There's a difference between learning the ropes and stirring the pot. My suspicion is some of the "new members" are simply new or alternate screen names for folks who are anything but "new." Likewise, it seems that many of the incomprehensible and incoherent posts are not made by non-English speakers but are instead made by members who are either attempting to cover their usual writing style or are under the influence of something other than the thrill of living. I can't think of a language that does not have the concept of "syntax," yet some of the more unhinged posts aren't even word soup. They are more like word puree. On the other hand, the members who state that English is not their first/native language are perfectly understandable.

I've never noticed that. Who could you possibly be referring to?? ;)

There are the obvious ones, some legit, some not, but if personal stories are to be believed, then the obsessive nature and repetitive posting is understandable. Some have admitted a lack of an ability to work or get out into the world. If that is the case, then I can see how the Internet becomes your lifeline in connecting with others. The ones I am referring to, while their posting might seem excessive to some, they do get a lot of responses and they are also courteous and respectful. Everyone's got a story to tell...

Some of us are just new to this ;) or some are just here to read and rarely post anything.

Understood. But you don't post the hot messes the OP was referring to. And we thank you for that. :)

Agreed. And I don't think the OP was referring to them, either.

Of course there have been newbies whose only posts were to denigrate a particular escort. After receiving negative feedback on the forum, they often never signed on again. There have been a few, who as newbies, would find threads that had dropped off the forum years ago but they revived it to post an article or picture or joke that had only a peripheral connection to the original thread's subject. I won't name names here, but a few of those newbies have now become regulars (Masters or even Princes!) and they still revive ancient threads, sometimes without much rhyme or reason or real connection to their posts! o_O:eek::rolleyes:

Thanks for the latest posts from the more seasoned members... It helps me understand what's been going on in this forum. I guess I will continue to learn until the day I die. Each head/brain is a vast universe in itself...

Everyone is a newbie at some stage, and when you are everything since the dawn of time shows up as unread. If you're not careful it's easy to scroll through a host of posts and light on some of them and comment without noticing the date it was last used. You can excuse that. Less so newbies who come here not out of interest but on a mission to respond to one specific thing. I roll my eyes when long-standing posters revive long dead threads with only vaguely related comments, but not if their posts are pertinent to the subject of those threads!

I have actually blocked./ignored some newbie questions in my mailbox relating to a massage parlor in Toronto as i don’t know if they are investigators or what not... Sometimes the tone is like “ can you tell me about...” . No pleasantries, no greetings, just demands. Therefore, i blocked them.

I don't know what this person's situation is. However there are many times I will leave this site to go to a dictionary site to check my spelling or how to make a plural out of a word. For instance, yesterday I had no idea if you use a plural for penumbra. I still don't know. And, of course, I check other sources to see if I have my facts right. But I know that unfortunately that really doesn't matter any more. Finally, I often go back days later and realize that after being as careful as I can be I still have misspelled words. I try to edit things so that I do not look too stupid. By the way, do people not pay attention to the auto-correct function that comes up on computers or do you have to do something to be able to use it?

I get some of those too. I do wonder about the influx of "newbies" and who some are. FOSTA.

TruthBTold, you always post with care and we all appreciate it. As to your question, the 'auto correct' spelling feature' can be pre-set for your emails as I have at work and each email will go thru a spell check prior to submission. It will allow you to either 'accept' or 'reject' the suggested change before submitting the message. The other choice is not to have it pre-set to automatically check all emails but to select the feature for each one that you choose to. There are times when it can be annoying when it asks you to change a name or the spelling of a word that you want to be left as is for your own personal reason.

Thank you for the information regarding the auto-correct function regarding emails. I definitely need it and will set it.

Ditto ... and I taught high school kids English for 35 years. As for auto-correct, more often than not it has bailed me out, but it has occasionally created some real gaffes. I've become a more diligent proofreader as a result.

Auto-correct has led to a lot of hurt feelings and worse.

My pet-peeve is it doesn't supply me apostrophes .

I'm not getting out glasses to try to find an ' on a smartphone keyboard. Theyre too small.

You know guys posting on this web site is not an exercise in academic expression. We are not writing doctoral dissertations. I write most of my posts quickly and although I try to use correct punctuation and correct spelling I can and do mess up. I am often appalled when I reread one of my post and find mistakes. Some mistakes, such as you instead of your, are not caught by spell check. In the end it isn't really all that important.

Now as to what is and what isn't strange; that is rather a bizarre concept on a website dedicated to the discussion of escorts. Just about 99.9% of people would find all of us strange/weird. My attitude regarding this site is simply that it is a great place to enjoy but NOT to take too seriously.

What I hate is when I use the correct word; and autocorrect silently replaces it with another correct word but the wrong word.

I don't recall what I was typing, but a very early version of autocorrect changed it to "antebellum." I was not discussing the pre-Civil War period down South, though.

I'm so sorry but I don't know what the psychological implications of an associated press of the comma key will do to a transitional phrase. Is that similar to being shocked by two phases of a three phase sentence?

A transitional phrase is followed by a comma. A transitional phrase is never preceded by a comma. (per the Associated Press and American Psychological Association)
