Very interesting data. Thanks for providing it. I was curious so I ran it again and now Denver has 21/89 Latin guys. So a little higher now at 23%. Another data point would be to look at guys who speak Spanish. That's actually a bit higher than "Latin" in Denver at 24/89 or 27%. A few "Latin" guys drop off and a couple more guys come up. Latin is somewhat nebulous term. One guy who comes up as a Spanish speaker but not Latin is KevinCol who puts his ethnicity as black but also says he is Colombian. Probably would be described as afro-Latino to me and probably most people. Just might be missing a few "Latin" guys based excluslively on the Latin tag on RM.

Also generally interesting that the two highest Latin population cities have the lowest number of Latin escorts. Maybe people are more interested in what isn't common?

Thanks for this data though. I find it quite interesting.

Who would have thought that statistical analysis would evolve from RM. Life has surprises around every massage table. 😉

If it were just poverty, then we should logically see lots of African or Southern Asian escorts, or even those from war-torn Middle Eastern countries.

When I was in Europe (the continent) I noticed men for hire were mostly from war-torn Eastern countries.  This supports my theory that it is not only the desire to leave poverty, but also having the means to be able to do so.  South Americans travel to where it's cheapest for them to get to.  Same with men from the Eastern hemisphere.  We don't see too many escorts from the interior of Africa; not because there is no poverty, but the men are so poor they have no means to leave.

I was browsing ads in a city that has a low percentage of latin people and spotted a relatively high number of latin men one evening this fall.  So, I looked across RentMen and captured some numbers and compared that to US Census Data for those same cities.

I think I’ve been with the majority of Seattle’s Latin providers!

Just curious to know how do you think their sexual orientation will impact you as a client.

If you're talking about a massage and a happy ending..I'm sure even a gay4pay provider can manage a proficient hand job. When it comes to actual SEX, I can confidently say that they need at least a little same sex attraction to make the session work.

I do, personally find straight-acting men to be sexier...so bexasue of that, I have occasionally run into gay4pay providers. The session is always a bit awkward, no matter how ambitious they are to please. There is always a very obvious line-in-the-sand that gets in my way of truly having a good time.

I’m guessing that with the new travel ban placed on Venezuelan and Cuban citizens, we’ll see a sharp drop on new providers from those particular countries. I have the feeling that Colombia might be next.

Is that why I see TONS of Colombian cam models?  The guys seem to have a hard time getting tourist visas to the US.

The cam business model is pretty awful though. Especially when they work for studios who end up with the bulk of the fees.

Prostitution is also legal to some degree in many of these countries (most of S America, etc), so it doesn’t come with the same stigma that it has in this ridiculously uptight country.

This segues into my philosophy:

Paying cash for sex is not acceptable by the majority. Buying someone drinks & dinner and then having sex after *is* acceptable.  But they’re both exchange of value for sex.

Why can’t we get rid of our puritanical values in the 21st century?

It is happening gradually. It’s hard to expunge norms imposed by the prolific and highly influential descendants of East Anglia who established the New England polities in the 17th century.

Except that there are so many conservatives that want to return us to even stricter values.

True ... Columbia and Venezuela in particular are very socially conservative countries enforcing stricter values.  But I don't see that as the primary reason causing young men to travel away from these countries for sex work in developed nations.

I searched and found this thread on male cam models and much of the content paralleled my thoughts on the topic.  I was watching a group of guy cam model today.  There were four of them and was surprised one of the moderators posted a text stating three of them are "straight" and one is bi.  Watching the play they get into, I cannot process that statement made by the moderator.  Guys able to engage in that level of gay sexual activity is amazing and still call themselves "straight."  They were not sitting next to each other jerking, these guys perform the full gay sexual menu, and do it well!  I need some remedial education on the Colombian, Venezuelan, and Brazilian male sexual flexibility.  Any teachers?
