RM Ad disappearing - advice?

Have any escorts had this problem with RM?

A former escort who I’ve been friends with wanted to restart escorting after 2 yrs. He updated his expired ad and paid in bitcoin but then his ad totally disappeared! Not even “expired” as was before. He complained to RM but did not hear anything. So he created a whole new ad and I volunteered to sponsor it. So I went to his new ad and hit “sponsor”. I shortly get the RM email stating that it was approved, and then again his ad disappears totally! I’ve sent emails and no response. No refund either for either of us. I’d like to call but there is no number. Anyone else have something so bizarre? Normally it seems expired ads stay online for ages not just disappear like these. Any advice is appreciated.

RM is refunding my sponsorship. I’m not sure what happened but who knows.

Sure. As a client I am also doomed to Rentmen. Their offer is way bigger than the smaller websites' and the service is technically better.

 

However, that fact does not mean I cannot or should not support alternatives. You can also publish for free in Mintboys, as you pay only for the premium advertising. You are a well established and already popular escort. You do not need an alternative outlet. Perhaps, it is even against your business' convenience that alternative websites come up widening the offer and posting better prices for similar services.

 

My support for websites like Mintboys and Friendboy or like Traviati in Argentina is not coming (only) from pure altruism. It is in my interest as a client. I want a more diverse market and I want more competition to keep the prices at a reasonable level.

Except in the masseur market where MF has become such a PITA it's market share doesn't matter.

 

From what my friends are experiencing MF harasses it's clients and customers too much, harasses latinos, and provides clients who have no idea what to expect when they arrive. Plus MF is $200/mo while RentMasseur is $40. That wouldn't matter if MF resulted in more money but because of all the hassles it often does not or creates so much trouble the extra bit of money isn't worth it.

I appreciate full disclosure. I agree that competition in the marketplace generally lowers costs, for everyone.

How do you know that, though? 90% market share seems an extremely high number.

That’s obviously conjecture but based off of providers alone on each site, it’s an easy assumption to make. I know someone that works on the back end for RM. They have a very large reach and high numbers for revenue. I’d be very surprised if their market share was much less than what I stated above

I would not make numbers, but I do agree. Rentmen's monopoly is overwhelming, specially in USA/CANADA markets. That is exactly why I actively support alternatives.

@VictorPowers, I assumed you were speaking from experience and that you were using multiple platforms and that 90% of your traffic was from RM. Reading it again, you didn't say that. You said that if RM was 90% you would advertise there. The advertising is not all at RM, so you have options, stud.

I don't think RM is perfect, but it's the "best" option that escorts and clients have to find each other, for now.

Well we all have to recall: back in days of rentboy and men4rent...RentMen was a quirky site to begin with. The little devil icon and spinoff of rentBOY seemed kinda odd.

 

But they did a good thing by changing BOY to MEN. That alone gave them a stepping stone into the marketplace.

RM could drastically improve the user experience…Searching is a headache.

While I agree with you, it is only fair to point out that Friendboy and MintBoys don't have search features.

My understanding is that Rentboy was based in the United States and was effectively closed down by the Republicans in the 2000’s. Rentmen is based in the much more liberal Europe where escorting is legal in most countries that matter in the EU. When I travel in the US the Rentmen site is censored and comments are not available to users as they are in Canada and in Europe. There may also be other aspects of the ads which are missing, eg dick size.
