I’m clearing a friends apartment who’s in hospice. I’ve found so much unexpected things it’s been interesting to say the least. The porn collection was easy to deal with. It’s the kink gear that appears in various drawers, boxes, and closets that was unexpected for me. I had no idea he was into some of this stuff.

Does anyone know of gay bookstores or websites that buys porn collections? Just seeing if that’s an option.

There USED to be (not sure if it's still there) called naughtybids.com (like eBay for porn stuff).

Jeez, if I die now there will be all sorts of things in my box. LOL (not porn collection - various prostate toys, cock rings, etc.)

https://www.webuyanyporn.com is a London company that will purchase old collections, but recent experience found other friends quite willing to help make items disappear when we had to quickly de-porn friends flats...

In preparation for a move about two years ago, I finally ditched about 100 vhs from the 80's and 90's - classic stuff from Higgins, Cadinot, and those early Falcons FVP. Bad acting, cheesy soundtracks, and great sex. Once they were in the dumpster it felt surprisingly good, like an unburdening. I glanced at a few before ditching - It was strange to look at those guys and realize that, for those who survived the plague, they would be middle-aged men by now.....

very similar experience (and collection).. although I might have kept my original Higgins film "A Matter of Size" (I really am not sure lol).

The first ever porn movie I acquired, in the late 80's, was Higgins' "They work hard for the money" - I watched it endlessly, and I fell madly in love with the three guys in the opening scene. I had never before seen m4m sex acts depicted in such explicit, lush, and close-up a fashion. I think it impressed a blueprint on my sexual psyche that is with me to this day.

Once I realized that I almost never watched a porn clip more than three times, having a collection seemed kinda pointless. Now with so much available online, if I get the urge to see an old favorite, the tracking down of the scene is like a replacement for going out cruising and looking for sex. It becomes a part of the experience.

I believe there is a museum devoted to erotica and porn in Copenhagen. Perhaps they might be interested in some of the items mentioned above here. Then too, perhaps a yard-sale to clear out some of the old stuff no longer wanted might be just the thing for a Saturday afternoon activity.

Can you imagine how much money that amounted to spent on porn over the years? I winced when I threw my stuff out.

Some of my clients who have college aged kids come to mind...One just dropped $20 Gs on rides for both. Even $500 for half an hour with a provider, is cheap in comparison lol.

That's why I'm just like...ain't no time to be selling myself short. Some of these guys are making enough to raise 2 kids on their own, and they're single. I'm not charging nothing less than what I need to cover my overheads and expenses for the week.

I have a massive porn collection, going back decades. And, yes, sometimes I get myself off to some of my old porn. I do miss the days of porn magazines. I plan on keeping them until the day I die. Whoever's living with me when I die can decide to keep or burn it all....

In some ways, gay porn chronicles the evolution of gay desire and sexual politics. Seems a shame to lose those cultural artifacts. Wish we had a gay porn archive that collected and curated this stuff.

The AdonisMale website provides a pretty good archive, at least in terms of print media. It has a downloads section with lots of pictorial magazines (nearly 6,000 currently), lifestyle magazines, etc.

With the exception of a few old Belami type DVDs, I got rid of all non-electronic porn. Everything else is stored on a password protected, encrypted SSD card. Having an SSD card attached to my PC won't surprise anyone. I've been vocal about the need to backup computers in case of a hard drive failure or similar problem. 10 consecutive, failed password attempts automatically erases content from the SSD card. I don't care if people find the DVDs. Everyone knows I'm a single gay man and it might even seem suspicious if they found no porn at all.

I have a bunch of DVDs, Magazines, Catalogs, Calendars... and not sure what to do with them.

I don't want my relatives to find that my porn collection when I die... hehe. Maybe I should give it away before that happens.

What do you think? What have you done with your porn collection? Who will inherit your porn collection?

You could put them up as a lot or separate on eBay. Porn is cheaper these days because of all the streaming sites but it’s an easy way to get rid of them without embarrassment or trashing them.

I would like to donate my porn collection to a library or erotic museum. For any of you with truly unique or vintage material, Tom Of Finland house in LA accepts donations of art and media.

in quarantine I started a collage using old magazines I had, it was fun. So porn collages of vintage material can be entertaining

Man wins lawsuit against parents who tossed $25K ‘trove of porn’

A hot-and-bothered Michigan man won a lawsuit against his parents for throwing out his pricey collection of porn and sex toys.

David Werking, 42, sued his mom and dad, Beth and Paul, for tossing the steamy stash — which he claims was worth $25,000 — while he was living with them in Grand Haven in 2016, according to court papers filed this week.

The couple must now fork over a yet-to-be-determined amount of dough to replace the rare “trove of pornography” and “array of sex toys,” U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney ruled on Dec. 10.

The judge shot down the couple’s claim that they had warned their son not to bring porno mags or movies into their home when he moved in due to a divorce in late 2016.

“This defense fails on both the facts and on the law,” Maloney wrote in the judgement. “Plaintiff is entitled to summary judgment.”

The smut-centric spat first flared up in 2017 after Werking left his parents’ pad and moved to Indiana.

When he asked them to send his belongings, he noticed dozens of boxes of his kinky collection were missing — and his parents later admitted to scrapping it, according to the lawsuit.

“Frankly, David, I did you a big favor getting rid of all this stuff,” his dad said in an email.

Werking fired back: “You don’t have to take someone else’s stuff, and I would like it back, along with the sex toys… [and] 1 long container of smutty magazines.”

His parents also kept some of the porn — described as the “worst of the worst” — in a safety-deposit box because they feared it might be illegal, according to court papers.

“This was a collection of often irreplaceable items and property,” said Werking’s lawyer, Miles Greengard, according to mlive.com.

But ultimately the judge ruled Werking’s mom and dad are responsible for paying back their son for the porn.

“In this case, there is no question that the destroyed property was David’s property. Defendants repeatedly admitted that they destroyed the property, and they do not dispute that they destroyed the property,” the Maloney wrote in the judgement.

Werking and his parents now have until mid-February to file written submissions outlining damages.
