Rent.Men Reviews are Pointless

But there’s the rub. Not all critics are created equal. You admire certain ones. Not every one, and certainly not because they’re film critics. Look – if someone wants to think they’re an expert in hiring guys, fine. A connoisseur. Whatever. I don’t rightly care about that. I care about the actual experience with said guy, and I don’t think you need to have hired a lot of times to know if you had a good time or not. And for that matter, I might actually be inclined to listen to the “newbie” more because it shows just how attentive the escort is to making for an overall relaxing situation, given “newbies” don’t know the ins and outs like experienced guys.

Now you're arguing something else and not what I suggested. You're sating you don't need to have hired a lot to know if you had a good time with one and I absolutely agree with that.

However what may have satisfied you may not appeal to me. I use reviews to see whether the experience described would appeal to me. That is why I read the commentary very carefully. Its easier here in Canada and other countries than it is in the US since the comments are censored on RM in the US.

Another point I would make is that while there are no stats to support it, I think the fee paying clients of Rentmen probably hire more providers on RM than non premium members. As such they are in a better position to make comparisons and offer better assessments in their reviews.

One thing I discount is reviews by clients who are inexperienced at hiring.

I’d reiterate that there are no stats to back up this assumption. Just an opinion. An opinion formed from assuming that because you don’t pay for a membership you’re inexperienced in hiring, it would seem to suggest as well, therefore not worth listening to. If you don’t pay RM, your opinion doesn’t matter effectively.

I have hired a few highly-reviewed people who have been a complete waste of time.  A couple of them have tried to solicit reviews, so I suspect that is how they drive the numbers up.  Bad reviews tend to disappear.  Even I will no longer leave bad reviews after receiving threats from 2 of the 4 people I gave a bad review.  The threats were stupid and irrelevant, but I don't see the point in stirring up trouble just to slap a bad provider with a bad review.  I doubt I'm alone in this.

Beyond reading the actual text descriptions, do you find any value in RM reviews at all?

Well… here in the states Rentmen reviews are pointless because all you can see is five stars one or all of which have been checked to give a basic reflection of an experience that you had with somebody. Outside of this country you can actually see the written parts of the reviews. I don’t know if it has changed over the last few years but, you also could see rates. All of that not being able to post rates and not being able to post reviews and being careful about what you say in your ad are really the and new human trafficking laws that were put in I don’t know if it has changed over the last few years but, you also could see rates. All of that not being able to post rates and not being able to post reviews and being careful about what you say in your ad are really the results of revised and new human trafficking laws that were put into affect.   XXXX

Even daddys reviews had to make adjustments over the course of these last 15 years… A lot of it really started around 2006 when the government imposed 2257 compliance on the adult industry and various escorting blogs and service sites were attack suck as back page, Craig’s list and Madison…

Rentmen reviews, for me at least, have been a useful tool in one regard. Say I come across Provider X, if I’m on a VPN, and can read the text of the reviews, I look for a reviewer with a filled in RM profile, and if said reviewer matches me in terms of likes, stats, etc., I often check who else they’ve reviewed. Then I come here, search the provider(s) to see what say you all, sometimes I may PM a poster for a bit more info, and then make my decision on engaging the provider.

It’s also useful when a reviewer leaves 5 star glowing reviews, then you come here, and read feedback from guys who have met the provider(s) in question, with experiences FAR from glowing. Helps determine legit reviews from fake one.

At the end of the day, it can be one of many tools one can use to determine whether or not to engage a provider.

I would agree that the reviews at RM are worthless, or at least not of great value. This thread was a real eye-opener. It never made any sense to me why almost all the reviews at RM were five stars. How could that be? That would be statistically impossible. Even if a provider was really good, most customers would rate them as four stars or five stars, but never five stars 100% of the time. But now it makes sense. RM removes the bad reviews or anything less than five stars.

I guess if even few less-than-five star reviews make it through the censors, it is an indication that the service of the provider is variable. And the number of reviews is an indication of their longevity or number of customers.

I have found this website (Companyofmen) to contain much more useful information. Thank you to whoever hosts or owns this website. You provide a valuable service that is not offered by RM or any of the other escort services.

They are pretty much worthless except if there a large number of positive reviews. I had a provider show up an hour late, high, and not matching the description or photos. I paid him to leave. I submitted a one star review that was accepted and published by RM. But sometime later the review was simply deleted without any notification to me.

I posted 2 negative reviews, one of them was about this guy, certainly my worst hire ever... after it was deleted I decided to close my account.

Lol I’m calling bullshit.  Just re-read your take then again and ya it’s an elitist take.  “My fatter wallet opinions are better than yours” is not a reasonable take

Agree wholeheartedly for a number of reasons.

Privacy is at risk to rentmen by being a premium member.

@Luv2play, but you have no stats to support that opinion. It’s based off an assumption you have based off they you’d behave. Not everyone behaves the same same way, so your opinion isn’t necessarily reflective of what is. Non-paying members may in fact hire guys frequently and plenty of experience hiring.

Many rentmen users do not want to be "premium" members because the payments made to rentmen cause the payer to lose their anonymity.

The payment amount is small.  It is the fact of losing privacy that many clients will not be premium members with rentmen.

To degrade non rentmen premium members is not logical.

I think we live in two different universes. There are Americans who can't read the comments made by reviewers on RM ( unless they have the knowledge of using VPN) and all other citizens in the world who can see these comments.

I use the comments extensively in my research of possible providers on RM, along with the wording and pics and videos in their ads. If I have a question, I sometimes ask a previous reviewer about his experience. Sometime this has been helpful. Othertimes not.

Generally I have had good results. And I hire a lot, probably more than 90 percent on this forum.

Through some weird hole in the sexual ozone here in the US my updated Rentmen app is allowing me to see reviewers comments now….but I no longer get height and dick size measurements in inches. I don’t mind converting cm to inches in my head but the kg weight measurements throw me off slightly. Ironically the reviewer comments are generally not all that helpful. I stopped paying for the premium service a few months ago when the price doubled and haven’t missed it

I also read the comments and profiles. Those are helpful insights, but almost always from positive reviews. When negative reviews are simply deleted, there is no review to read associated comments. That's the problem instead of leaving the negative review posted and allowing the provider to provide a response if so desired.

I agree thevnegative reviews should aleays be left posted unless they are clearly fraudulent. RM does allow a small number of negative reviews to remain.

I usually won't post a negative review but those times were mostly when I was less experienced and did meet with a few clunkers.

Tjese days I frequently see the same providers multiple times and I have given all of them at least one positive review. I stopped doing multiple ones some years ago with perhaps one or two exceptions.

Contact the Moderators of RentMen and report your issue.  Perhaps your valid concern would be personally addressed.

I, as a Premium Member of RentMen, have found the reviews to be helpful, especially when I've personally contacted some of the reviewers requesting some narrative about the man/men they've reviewed.  In most cases they've responded back via Chat, and their reviewed men gave me a stellar time.

But do remember that "EVERYONE's" experience might not be as yours and vice versa.  I write this because my hot "go-to-guy" received his first two reviews from me.  His client base increased, and on two occasions, two of his future clients wrote to me prior to their seeing him.  Afterwards, one of the two men wrote back and cited that his experience was not completely as the one that mirrored mine, but overall it was not all for naught.

Yes, I like the RM Reviews especially when I can obtain some sort of narrative either from previous clients (the reviewers) or from the narratives that are on VPN or whatever the system is named.  Prior to my obtaining a new computer, I had access on my previous iMac desktop.  Unfortunately, I was unable to transfer data from it onto my new one.

That is my standard approach. I always reach out to a couple of the recent RM reviewers before I contact the provider.  It’s worked well for me. Still can’t figure out how to do the same on rentmasseur.

Does anyone know why this thread is here, in the Deli, which is "an area to discuss providers," and not in Questions about Hiring ("User-to-user help related to our hobby.  Get answers from fellow members and providers!")?  If you alert Moderators (thank you, Moderators!), the COM default reply just says the issue has been addressed, but doesn't explain what happened or the rationale.  (And I get it -- I wouldn't want to respond meaningfully to every little gripe!)

The Deli seems to be cluttered with some threads "related to our hobby" but not about "providers" (this one, "$500/hour", "I pissed this escort off", "Is anyone worth $1000 an hour?", etc.) -- does "Questions about Hiring" not get a lot of traffic, so they're plopped here?  I like reading the Deli so I can hear what others think of specific providers, but some of these topics make me hope:  "maybe the refurb will allow me to mute some topics?"

(Acknowledging:  I can just skip over.  But then again, I can just skip over entire fora that don't interest me, so the fora exist for a reason!)

I am unsure about this assessment of @Luv2play as an elitist's view. I instead see it as naïf projecting his motivation to pay for a membership to all those who pay.

We do not have any data to assess whether paid or unpaid members' reviews are more reliable. As long as @Luv2play argument would exclude outstanding members from posting, I agree it is noninclusive. Elitist has a different nuance.

Paying $240 dollars per year to Rentmen merely to be able to write a review about an escort and to see some homemade video clips of the escort is overpriced.

Most Rentmen clients know that if a review of an escort is not a five-star review, the reviews usually end up being deleted from an escort's account not long after the negative review gets posted.

Thus, where is the actual benefit to a client for paying $240 dollars (annually) to Rentmen?

Non-paying clients hire escorts from Rentmen.

Now that reviews are not accepted from non-paying Rentmen clients, the Rentmen site is missing an unknown amount of critical information that would normally appear in reviews of Rentmen escorts.

To have Rentmen reject reviews of escorts from non-paying members of Rentmen is short-sighted and is a disservice to Rentmen clients.

And as we've seen in the airport CBP facial recognition of providers from RentMen, big brother is making lists. Being on the client list when that shoe drops won't be fun. RentMen may be non-US-based but "firms" are getting that info and "selling" it to the government. (not that the government doesn't probably already know).
