seems every trip there's a new door guy that has to be just unfriendly.....

LeBoy - You can no longer park at the warehouse next door.  You now have to park down 13th and walk over the railroad tracks.  No big problems with that - just an FYI.  Otherwise she bartenders that have been there for years. Still free to get in.  Food vendor out front now.  Good mix of guys each night and very busy.  Outdoors has been repainted and got a new slate shower for shows.  Good mix of twinks and HS/College jocks. Privates was $10 entry per show.  $20 per song to the dancer closed curtain.  Still a lot of good fun for the value 😉

Boardwalk - not sure how it is early, but would go for after-hours each night which gets slammed between 2am-4am or 5am.  It seems some dancers come in just to work after hours as several arrive around 2am.  Good mix of about 9 dancers that walk around on top of the bar and kneel to tip them.  Also they rotate between the MainStage pole.  $10 club entry cover charge, $30 private room charge for the small room (there is a larger one that's $40 or $50) and whatever you negotiate with the dancer.   Had one private that was awesome.  Top of the line service for 15 min for a Benjamin.   Was there every night because of how fun the energy is with this club since younger and older bar goers mix very well here and the dancers are fun.

Curious what time you went to Johnsons as it has always been packed after 10 pm or so when I went.  Also, curious if the qualities of dancers made a difference in your comments.  Johnsons has mostly Latinos straight guys, many bodybuilder types, and I don't know about Boardwalk or Leboy, but Leboy seems to have younger athletic types.  It seems that you are a late night person as Boardwalk is a very late bar.  We went there between 11 pm and 12 am a few years ago, and there was hardly anyone in the bar.  I rarely stay out later than 12 am these days.  I also recall that Boardwalk charged for private room entry EVERY time, whereas Johnsons only charges once and gives you a wristband.

I prefer to arrive at Johnsons before 8pm for happy hour prices on cover charge and drinks.  I will leave around 9pm for a late dinner and then come back afterwards to enjoy the dancers (I get my hand stamped when leaving, so I don't have to pay the cover charge when returning).

LeBoy does have younger dancers, but I wouldn't consider them "athletic" unless the sport is junior college swimming, soccer,  baseball, or gymnastics.  Very few of those boys fit the physical profile of a football or rugby player, wrestler, or water polo player.  And, since the age skews very young, there isn't much muscle tone like one would expect of an older college athlete.

Yes, and LeBoy now follows Boardwalk's practice of charging for a private room every time.  This is yet another reason why I spend most of my time and money at Johnsons when I'm in Ft Lauderdale.

For Johnsons, it's good to know that you can get your hand stamped as I did not know.  I have dinner around 6 pm with a friend in time to arrive at Johnsons before the 8 pm cover, and sometimes we are rushing to avoid the cover charge (like if we have leftovers and want to bring them home or put them in the car).

Concerning dancers at Johnsons, you have very slim pickings if you are avoiding the Latin guys as it seems to be at least 3 out of 4 guys.  And even many of the non-Latin guys are heterosexual.  It's telling that some of those dancers are NOT even overly aggressive in getting privates; it could be a personality issue (they are bit shy) but I wonder if it is also because they are less comfortable because they are hetero.  There is a very hunky non-Latin dancer that goes to the corner after each stage dance, and I don't think he has ever taken any back for a private (and he appears to be such a nice guy).  But I do prefer the less aggressive types....

For LeBoy, I meant athletic as you mentioned - swimmers/gymnastic build.   I think that is the common thought or perception, as opposed to the muscular or bodybuilding types that are mostly at Johnsons.

I guess one possible advantage for you if LeBoy/Boardwalk charges for the private room every time would be to choose your favorite dance for multiple dances that could hopefully get intense, rather than having many dancers, some of which may be disappointing, and perhaps spending more money and being less satisfied with the one private room cover charge.  My friend who does a lot of privates at Johnsons usually takes 3 or 4 dancers and is frequently disappointed.  He really has one favorite BB dancer, Tony, who comes in around 10:30, and we leave after he does his 2-3 dances with Tony.

I was in Ft. Lauderdale for the entire weekend and went to Johnson’s Fri/Sat/Sun nights. I stayed multiple hours all three nights. I felt the line-up was pretty weak overall. No true body builders. A few muscled guys but no one seriously big. 2-3 guys had very handsome faces but most of the rest were average looks-wise IMHO.   As mentioned above by others, the overwhelming majority of guys are Latino. I’m fine with that as I speak Spanish.   I did not see any of the Montreal dancers there all weekend. I guess they are all back dancing at Campus in Montreal for the summer. 
 

There were female and trans patrons all three nights. Thankfully they were not obnoxious and didn’t do a lot of screaming and shouting. 
 

I still had fun. However, I saw nothing there that would cause me to rush back anytime soon.   I’m aware that the Florida clubs are now in the slow summer season. Some of the hottest dancers only dance during high season from Jan-Apr.  I think I’ll wait till Nov/Dec before I go back.   Time to look at getting back to Montreal!!

I’m not surprised the Montreal dancers are back home. This last weekend was Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, the largest sporting event in Montreal revenue wise. 
The fans are high rollers and I imagine some are gay and show up at the stripper bars. There are other types of fans too so the straight guys probably are in high demand as well.

Down for the week and on first night was pleasantly surprised at the better quality Johnsons has gotten back to. Less than half Latino although a short muscle young Columbian named Gio is a superstar as is a short muscle American from Denver named Jackson who has traveled the world but now lives in Miami..Two tall semi muscle country types also appealing. Bel Ami friend with me and friends here but making contacts .

9:45  Thursday....Johnsons....MALIK DELGATY JUST WALKED BY ME..... Matt gone and Johnsons looking up.

EDIT: he came and sat next to me on stools for a half hour but even though with client he stayed on his phone texting the whole time....very very quiet guy.

Also the Lapldance area stays full but curtains still stay open....now everyone gets on the floor for privacy....that's uncomfortable !

summary of my week of Johnson's visits ending 10/26: 

No sign of Matt who has sold the bar nor do I know if i saw the new owner. Most nights about a dozen dancers but Friday and Saturday twice that....At last a 10-20% contingent of sub-25 white American twunks has returned together with an upgraded fitness model type bodybuilder 10-20% and a few young latins who blend those 2 groups. The rest are the 35-ish latino "filling-out" types and the 25-35 yr old heavy hard muscle guys covered from ear lobe to ankle with tattoos perhaps from state prison. Those last two groups had taken over Johnsons for a while and had run Boardwalk for years.

The winning tactic is to immediately get a $10 private room wristband as when the dancers see that on your wrist they act madly in love with you. Dances have gone up from $20 a song to $25. Agree on a timer on one's phone to count time. !! There's an armchair for the client to sit in and the dancer is over you in front.

Starting with the 10's:

Perfect 10_--There's an Italian guy from Sicily about 25ish with the most perfect model's face on a bodybuilder ever. World's most perfect white skin, black hair, white teeth, deep blue eyes, and smile. He was only there saturday night and i forgot his name. He's aggressive if you have a wrist band on in a nice way. Legs like tree trunks. His back has a complete tatoo but only a couple small ones on his gigantic arms. Obviously a popuar guy with lines to tip him. Could be Malik's better-looking bodybuilder brother. Perfect English . A sure get.

9.5--- A blond 23 yr old Argentine whose name i never understood but think it starts with a C. Absolutely Zero English but uses Google translate. Great 6-pack and physically friendly. I did 5 songs with him and very arousing. The amazing thng is he looks and acts 100% like the screentest of Marlon Brando at 22 I've seen.. Doesn't get much better. 

9.0--- Jackson, a 22 year old blue-eyed twunk from Denver who has traveled all over the world. About 5'8" and amazing face and blue eyes with a soccer player's body. He's there every night even though he also lives in Miami. Hangs around outside or talking to friends a lot and doesn't hustle dances unless you ask him . 

9.0-----6 Ft. Georgio from Argentina. I had assumed this was a Florida country guy with amazing natural body as country guys often have but he's Argentine although he speaks perfect English. Only one that wears only a g-string every night and eager to share his body with a hello (but of course wants a dance set later if possible ). Sweetest , friendliest and sexiest guy there. 

9.0-----5ft 7 Gio from Venezuela. Dark hairless big biceps muscle bod and black eyes. Extremely nice guy.

Those are the best and except for the Italian are there every night.
