This is more of a rant, as well as a question...

This weekend, our state is celebrating PRIDE - we attract thousands of people each year (many from out of state), as it has really grown into a major event over the years. From out cities to our beachfront communities (I live in RI) they're celebrations everywhere, and the hospitality industry smartly uses this to their advantage to kick off the summer season.

The only thing missing this year are... traveling providers.

Every year, there is usually a plethora of traveling escorts / masseurs who are advertising for the weekend (Fri - Mon). It's an embarrassment of riches, and I usually treat myself to some great guys over the weekend. When I meet up with the providers, I always ask if they're busy for the weekend and if the trip to RI was worth it. Everyone of them always answers 'yes' - better than they expected (and they love the fact they can go to our beaches).

So I've been checking out the ads on RentMen, RentMasseur, Masseurfinder  this week and hardly any providers visiting this area (many in Boston, but the celebrations are in RI and I - and my friends - want to hire in RI so the providers spend their money in our local areas, which is positive for event planners for next year). Only a few are visiting so far, and then the few in-state providers are advertising.

Can it be a lot of providers are choosing not to visit Pride events this summer ? Or are they just not traveling as often as they did in years past ? Or are they just avoiding my area for some reason ?

(Side note - a friend of mine lives / works in Provincetown MA year round. Their Pridefest kicked off May 31 and ends this Sunday - he said it's been slim pickings the past two weeks; not nearly the number of visiting providers as in years past.)

It's funny you should mention this. I was looking at Rmass in Orlando today and noticed that the majority of providers listed are actually traveling providers. I did a count, and it turns out that one-third are locals while two-thirds are traveling providers. This really surprised me because I don't remember it ever being like that before. It's quite a shift from what I'm used to seeing.

Maybe because Gay Pride (now "Pride") has become a Disney parade and we are now an afterthough?

I have no supporting data, but it could be attendance is being affected by the warnings of terrorists targeting Pride gatherings.

We go to P Town every summer and there's rarely any providers there - at least listing on RM.

Pride celebrations in June are overlapping in multiple markets, and it seems like the number of parades and festivals in smaller cities are increasing. Perhaps providers who travel to the celebrations chose another locale, either for fun or profit (or a free guest room from a friend?) and will return next year.

Only Adam(superbeef)/Max can be two places at once.

Speaking as a customer, I am avoiding large cities during their gay pride events.  I will depart New York City a few days before its gay pride weekend and will arrive in Toronto just after its gay pride weekend.  I really don't want to be lost in a crowd of young heterosexual women waiting in lines to get into gay bars.

Chasing conventions, events, or pride celebrations is not worth it if an escort has to pay a higher rate for lodging.

Besides  most folks hang out with friends and likely fuck for free.

I was in Amsterdam last year during its gay pride weekend.  I visited Boysclub 21, the local gay brothel, but the selection of boys for hire was limited.  The owner said that he gave most of his boys the weekend off to watch and enjoy the gay pride festivities, since most of the boys were from foreign countries and hadn't ever experienced Amsterdam gay pride.

Different cities have different types of pride parades.

One travelling provider who visits Chicago said he wasn't planning on coming that weekend because pride is short and barely lasts a day here.

I remember seeing a provider in London during pride who reprimanded me for being with him and not marching (the session was a few blocks from the main March). It was sitcoms-esque - I asked if he wanted me to leave, he said he didn’t care but I owed him the donation etc
