Mainstream Actors Escorting

As I recall, Tony’s response was unexpected. He claimed the escort had mistaken someone else for him.

And to return to the original point of this thread, in 2005-2015 I dated 2 fit, young men who were actors (in TV movies) but supplemented their incomes by escorting. One was in NYC, the other in LA but both told me the same story of sporadic work/income versus continuing expenses. Both operated their supplemental business the same way: getting prospects by referral from existing clients, interviewing new men before meeting, discreet in public but good fun in private, careful about being photographed etc.

This is interesting to know and that this still happens. Were their prices compatible with the usual escort going rates or did you play a high premium like some porn stars charge of even more? Curious minds want to know. I've always entertained the fantasy of helping a struggling actor. 😉

The NYC guy charged in line with (then) top-end rates. We used to meet for drinks before, and I once took him to dinner after, a date…but he treated social time as “off the clock”.

The LA man had a much more variable pricing policy. We went on vacation for 10 days and I gave him $5000, while we had a couple of long weekends in places that he chose and there was no ‘fee’ (but obviously I paid all the travel and related costs). We had dinner together often, but sometimes he paid - especially if there were lots of gay diners as he enjoyed subverting their ideas about a very handsome young man having dinner with an older man.

I met Rupert Everett in Philadelphia to

promote his book . It was many years ago

Wish I new he was also promoting  his ass. To come

Slightly off topic...but...if you had the chance to be with Rupert Everett would you see him as he is today (which is still handsome), as he was in say The Comfort of Strangers, or some combination?

Having found him so very attractive from my first glimpse I'm certainly biased.

By the way, his first book, Red Carpets and Banana Skins, was cleverly written and entertaining. While he mentions his hustling to pay the bills, the characters he describes make the book.

Back in the 90's one of the National Enquirer-type tabloids had an article from someone who supposedly hooked up with John Wesley Shipp, who was starring in "The Flash" at that point. This was before JWS came out, I'm pretty sure.

A dear, sorely missed friend of mine always swore that he picked up Don Johnson from the same corner on Santa Monica Blvd a couple times, always at the end of the month. This was in the early 70s. He said Don was a decent escort, but clearly gay for pay. Don was clearly very attuned to the gay life of that era...didn't I read somewhere he was Sal Mineo's roommate at the time Sal was killed?

Thank you for posting this! I knew it was the play they both were in but never knew it had been recorded! Years later the movie was made with some no-name different actors but still very good.

When I was around 12 years old, I remember seeing the box cover for that movie and not understanding exactly what it suggested and not knowing what the movie was about, I didn't dare read the back of the box, but sensing strongly that if I watched that movie things would change for me, significantly.  I did't watch it until I was in College.  What might have happened if I'd watched it as a kid?  Who knows.

Damn that was intense. After reading up on the plot, watching the whole play with Mineo and Johnson must have have been rough but incredible. I hope it’s recorded and out there somewhere, but it doesn’t appear to be. Hell, I can’t even find an online source for the later film version.
