If I am being kept alive by a feeding tube, I don't care what's in it (and probably won't recognize what the content is anyway). However, if I am healthy but know I am going to die shortly after dinner, I will order the garlic cauliflower appetizer and a fish curry with basmati rice from my favorite Indian restaurant.

Maybe a salad with heart of palm and artichoke in it, then escargots in a mushroom cup, then a nice steamed lobster with butter, served with Jerusalem artichokes, then a café liégeois for desert.

If I were the warden of the jail housing the condemned Unicorn, I would commandeer his last supper and send him to the gallows on an empty-stomach. But I would have a bottle of Meursault to accompany the meal. LOL

I would be happy with everything except the escargots.

Not our last supper, but when I took my beau out for his birthday on our Swiss trip, we had a rather idyllic dinner. It started with an aperol spritz with a mixed salad, then a cognac-flambéd filet mignon of doe with cranberry-mushroom sauce, au gratin potatoes, red cabbage, brussels sprouts, and chestnuts, served with his favorite red wine (pinot noir), and finally a grand-marnier flambéd home-made parfait. He said it was his best birthday ever. 😊

A porterhouse, rare, cooked in a ton of butter.

Served with mashed potatoes and broccoli.

If I can get dessert, McDonald's hot fudge sundae with extra fudge.

I'll die a happy man.

Too many meals like that, and maybe sooner than you'd think... 😉

I recommend the mashed potatoes at a Joel Robuchon restaurant -- the recipe is 50% potatoes, 50% butter, and salt.  They even use Échiré butter from France for its higher fat content (84% vs. 80% for American butter).  No, not health food.  But definitely last meal-worthy.

Fortunately, I will only do this once I know my days are up. ;)
