To be clear Wilton Manors itself  is a small walkable place. In fact Johnson's is next to a gay area that is a former shopping center and there are gay places all across the street. Boardwalk and leBoy are at the edge of $5 Ubers. What it lacks is large chain hotels, although a Courtyard is close. But there are plenty in a $5-$10 Uber area. The beach at Sunrise, the Galleria and the small gay hotels there on the north end of Central Beach are $10 Ubers. I prefer the Las Olas area downtown with it's numerous restaurants and it's $10 Uber to Wilton Manors or the beach. 

The reason so many strip clubs moved to the Wilton area is that it's a mecca for retired older gay men. "Young" = below 65. The "cool" gay younger types center around Miami with it's huge mixed techno clubs. But at present it doesn't have any bars that are solely strip clubs and have lapdances.

my last trip was weird to JOHNSONS....A few of the guys were wearing dildos in their speedos ...took one to a private and I could feel it was a dildo and tada it was. felt super queer baiting to me

Never had that experience at Johnsons.  Most of the guys are social while off the stage and more than a few really enjoy doing the stage show part.

Very few where "speedos".  Most are in their tight briefs by the third song.  And I've never met one that wasn't willing to let you see or touch him while giving him a tip.

There is this one really good looking guy that's been there for years that I believe had a massive silicone implantation into his dick. I assumed it was a dildo too, until he showed me. It was really gross. I wish it was a dildo

Johnson's Tampa posted on Facebook that they would be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday...and that they would provide further information after the hurricane.  I have seen no reports from The FTL location.  It should be less affected by Milton than the Tampa location.

Some friends of mine in Wilton Manors (Ft Lauderdale) posted this today: 

"It's a very blustery, Winnie The Pooh kind of day. The bars are packed, everyone is a little giddy, half the town is off work. We're out of harms way down here, lots of folks in town from the west coast (of Florida) who evacuated to our fair shores. Plus, Floridians have been through this. A lot. It takes a bit to really shake them."

Sounds like Wilton Manors is doing fine.

Based on years of observation, most residents of South Florida can deal with a Stage 5 hurricane.... but when the weather drops below 50 degrees, they freak out and panic.

Was at Johnsons Ft. Lauderdale last night & a dancer said he heard they’d soon be raising their lap dances prices to match the Tampa club’s recent increase, $25 per song.
I guess Tampa was field testing & it passed.

I went to Johnson's last night for the first night of my annual Ft Lauderdale holiday.  I arrived early, around 7pm, on a rainy Friday night.  I enjoyed happy hour drink prices until 9pm and got there before the weekend rush.  At 8pm they started charging a $10 cover charge for men, or $20 for women and others.

Every dancer was gorgeous.   There was a variety of gorgeous men who regularly hit the gym.  There were white, black, Canadian, and even a Greek dancer.  One light skinned dancer had a Spanish accent.  Every dancer was friendly with me at the bar and in the private dance area. Several men recognized me from my annual visits.  Only one dancer was covered in tattoos.

Music was pleasant, with plenty of enjoyable songs from the 80s and 90s.  Johnson's knows its audience and who pays, and they cater to that audience.

It was a very enjoyable evening.  I left early (shortly after happy hour ended and as more dancers were arriving); but, I had already spent more than my quota for the night and hadn't slept since my red-eye flight the night before.  Will be back later in my trip after my next paycheck's direct deposit clears!

I believe Johnson's has the best prices for drinks in Wilton Manor.  Drinks not only cost less than at the other strip clubs, they are cheaper than the regular gay bars on the Drive.  Alibi charges over twice as what Johnson's charges for a drink.  Johnson's gets it... Don't nickel and dime the customers; make your highest spending customers feel valued; hire the best looking dancers; and, then, the money will come flowing in.

You get to enjoy the guys on stage and the ones that look good to you...  a dollar or two lets you get up close.  Rub the chest a little bit and maybe a peek at the goods as you stuff a bill into the underwear.  

For those that you reaaaaally like...  it might involve a private dance.  But outside of that, as you mentioned they don't really know how to work a room.  In many cases, it's too busy to work it.  In others, they just hide away until it's their time to be called up again.  

Back in 2022 I may have agreed with you.  But in my last visit a month ago, the dancers were really taking care of me in the private dance area.  Maybe because word has gotten around that I'm a regular during my annual week-long visit.

I was there on a recent Tuesday. First time. It was slow, but there was a far higher ratio of muscular and hot guys to patrons versus what I’ve found in my 30 plus trips to either NYC or LA Adonis or even the old 21 club. Really hot guys. And no “dildos.” The real thing. And I got two numbers. Worth it. PS $20 per private song still.

Yes, no shortage of muscle guys, some of which have competed in BB shows.  Especially this time of the year as Canadians and even some Barcelonans visit.  But muscle guys pretty much throughout the year as lots of South Americans live here.  And as the night progresses, the big boys come out, but I guess that is the same for most clubs with dancers, as I recall from visiting Campus years ago.  Later means more customers and more $$.  On another note, I've not been to Boardwalk in ages and they are still there on Andrews.  But they stopped advertising, and I've heard that they are a very late night club.  But one BB, MonstaMike told me a few years ago that he dances there.

I was told by other dancers that there are 2-3 guys that do the “dildo” trick. I’m told some customers that go into the back room with these guys never realize it. However, other customers come out feeling duped when they realize it was fake.   Why does Johnson’s even allow this?
 

I just stay clear of the “fakes”. I had a great time all three nights. No huge muscle (I was there only on weeknights) but good nonetheless. One notable guy was a 24yr old new Argentine dancer. Muscular with dirty blonde hair and fair skin.  I forget his name…but he was so handsome…in a masculine way. The other dancers kept referring to him as “Ken” cause he was so strikingly handsome.  He spoke very little English but that was no problem as I speak Spanish.

I highly recommend stripper Bingo on Wednesdays at Johnson's.  There's definitely no fakes on that night!  I'll never play Bingo any other way again 😉

I can also confirm the few guys who use dildos in their underwear. its pretty dumb very obvious and gross. there are some really amazing guys there who are hot fun and well endowed and not trying to hustle people so aggressively ..
