Storm4U reacted to Shawn Monroe in Covid Omicron Slowdown?
Considering omicron has really only been a thing since early/mid December, if most people are experiencing a decline in business, it’s more likely due to the holiday season, and a general decline that happens right now. Not to discount omicron, but it’s too sook to tell and the holiday causes discrepancies.

I understand where you are coming from, but I do think there is some benefit for some of you.  Perhaps not a huge benefit, but I know I respect you based on how you present yourself here.
if our paths ever crossed, I’d be very likely to hire you based only on what I’ve read on this forum.

Everything @Shawn Monroe said! There is no significant benefit to participating in the forum for us.

If it is important to you that he likes the underwear, then my suggestion is to cash app him and have him buy the underwear himself.
A guy once showed up with 10 pairs of underwear for me to wear for him, and I did not like a single pair, so to avoid that happening to you, it’s best to just let him buy the underwear himself. And yes I think you should compensate him for the time it will take for him to do that.

Don't the majority of gay men suffer from self-esteem issues ? My experience with on-line hook ups is the same. Lots of chatting, planning and then when you get to actually asking for an address, they disappear.  Pretty much the primary reason I hire. I can't be bothered spending the time dealing with dudes who get off by thinking about  hooking up

Yes I do think so…. I’m a masseur, so I think I encounter less flakes than I would if I advertised as an escort, but there are flakes in every service based business. The key is figuring out  the best way to navigate that part of the business in a  healthy way. It’s trick, but I’ve been able to do that, so it’s definitely possible.

I don’t know if my experience is typical but I personally have never encountered racism while I’ve been working. Although, I’m aware you can find racism in any state, and any city if you look for it. I dont tour cities anymore but when I did, I had no concerns about going to any city, I just went where the clients were, regardless of the demographic makeup. I have clients on all ends of the political spectrum. A good client is a good client, so I never judge a city by its politically leanings or demographics. I selected the cities based on which areas would be most profitable for me and never experienced that kind of negativity.

I’m a masseur, and I don’t think you have anything to worry about.  I don’t want clients approaching me in public and based on other discussions in this forum and other masseurs I know, many others feel the same because we are discreet about our massage business. The desire for discretion comes from both the client and the masseur.

He verbalises it more. These problems happen to everyone I think. It’s worse though if your client base is spread about and travel time is a big factor. Clients messing around with soft arrangements is extremely annoying if you’re trying to make plans. I don’t travel longer than an hour maximum to see a client because I don’t need to, London has enough business, so the logistics are simpler.
Example, last week I booked a client for an evening this week. A new client so I put it down as 50% likely to cancel as we approach the day. Then I had a regular client as me for an appointment around the same time. So a dilemma….see the new client who booked first and disappoint the regular or book the regular and go back to the new client to let him know I can’t now make it. My decision was to give the new client the benefit and keep the booking. After all he did book first. So I go to the regular and tell him I’m unfortunately not available but if things change I’ll come back to him.
Sure enough….now I get a message from the new guy saying that “I might have to reschedule because of work…”. That’s all… so now it’s a ‘maybe’ and I’m supposed to hang around waiting to find out. Well sorry, I know with 95% certainty that you’ll cancel on the day. It’s a common pattern. So I’ve told my regular I’m now available if he wants to book. Likelihood is he’s made other arrangements, which is fine, but because of new clients’ messing around I’m now trying to re plan things. If you think you might need to cancel then go ahead and cancel….don’t leave it open “I might turn up or I might not”…that’s not acceptable.

I agree. Hopefully some will read this stuff and be better clients. I’ve only been hiring a short time but in a few conversations I’ve had with some providers- they have to put up with a lot of crap.  There are assholes in every industry, but I think some of the worst people think that because they are dealing with sex workers they can take advantage or even worse, be outright disrespectful. Just my limited view take on this.

Storm4U reacted to Jamie21 in What Makes you STOP Responding to Client's Messages?
I agree. “Hi” is an annoying opening and rarely results in a booking. I do respond because I don’t want to be difficult but if the conversation goes nowhere I very quickly just direct them to my website for answers (there’s an FAQ) and end the chat with something like “if you’d like to book let me know, have a good day, bye” which is usually enough to make them realise I’m not going to engage in a sex conversation or try to persuade them to make up their mind.
These guys are usually either just wanting some chat to get off or they’re unsure about booking in which case I’m not inclined to engage because 9 times out of 10 they’ll book and then not show up or cancel it the day before when the reality of what they’ve got themselves into hits home.
The correct approach is “hi, I’d like to book x massage on the day/time, I’ll pay by card/cash”. Then we’re good to confirm the booking and discuss other details. It’s simple…you see my website, like the proposition, make the arrangements. No fuss, no messing about.

I’m going to add one more thing because this just occurred this evening. If somebody sends me a text that just says “hi” or “hey”, I do not respond because that suggests to me that it is going to be a longwinded back and forth that may not even go anywhere, and it also suggests that he is indecisive, since he could’ve just said, “Hi, Im looking for a 60 minute massage this evening. Are you available between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm?”...all in 1 text. Being direct and saving time is tremendously underrated.

He sounds like a nightmare and the way you describe him sounds like he is a drug user. This may be a polarizing thing to say, but I just think that there is a greater likelihood of trouble with  clients or providers who are drug users. My recommendation would be to leave a review to help spare someone else the trouble. I have never been in a situation where I felt like I was in danger from a client, but I'm always cautious and on guard.

Reminds me of a sociology professor I had who basically said that employers pay employees to set themselves (particularly their emotional selves) aside.  His point was that workers are not just paid to accomplish a task but also to do so without letting themselves get in the way of work.  My favorite escorts have been men who are a good mix of being genuine and providing fantasy.  If someone is too detached, it's very difficult for me to have fun.  I have no delusions that these guys would have chosen to get in bed with me if they weren't working, but a good escort is someone who can create pleasure in the moment with clients and not convey, even subtly, that the only reason they are there is money.
