QUESTION FOR ESCORTS:

 

I've seen some of the escorts in this forum traveling across the country.

On the other side, I've seen others who like to stay in their cities at least for work matters.

 

What is it that makes some escorts being more active traveling?

This thread is inspired by one comment of @Jarrod_Uncut on his thread about making connections and friends.

 

But meeting new people while making income on the side is perhaps not the only motivation.

What are the other things that make you travel besides more income and new acquaintances?

 

What are the positives and negatives that you have experienced while traveling?

What are some destinations where you have enjoyed yourself?

What are some places where you would never go, or go back?

Good question! And definitely the type we like to answer.

 

A lot of us travel for a few reasons.

- it gives you the chance to be the new boy in a new city, and newness is a factor.

- it gives clients the chance to see something new (or perhaps build a relationship with someone new).

- if you’re based in a city, it makes clients in that city develop a sense of urgency (“Shawn isn’t always in town; I need to make sure I see him when he’s home).

- it gives you the chance to see new cities.

 

To answer your other question, besides the thing you mentioned, I travel often to see live music.

 

Before the pandemic, I’d often plan my schedule around concerts, especially when I lived in Oklahoma and the concerts I wanted to see didn’t Always come to Oklahoma. But it’s nice to have something to look forward to and keeps me from working too much.

 

There are some cities I love. I love dc and always like going back home to Texas (dallas, austin, San Antonio). @benjamin_nicolas has said it best, but the best cities are the ones you stand out in a little.

 

There aren’t a ton of cities I hate, though cities with a saturated market of providers I stay away from. Why travel there when all you have to do to see someone different is click to page 2 of results?

However the reasoning for travel can vary, for all the ones Shawn mentioned. Some guys may go to the same cities on rotation, or back to back. But I sometimes find that if one travels to a city too often, you may find it gets slower on subsequent visits. Probably considering that there may be guys who see travelers for the "i don't see local guys" reasons. But that may also mean they might not be a regular on every trip.

 

I like to travel to meet friends, and it gives the chance to turn it into a tour. Other events like pride tours and "sex fests" can also be a good excuse... just as long as one isn't overly optimistic. Lot of times, I just travel to wherever my vibes are telling me to go. But this past year I've been only comfortable going within an 8 hour radius, no long cross country trips. I'm not much into flying because it feels limited to me. I have booked week long flights, and wanted to cut it short. Or I may book 2 day trip, and need to extend it.

 

I've learned to never say never when visiting a city lol. There's been places I've swore off ever going to again, only to return 3, 4, or more years later and have a great time. Indianapolis is one of those. I couldn't STAND that city lol. Flakes and racist vibes out of this world. But couple years ago I went twice in one summer, and was busy and had a good time downtown. Still ran into some Flakes, but overall it was a good couple trips...and I've still got the post it note the front desk guy gave me saying he'd like to meet for dinner ?

 

But like Shawn said, there some cities that have consistently proven to not be easy, and I wouldn't advise going to without advance bookings, and extra money already on hand, to avoid disappointment: namely Los Angeles, Vegas, I'd probably say New York, Miami, Detroit, Atlanta, and Houston. All promising markets, but often too dense to go to overly optimistic.

I meant to add as well, 1 of my biggest challenges that I’ve faced when traveling..and clients here have mentioned it as well, when seeing providers. It’s can be a challenge to be ready on time (either at your hotel or to their place) for every appointment, when you’re traveling on a non routine route. Then clients cancel even if you let them know ahead, because they may have planned something AFTER the appointment that usually they don’t mention until the cancellation

 

Then, many clients want to push the time earlier than planned, or come earlier. It lessens the time to get ready before the appointment, when I’m already losing time commuting, sorting luggage, waiting in drive thrus for food, etc.

 

Yesterday I arrived to my hotel at 4:30 pm... which isn’t “late” by any means, but my guest wanted to meet around 3:30-4. He also asked if I could meet sooner, at 2. I had to let him know, that I couldn’t do anything sooner than 4 because I was already pressed for time due to a number of things. He ended up not being able to come today, but I had to explain to him, we can “shoot” for a time, but that doesn’t guarantee meeting at that time sharp, when the day comes. It’s too many variables at stake, to put so much expectation that an escort can be ready and available by a certain time when traveling...unless that escort just happens to be at their local incall place, and can plan time accordingly.

 

And I’ve just come to accept, it’s not my fault or the client’s fault. But it’s still frustrating because the client feels like their time isn’t being valued, and I feel their time isn’t flexible (I notice my free “dates” tend to be more flexible, whereas some clients seem to plan with not as much ??‍♂️) At one point I was getting angry at myself for not being able to be ready on time when traveling (even @Epigonos made a joke about it 1 year while visiting Palm Springs) ?. BUT...I find when I’m in the city, and have my incall place set, that’s rarely ever an issue. Especially if they want to come to me. I temporarily had a private incall studio from December thru earlier this month in January, and the stress level of trying to catch appointments on time was pretty much non existent. I wasn’t late for any appointments.

 

Travel has a way of throwing wrenches into the schedule. I’ve even missed appointments because of complications in the process of checking into a hotel, if the client wasn’t willing to wait (long line, unexpectedly high deposit, rooms not up to expectations etc.). I’m almost considering coming up with a disclaimer to send to every client while traveling: PLEASE PREPARE THAT THE APPOINTMENT START TIME MAY RUN LATER THAN PLANNED. PLEASE NOTIFY IF UNABLE TO ALLOW SUCH WINDOW.

 

But of course, things like that tend to get seen as being “off putting”, so I try to just explain on a case by case basis. Even though I did miss my 1st client today, I was able to gain 2 more clients... and timing wasn’t an issue since they were evening visits. I find most of the issues with timing with travel, come when guys want to meet at the ever popular: between noon and 3 pm. It seems many clients need to meet during those times, and it can be a 50/50 chance of working out because if I’m traveling, usually can’t check into a hotel until 2 or 3 anyway... and I usually like to have 30 min to an hour to get set up.

But wouldn't be better to always have a late check-in on your first day in the new city,

then only book clients starting on day 2?

I think that would even give you some headspace to settle down and relax, so you're not stressed or in a rush.

Well, that's just me. When I traveled I like to do that to relax the night that I arrive and then start my rounds in the morning the next day.

You must also remember that escorts are not sex machines (Well, maybe @Jarrod_Uncut is, who knows?) but human beings in the end.

Anyone would need some physical and mental rest before and after a road trip.

To add some quick experience regarding check-in and availability to see clients:

I generally aim to check-in by 11am and available for appointments starting at 1pm.

During Covid and lower capacity, it's generally been easier to check in before posted check in times. Once you make some rounds, you start to know which areas of cities, and which hotels you can get away with getting in at 9:30am or have to wait til 2:30pm

I have had a different way of handling travelling escorts. Since I live in a small market that is not serviced by too many top notch travelling escorts, I try to be accommodating and yet make it worthwhile for them to see me. As an example, before Covid screwed everything up, I had an escort who travels extensively agree to fly into Montreal to see me on a weekend, for 2 evenings. He was coming from the US and heading back to Europe so he could arrange the air transportation on his existing itinerary. I suggested Friday and Saturday, as he was going to arrive around 4pm on the Friday.

 

He suggested Saturday and Sunday so he could be fresh and ready to give me a good time. I agreed and only arrived at my hotel Saturday in the afternoon. We met at 6, had some great sex, went to dinner, and then parted company at around 11pm.

 

The next evening we repeated the scenario except starting with dinner first around 8pm and then having another escort to join us for 2 hours after dinner. Then we finished off the evening with him giving me another great session that lasted till 1am (he had given a very nice topping to the other escort as a warmup where I got to be the third interactive party).

 

He left Monday for Europe but was happy with having only one client (me) who paid him a low four figure sum for each evening and dinners in great restaurants that added another $700 or so in total.

I love traveling, i love seeing new places and it’s just all around a fun experience. That being said, as someone already stated it’s nice to be “fresh meat” in a new city. I’ve often planned trips around events that I was going to or places I’ve wanted to visit that I’ve never been to before. I’ve also traveled to specifically see clients in other cities. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t and people ghost and don’t say a word. Then you loose and you win some after.

I think touring can become taxing, and if you start going from city to city to city often enough, eventually the traveling may start to feel grueling for me....and I wouldn’t want that for myself. I want traveling to remain an enjoyable past-time for myself.

I like to travel. Before the outbreak of the pandemic, I managed to visit Russia, the USA, Mexico, Australia and many other places. Now I prefer to look for new interesting places in my native Austria. By the way, it turned out to be a very interesting and exciting activity to discover new places in your country. I buy cheap train tickets every weekend and always find new interesting villages or landscapes in the Alps. I think if it wasn't for the pandemic, I wouldn't have thought about such events.

That sounds tedious. Especially considering “the next client” could be the next day or later in day. I try to find ways to keep myself entertained. On my last tour, there was only 1 point in the trip where I was “waiting” for the next client. And I was not thrilled.
 

City to city touring is hard to do depending how long it is. I often find it’s harder to be away from home much longer than a couple  of weeks. It’s almost annoying because there’s always something “back home” that needs to be done.  
 

I wish I could “easily” travel city to city for like 2-3 months at a time. Especially  considering my current markets of Kansas City and Saint Louis are depressingly slow  majority of the time, with the exception of a couple occasional serious booking clients. 
 

I think the longest consecutive time I’ve been away was from the day after Thanksgiving to middle of January 2018-2019. But after that, I didn’t travel anywhere else for like 5 months. I was beat and exhausted.
