Good for him having some fun…

I do wish that some of these guys who are in the more prominent position, financially and influentially would direct some of that positive vibe into legalizing the profession.

Yeah that's not going happen. Why? Because it would cost them some money in the form of lost deals. Particularly when the current zeitgeist is to refer to any and all sex work as "human trafficking."

Well, "exploiting" is a loaded term which I don't feel is helpful. When I was in the work force, were my employers "exploiting" me?

There's a qualifier in there as "may"

Also, swap out exploitative for unhealthy/manipulative as you see fit.  From previous posters above, it sounds as if Geffen cycles through them as their looks age out.  Hardly, an admirable quality for a stable healthy relationship.

There are many kinds of "relationships". If this is the case...and this is more than a weekend hire ..then it's a transactional situation where he gets some compliant eye candy in exchange for elevating the lifestyle of the eye candy.. I don't see that he's looking for a traditional stable take-me-to-the-grave kind of relationship. So why judge ? He's probably quite aware of what's going down and I'm sure his handsome cum-rag companion knows the time of day too.

It's only un-admirable if Geffen promises these men something then doesn't deliver. If he says "I'll pay you $X a week to be my man for the moment," then everyone understands the deal, and there's nothing wrong. I doubt DG promises these men he'll take care of them for life, then dumps them. Now Dustin Lance Black put a ring on Tom Daley, and that's a different story. Maybe Geffen prefers variety to a "stable, healthy relationship."

If anyone wants to get into serious research about Geffen’s ruthless practices in the music industry and how he helped to transform it, there is a good article in The Independent, excerpted from a full book on the subject. Lots to learn about his shark’s instinct and the fierce competition that goes on behind the curtain in show business. Heartless people can hardly get into a loving and lasting intimate relationship. Geffen just happens to be gay.

Meh, as for Geffen, he's set in his ways. Short term transactional is in a different class than medium to long term transactional.

Folks can catch feelings - grow dependent on another in other ways. Just as there's always a richer daddy up the hill, there's usually a fresh out of college/beefier sugar baby fresh off the bus. Something something leave before it makes you soft; leave before it makes you cold.

Cue the Another Suitcase Another Hall from Evita!

He may not be a child molester, but in many circles, DG is known as a world class asshole and one of the ugliest personalities you'd ever have the misfortune of being around.

And much to his personal dislike, old New Yorkers still call it the Avery Fisher.

Fuck Geffen Hall 😀

I agree with Benjamin

Well, "exploiting" is a loaded term which I don't feel is helpful. When I was in the work force, were my employers "exploiting" me? Was I "exploiting" them? No, we were in a mutually satisfactory relationship. For me, "exploiting" is a term which should be reserved when one party either doesn't have a choice or is a child (or otherwise mentally incapacitated). Some might look on my relationship with my beau as being "exploitative," but we're simply two people who are enjoying each others' company. He's not "exploiting" me because he's young (29) and handsome, and I'm older and without my youthful charm. Nor am I "exploiting" him because I'm better off. We have a choice and have made choices which make us both happy and content.

I love you and your partner Unicorn.  The reason people see relationships between rich man, A, and poor man, B, as inequitable, is because of the answer to the question "where would each one be if Man A pulled out?" The rich man would grieve in his hot tub, and the poor man would scramble to, well frankly, survive.  Looks and youth are not accepted by Citibank, nor clinics, nor Car or Apartment Lessors, as currency.  Only currency is accepted as currency, which the rich man can use to wipe his tears.

Thanks, we did. We're in Luang Prabang, Laos today. Laos seems so laid back compared to Cambodia. And 99% more laid back than Vietnam, which makes even Shanghai and Beijing look laid back. It's surprising how different these places are, culturally. I have told my partner that we should get hitched once I'm not over twice his age, which will be later in 2024. I realize that I shouldn't keep him hanging forever.

you're there at the right time of year.  There's an Aman Resort in Laos, you should stop by there.  Marriage: Congratulations!  That will be wonderful for you both.  Well, there goes my argument :-)

Regarding Geffen, yes back to the OP, I just received this book and my understanding is that this beautiful man was in a relationship with David for some time and that he did Kiss and tell.  I'm in the middle of a few other books, so it will be a while until I get to it, but I'm excited to read it.  He was the star of Track Meet, which is a '70s porn I quite like.

Thanks for that. All those young hotties would now be pushing 80.

DG and Gavin Dillard would've been similiar in age and probably had a real relationshiop.  Of course DG would never touch him with a 10 foot stick now.  Wayyyy too old.

Well, for a senior citizen, he's looking pretty good. Had he stuck with him, one can't expect an old man to look any better:

Some hair dye, a nice haircut, could be quite attractive:

What how many so called  sugar daddies promise to take good care for life?

Also we  don't know what promises might have made by this particular so called sugar daddy

Actually there are still laws that apply to him as well. We're not living in the era of the decline of the Roman Empire.

In fact consider the case of Jeffrey Epstein. It didn't end well for him for "doing anything or anyone he wanted".

I agree with you; Geffen may well have had paid sex with many porn actors, as Jarec Wentworth claimed. He gains nothing from calling attention to this possibility.

Why did you choose Epstein as an example though?  That guy was very careful to pick girls who would not be believed if they went to the authorities. He even had multiple fake passports ready to go.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

If indeed they are formally married, I agree. (I say “if indeed” because all the reports state ‘rumours’ as their source)

My curiosity is about the size of the lawyers’ fees and just how many pages their pre-nuptial and non-disclosure agreements comprise.
