Preferred Massage Therapist Attire

What is your preferred attire for a massage therapist? I always ask for mine to wear briefs and most are comfortable with that.

In my experience, the masseurs who are more ‘fit’ tend to get naked the second I hop on the table while those who have a bit of a belly or have the ‘dad bod’ physique tend to stay clothed. Either way I never state a preference. It just happens naturally.

I like a slow reveal. T-shirt &/or just shorts to start, with the shirt hopefully off by the time I turn over. And since I respect that I'm paying for a massage and not an escort session, any dropping of the shorts is at his discretion. In which case my discretion goes out the window.

Most clients like me to start in shorts and a vest or T shirt. Part way through I remove the top. Then usually they like to feel me through the shorts or jock. Then by about half way through I’m naked. If you want body to body then it’s best to be completely naked, although I usually leave my socks on because that’s a thing…

I had to google-search what "vest" means in British-English. 🙂 Obviously easier to see your nipples than if you're wearing the t-shirt. 🙂

Ah the perils of a shared language with different words! Vest is 🎽… something I’d wear at the gym.

I saw a client from the US recently where another clothing misunderstanding happened. He arrived and we are talking before the massage begins…I asked him if he’d like to shower before the massage?  He says “yes”, so if that’s the case I usually ask the client to strip down to his underwear and then show him to the bathroom. There’s a good reason why I don’t want them to undress in the bathroom but we won’t bother with that here…I’m just wearing my shorts at this point. 

On this occasion I said “ok John if you just want to strip down to your pants I’ll show you through to the bathroom”. John takes off his shirt and then just stands there. I assume he’s nervous or something so I ask him if he has any injuries etc while I busy myself preparing the table and oil, trying to be as calming and routine as possible so that he feels comfortable to strip to his underwear….but John simply stands there shirtless, waiting for me to take him to the bathroom.

I then say to him again “ok if you did want to use the bathroom please just leave your pants on and I’ll show you the shower”…..but he continues to stand there looking confused at me, making no attempt to remove his trousers. And I stand there looking confused at him….is he too shy to just be in pants with me?…should I get naked to help make him comfortable? Does he want me to undress him (actually that’s something I do…great way to start!)…

Then I realise…he is in ‘pants’ because in US English ‘pants’ are trousers 👖 whereas here in UK they’re underwear 🩲…. 🙄…Turns out he wasn’t shy about stripping down atall, just confused by my language. Should have gone all cockney on him and said “alright mate let’s get a butchers at ya pins then we can get you in the khazi”….

While I normally would enjoy a good slow reveal, at a massage, I am usually face down for most of the massage and if I peek my head up too much, the masseur may comment, so I prefer naked as soon as possible so I can enjoy as much of the views as possible.

I used to wait until I arrived at the masseur’s place to see what he was wearing and if he undressed (or not) while I was undressing. Lately, though, I’ve asked the masseur in our initial correspondence if the massage will be nude/nude. Some guys have responded that they usually start out in shorts & T-shirt but lose them along the way. One insisted that he’d wear gym shorts or a jock throughout; but when I replied that $150 (or more) is a lot for a masseur in shorts, to my surprise he agreed, then undressed completely when I did. One guy responded, when I asked if both of us would be naked, that he is “open and friendly.” I never found out what that meant, unfortunately, as we had to cancel the appointment at the last minute!

I like when the masseur greets me in shorts & T-shirt; then the clothing magically disappears once the massage begins. How they manage that while still keeping at least one hand on my body always amazes me.
