Provider in Houston robbed me- what to do next
JB_Studio38 replied to + glycine's topic in Questions About Hiring
“The two met at Caesars Palace on Friday, Oct. 13, The victim gave McNally the code to the safe, and she stored her purse there with his personal belongings, including $50,000 in cash and $7,000 worth of casino chips, the report stated.” I’m just rolling my eyes throughout the story reading this. First of all, he trusted a new woman direct access to his money. #1 mistake. Then gave the code and shared the safe, #2. It’s a safe for a reason. And #3 doing it on Friday the 13th, which is just bad juju to begin with lol. I feel bad when people make mistakes, but it also upsets me. It paints sex workers in a negative light which further criminalizes us. But he is every much responsible for this, as she is. He should have never trusted his money around that chick in the first place. And it’s just more sad because men trust White men and women escorts more, and hire them sometimes over Black providers, thinking they are angels. It’s not true. They’ll rob you blind like anybody else. So, hopefully he learned his lesson. But that woman is also foolish, because every casino in Las Vegas has a million cameras, you’re literally being filmed from the time you drive up, to the time you walk into your hotel room. And that can be several hundred feet of walking and recording lol. I learned that from a good poster here @not2rowdy when we used to meet in Las Vegas lol. Matter of fact, she also shouldn’t have stored her purse in the safe at all. Suppose the client got mad at her at the event, ditched her, changed the key card and tossed her purse? This is all stuff I’ve learned from years of experience in the biz. Like I said before, any and everything you can imagine: I’ve had it happen. I wouldn’t trust anybody I’ve just met with personal belongings. That’s another example of: how you can get robbed whether you pay a deposit or not. He would have had better luck just using Venmo. -

And this is the thing; in my experience…most of the sketch situations one can come across, are hookups and cruising for free type situations. This includes Grindr, gay bars, cruising in parks, etc. Anonymity in these situations can be the fuel. Asking a guy to pay, tends to weed out some of the common riff raff in itself. But these days I often notice, people…at least in the Midwest, don’t seem to be as open to going or bringing someone back home. That’s one thing I don’t like about going out, it’s hard to meet someone and then go home with each other. Everybody so uptight out here. I feel many guys out here are afraid of being robbed or hurt if they bring a Black guy home. When I’ve gone out to California, I don’t have that issue. And never accept a burger from a stranger (no offense to a member here who has a clown handle lol). Reminds me of a client I knew who has various taxidermy animals decorating his home. Probably had a shotgun in every room too. Fortunately never felt unsafe around him but, can only imagine what would happen if the wrong escort tried to rob him 🤷🏾♂️ -
Are you in soma as in San Francisco? I could see that, considering too the nature of the COL. I know when I did visit SF, all my bookings were okay with 300+. Part of why I offer tier level sessions, is to give people the option. I know $300 is a lot to pay just for a massage. So I try to still offer sessions for 150/200. It’s not $500 but it helps. I just don’t like when people try to expect that to be the rate for ALL things. At the end of the day, $200 is not a profitable rate for the volume I see. People don’t always understand, $150 is okay if I’ve had 2-3 bookings at my $250-$400 rate, and I just want to offer an easy, not hanging from the chandelier type of session. $150 is not something I’m going to leave my neighborhood, drive to town, or possibly get a hotel for if that’s the only call I’ve gotten all week. But some cities, specially small market towns: they’re stuck on the 2001 rate of $100/$200 forever. And I know the whole country is annoyed at prices going up for everything, some even taking it out on sex workers by boycotting us: even though we have nothing to do with it. But, we’re not immune. I’m even trying to do my part, by lessening my expenses so I don’t have to charge clients too much. I still have older car with no car payment, I’m booking affordable hotels, I’m not renting the most expensive apartment. But it’s costing me more by default, just due to less people booking. My expenses stayed the same, bookings went down 🤷🏾♂️

Right, but my thing is this: I feel on this board; for obvious reasons, people take the clients point of view faster than the other. And I know if this were a grade school (and by no means relating what we do to minors, BIG disclaimer lol), you’re probably the “lenient” teacher. The mean teacher doesn’t take bullshit from anyone (and no I don’t want to be a teacher, atleast not for anyone under 21 lol). I’m not mean but, similar to a teacher I had from Toronto: The kids knew they couldn’t get over on him because even though he was nice, he was not going to tolerate the nonsense. I would like to turn the tables a bit: what if an escort contacted a client, say: from seeing them view their profile. Escort says verbatim what fake client said: “hey I would like to see you blah blah blah and I’m staying at the Hilton hotel in blah blah city. Would you like an appointment tonight. If so, how much are you willing to pay?” And what if after client replied back, escort doesn’t respond? How would a client feel about that? And then 2 months later, escort contacts client again…no mention of ghosting on the last inquiry, only to do it AGAIN. Am I supposed to just sit back and say, “oop, it’s just inquiries”. And the audacity of him to then say, “I should have gotten the hint that his schedule changed”. It’s no excuse for that shitty behavior. I know some people can just brush it off and move on but, when I’m already dealing with similar shit multiple times a week…I don’t have patience for it. And then he wanted to say: “I’m blocking you”. Well by all means, do me a favor! I don’t want people who think it’s okay to ghost and not respond, contacting me anymore with fake bookings to begin with. I feel this is partly why ” potentials “ get away with their bad behavior these days. Maybe other providers don’t hold them accountable like I do. Many seem to be shocked and surprised. Yes, I am going to call them out for flaking. I’m not a customer call center. They already know a lot about me before contacting. Many of the flaky inquiries come because like you say: the chronically disorganized, etc. I even have clients who will admit, “I know I flaked last time, or “sorry for being flaky”. I respect their honesty and acknowledgement and willing to give them another chance. I don’t respect those who do it again and again and feel they did nothing to inconvenience , or make it seem like I’m not owed anything. Thanks much for telling your side! That compelled me more to not be FOMO about my decision. Lately I go from having my number up certain times of day, and taking it down during others. The kicker is, I have a separate ad phone…so I can technically turn off/silence my ad phone at any given time. But even just responding to messages I do receive, having a 2nd phone isn’t enough. And I don’t want to leave all the setting up to my booking assistant. He mainly just helps with lodging, safety, travel, reminders about bookings, etc. However, I’m at the edge of basically giving him access to handle all my initial booking requests. But I feel it’s only fair the client gets to reach me directly. But the abuse of that is wearing thin. So, I may remove my number if I’m busy with projects, family or friend’s outings, etc. I’m just still old school to where, a text or call would come thru and save the day. Unfortunately I don’t have it in me to take calls out the blue anymore. I sometimes worry I’m missing clients, because I used to answer the phone that way. But unless I’m in a hotel room or on tour, I just don’t have the inclination. A text is the initial “hello I want to book” I prefer. I don’t mind talking on the phone, but I need to do it when I’m ready and have an appointment.

Based on what he said, it wasn’t neither of the above…but rather that his schedule changes at the drop of a dime and yadda yadda yadda and that’s why he couldn’t get back. Which…has nothing to do with me or my response time. Anyone who sends an email should not anticipate or expect immediate availability based on that. It’s simply not the platform for that. If he wanted ASAP attention, he would have done like one of my good client friends on here has done previously: sent the deposit, got my attention, and then texted to inform that deposit was sent. You don’t have to keep making excuses for someone’s lack of courtesy. I’m also not going to take the blame for someone else’s failure to properly use the available features of contacting me either the day prior or with reasonable notice. Why is he emailing me at 8 a.m., is the question I want you know. And I specifically remember that week he contacted: Yet another client in that town contacted me a day prior, requested a session via text, sent his deposit, and all was well. So it’s not a race of who responds the fastest. Some people are just full of shit. I know that’s hard to fathom, but it is what it is. That’s why I ask deposits. And again as I’ve explained to someone else: my particular market is not conducive to being an escort. Just because I mention a number doesn’t imply lack of interest. I often have to turn down many bookings because they want to pay me a rate that escorts used to do back in 2002 (before I even was an escort). If I were to charge $100, I would probably have more than 1 client this month. Problem is, $100 doesn’t make me any money…and lot of the $100 clients are lousy planners, flaky/last minute, wait two years between contacting, etc. I’m not just some guy trying this out looking for my next fix. I know my worth, and what I bring to the table. Unfortunately, some markets are infiltrated with cheap opportunistic guys who don’t want to pay for s*x. They’ll spend $80,000 on a pickup truck, but won’t give $300 for an experience.

Well that may have been a case of: why use RentMasseur email, instead of texting me directly (and this is even with my number being up at the time), if the booking request was time sensitive? I did my part by responding back, he didn’t. Then he waited from August until October to get back to me with a 2nd booking request. So for me to reply the next day is pretty generous compared to his 2 month delay. I also replied back the same day the 2nd time he contacted me, no response. First he emailed and then texted me. That’s why my booking assistant was like: why the fuck didn’t you reply back after sending him a booking request? That’s just shady and sketchy all around. And he didn’t even say, “Hey I tried to connect with you in Tulsa back in August”. It was simply his sending me a lousy email and text on the day of, trying to request a booking in a whole different town. If he was really invested, he would have put more effort in reaching me the day prior or so. Which doesn’t require much effort, just courtesy. Which he failed to give me, instead wanted to argue about how busy he is. Goodbye 👋🏽

When I receive a booking like that, I usually know it’s good to go. However, some of the ones I mentioned just say something like “This morning” or “tonight”. Not necessarily specific times but, many of escorts will often think, “oh great I have a client tonight”…only to have all of the above go on. I still say RentM should start letting us write our own message in the phone number section. The generic, “my name is Jarrod, say you seen me on RentM” needs to be replaced with something pertinent to the hour and day at hand. Then again, this is why I have my own site with all those details. I’ll be waiting awhile if I waited for other sites to update their features.
-
Funny you mention this because, there’s a former escort who told me he went into fleet sales. And I’m “almost” considering going into car type of sales myself since I know the automotive industry pretty well. But…I feel car salesmen get a bad rap, and idk if I want to go into another industry that relies on commissions. If I do, I would want to select a brand that I know I wouldn’t have an issue selling to the market it’s trying to sell to lol.
-
Okay I was with you, until you had to come off a little presumptuous in your last 2 sentences. Please don’t go there with me 😑 I never said I only see one client a month. I meant I’ve only had one ACTUAL booking in person, this month. That doesn’t include my website content sales, nor clients I already have all around. It’s actually been more like 5-6 clients I could say I’ve seen, in the past month to DATE. Still not as many as I prefer, but October has been slower than any I’ve ever seen in my years in the industry. It’s just been the perfect storm: new war brewing under already tense inflation and govt. shutdown concerns, then add more guys popping up on RentMen and RentMasseur in small markets that used to have only 3-5 guys advertising: now there’s like 20. All my other regulars and potentials are either out of town, don’t have the funds, or too busy with work to have sex 😔 I also seen this coming because, my only main regular in town cut me off earlier this year, because I wanted to accept an invite to a Saturday night event instead of hangout (aka, fuck) at his apartment: There was plenty times I told myself, if I didn’t have him as a regular I would be getting hardly nothing out here. At the same time, I have a right to make my own decisions. If that’s hard for someone to accept, they have the right to feel that way. So don’t always jump to pointing the finger, unless you’ve actually done the appropriate research behind a particular matter…And have a better solution other than “energy”. Save that for juju and horoscope talk. My thing is, I don’t just simply see them as “just” inquiries. We’ve had this discussion around here; how many times are people looking at ads 100 times and don’t even send a message? That’s what I call an inquiry. And they can look 100 times if that’s what it takes for them to book. The problem comes when they then reach out, but neglect to follow thru. And sure to them, it’s just an inquiry. In their small world. But if that’s the case, why is it that I can easily find out what other people say? Are they putting too much investment in the inquiry too? And this same client contacted me yesterday. Viewed my ad a few times, then called me (I don’t answer calls for this reason, which I specifically stats in the ad that he didn’t read and/or ignored. I need to check them out before I just start engaging in conversations). So is it JUST an inquiry? It’s not. It’s people who don’t actually respect provider’s time. They assume we have “other clients” who will pick up the slack if they cancel. Meanwhile they expect us to have it all together: a place to host them, a haircut to look good, great smile with expensive dental treatment, and a luxury car to get to them, filled with $4 gas (it’s actually gone down a little bit close to $3 in my area…but that’s basic premium that will cause lower performance and poor mileage in the type of cars I drive). Well how the fuck can I afford this stuff if 75% of them are sitting around playing bullshit games and not even trying to plan anything ahead of time, and then not responding when I do let them know I can accommodate? @Jamie21 I won’t say you’re playing devils advocate. But I think these guys know what they’re doing is inconsiderate. It’s called, conscience. Do they have one? If not, they need to get into therapy WITH ME since some people seem to think that’s the answer for everything 🙄

Dahmer? Extra precautions after watching it?
JB_Studio38 replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
What gets me the most is, and this isn’t just clients: guys who be like, “I don’t give out my number until I meet someone first”. So we’re going to play this game where you walk in, check me out, and then walk out or send me away? No thanks. And it don’t even have to be anything dangerous on the scale of JD. But anybody who can’t show a number or does anything that obscures who they are: is likely up to no good. Either they are going to not answer the door upon arrival, or they may rape someone , not pay/under pay, steal something on their way out the door… It all translates to: I don’t want you to know my number/name/etc because I’m trying to conceal something. Question is, do I want to find out what? Probably not. -
Dahmer? Extra precautions after watching it?
JB_Studio38 replied to marylander1940's topic in Questions About Hiring
Well I’ll say: I’ve definitely come across some “Dahmer-ish” guys who could have hypothetically been someone like that. Loner, attractive White dude who has a thing for Black guys and living in an interior corridor apartment in the city: more common than you think lol. But then there’s more recent stories such as: the Michigan/Grindr Cannibal dude. At the end of the day, other than the fundamental security and screening methods that I already have in place: I wouldn’t see watching that being a reason to suddenly enforce extra measures. I feel that was during a time where even internet meets were considered risky, and lot of people were crazy (like how they are now lol). Nowadays though it’s the mass shootings: “The serial killing phenomenon in the United States was especially prominent from 1970 to 2000, which has been described as the "golden age of serial murder." The cause of the spike in serial killings has been attributed to urbanization, which put people in close proximity and offered anonymity.” -wiki However, it would be a good reminder to have SOME protective measures and, a reminder to clients why some providers may ask stuff like: Name: Age/Basic Describe: City You’re In: Yours or My Place Website 1st Seen: It’s amazing how many can’t even get past those questions. Or they’ll answer part of it then leave the rest blank. “I seen you on RentMen, my name is Jake from State Farm”. Okay, but that still leaves out question #2 and #4. You’re now a 🚩 in my book. I’m going to see how far I can go, before you 🧗🏾♂️lose footing. -
I know…but I should have had about 10. I’ve literally went thru about 10 appointment requests since September 30th that I should have gotten, but only booking I had was a MintBoy 1.5 hour session from a client visiting. Others have been reaching out requesting appointments, and then disappearing off the planet 🌎 when asking them to confirm or do anything. Many of the bookings are expecting me to host NOW, for them as a complete stranger nobody with no picture and no deposit, and I have it outlined clear how I need that to be confirmed. Main reason is because I’m not on tour, and the home market I base in has never been a favorite of mine to begin with (won’t go into details about how this ended up my home base though). Ever since inflation hit, many of the regular dudes have disappeared, and lot of new clients have been sketchy and unreliable. Idk what it is, but many from RentM seem to be flakes and unreliable lately. I’ve already mentioned where 2 regulars in this area who were fine with $250 previously, but then started making like it was too much for them. They were trying to justify only doing $200. Meanwhile I’m not immune to inflation, and now getting fewer bookings. And technically they were already getting a discount for the time spent. I’m getting lots of hits to my ads, but it’s been hella slow. Meanwhile I’m responding to inquiries and texts, most are just weird. Or at the very least, non of them can host and they always want to meet at a short notice, limited time of day. Seems they can’t plan or think ahead. It’s not me that’s the issue, it’s the area. And it’s the Rent sites not really doing enough, leaving me to do all the legwork of screening and booking. And as you can see: no matter how prompt and polite I try to be, there is a lack of conversion going on out here.
-
I’ve pretty much reached point where I’m about to no longer display number on the 2 main Rent sites. In past couple weeks, I’ve had lots of inquiries…but haven’t had but 1 booking this whole month. On top of that, the effort to screen all these messages is becoming way more work than I’m getting paid. I’m trying to set up bookings with people, who are not replying back, not confirming as instructed, ghosting, not answering questions. Like why I need to keep my number up, only to be more frustrated than what I am…dealing with people who can’t keep their word or show little intent on actually following thru. Or they show no responsibility or acknowledge that they at-least put the “expectation” of a booking happening. They just figure, “oh I’ll ghost but I didn’t make an appointment, it was just an “inquiry”. That’s not true. Like for example, look at this person who has ghosted on 2 occasions, but then couldn’t take a single iota of responsibility nor sent anything out of courtesy: and then 2 months later…(as if it never happened): And then this is him when I had my other assistant reach out to him to explain why he owes payment cancellation fee: So it’s like, not only do I have to deal with things already being a bit slower than usual: The disrespect and level of inconsideration from these guys is appalling. How do they not see why this is shiesty as hell? And regardless of what his job is: that has nothing to do with him contacting me asking for an appointment, and then running away TWICE, on ghost. Not even giving me the courtesy to let me know he couldn’t make it (which wouldn’t make a difference as: a cancel and a no show are both annoying occurrences). Like I’ve said before, I’m not getting paid enough to keep dealing with the nonsense. And some of these RentMasseur potentials only want to offer $100/$150 max and want way more than what they initially ask for. I am simply going to post my site, and have my number included on there. Leaving my number on the platforms just seems to invite a lot of people who aren’t invested, and who are just kicking tires and playing games. I need real people who actually going to read and abide and be serious when they reach out ✌️
-
I only say that because: most weren’t like artistically nude. But just a collage of dicks at various angles and backgrounds. It may look good on a site called gayporn.com (I’m just making that site up but I’m sure it exists lol), where it’s professionally shot 📸 and what not. But not so much when you’re trying to win potential clients. That’s true, and I get that on a 1 on 1 scale. But the big picture is, apps like that have robbed us out of clientele to a degree. I know this being true because, I used to have way more clients before it’s inception than I do now. And they’ve barred us from being able to really market to them if we wish, without getting banned in 10 minutes. Even though I’m aware many use both, and some clients use it temporarily until they find a fuck buddy. And then if that doesn’t work out, they come back over to us 🙃
-
That may be so but, I rather them rule than for Grindr and these other apps who have actually robbed us out of our clients, and refuse to give anything in return. Whatever RentMen needs to do to stay in business, I’m not opposed. Just as long as it doesn’t turn into a “dating app for wealthy men” lol.
-
That’s why it’s always important to never put too much stake in one advertising platform. I’ve seen it with Craigslist, Men4Rent, Rentboy, Adam, Backpage, HourBoy, and now RentMen. Every site is bound to change or do something different than what we’re used to, and it doesn’t even surprise or scare me anymore. If anything, I’m just grateful the site is still up at all. I’m not “glad” that they removed open nude pics (and in some ways the site was starting to look trashy looking at a grid of 20 different dick shots, and only served to add more fuel to the fire that is Timewasters and lookie loos): However, there needs to be an incentive behind it. Many people aren’t going to be happy having to either send pictures or do without. But if someone doesn’t have a website, I would advise people to start signing back up to Adam4Adam, and then let that be the “alternate” platform for communication and dick pic unlocks. However, it’s not for the faint of heart. The amount of Timewasters on the site has surged. And barely even getting clients from it lately. My profile expired and I haven’t renewed it simply because I can’t be bothered right now. RentMen chat is also an option, but it’s too vague on the client side. At least on Adam I can see their physical description, location and age without even seeing a photo. RentMen requires us to fish for the info. However as I’ve mentioned, RentMasseur hasn’t been allowing open nudes for as long as I remember. Yet it still has a big following and viewers. No nudes but rates are allowed. Perhaps RentMen is working with that solution: bringing rates back, removing nudes. But I can’t read their mind on what they are planning to do necessarily. What I would like for them to do next, and save us all unnecessary time wasting…put in a message where it says “call me” and let us write something pertinent they need to know before reaching out. Too many out here are contacting clueless: either they’re calling when I say text only, asking for incalls when I’m not hosting, not into deposits even I say I require deposits, thinking I’m in a city when I’m not in that city: for fucks sake RentMen let us educate these people with a short note before they contact us, because many never seem to read the ad beforehand lol.
-
Which is great, like I said. OR: The sites can just be considerate and not be shitty. I personally don’t believe decrim is the knight in shining armor that we’re waiting for. It’ll be great if and when that happens, provided there’s no strings attached. We need to “policy” ourselves and also communicate. Write to RentMen. I write to RentMass and RentM several times a year with my concerns and questions about what’s going on with the site. We don’t need to just wait around for a White man 👨🏻💼 or Black woman 🧑🏾💼 in a suit to give us “approval”. That’s not making it about race but just saying, like…we don’t need decrim, legalization, any of that shit. We also don’t need their rules and regulations running the ship either. We need respect, freedom and proper self policing. Just like being gay has moved past “decriminalized” and now is just an accepted way of living. That’s all I want. They can keep politics out of our pants lol.
-
Btw, just found something that I’ll have to start sending next time someone asks me for full service escort, and only wants to pay $150-200. Because, some people seem to think $150-200 is the best rates for a provider to charge, otherwise it’s “too much” 🤦🏾♂️ This is starting from around when RentMen first came onto the market: And then…

Deposits and when are they ok to ask for it?
JB_Studio38 replied to Eisold78's topic in Questions About Hiring
I wish I could help you understand this but the only understanding is, they’re cheap. 1 or 2 guys scammed them, with 0 reviews and probably didn’t even show their face, just a dick sitting on a toilet, and now every provider on RentMen is a scam. They want to sit back and let you do all the work for them, while you give them the “option” to keep (or not) their end of the arrangement. What I would say each time someone says what you said is: “I’ve also been burned and scammed as well, and I pay $79+ a month to advertise on the site you viewed me on. If you’re not able to pay the deposit, you’ll have to pay/book the hotel and travel for me.” Or if they are local add: if you cancel and I meet without a deposit, there’s a $75 cancellation fee you’ll need to bring to me. Watch the flakes run for the 🏜️ or watch them meet you in a parking lot and bring the money. But I got tired of fighting and bill collecting from clients like that. It’s too stressful, and ruins the relationship (that was never had because they never made it to first base in the first place). Rather just get deposit ahead and if something comes up, at least I get something for my effort. I agree up to the extent that it almost sounds like the “if you don’t vote…you can’t complain”. I guess if you do vote and don’t win, you can do what a certain group of people, who thought a certain political figure “told them” to do, I guess 🤷🏾♂️ I don’t think there’s an answer to/not to complain. The ultimatums presented don’t really give much solace to the fact that: as you said, there’s a risk in both. Taking deposits may take a hit to one’s income , not taking deposits may mean being stranded or out $400. Non of that is something someone “shouldn’t” complain about. I think instead of playing devil’s advocate, we can talk about what are some ways a client can properly verify a provider before sending deposit and/or get money back from someone IF and only IF, they didn’t show and out right ghosted. Or we can talk about why clients shouldn’t be flaky, educate them on how to arrange bookings and not fear providers asking for a deposit. Perhaps educate providers on WHEN it’s necessary to take a deposit, so they can avoid being stiffed or stood up. If a provider is spending money to host a client (hotel/air bnb): get a deposit. Doesn’t matter if it’s an incall or if other clients booked that day. If you’re traveling a distance that could be inconvenient if a client cancels, get a deposit too. Trust and believe when I say; every situation you can name: I’ve had it happen. Every situation. All of the above. -
Deposits and when are they ok to ask for it?
JB_Studio38 replied to Eisold78's topic in Questions About Hiring
You would surprised how many lookers DON’T read ads 🤦🏾♂️ like I literally have it in writing, in my ad and still get people talking about “cash only”. I even had to go as far as removing my number, and making sure they clicked my website and understood. I think some of the inquiries are just straight up scammers themselves because it’s like, how do people manage to contact me when my number is removed, and still act like they didn’t know I asked for a deposit?? 🤦🏾♂️ You’d be surprised. Had a client last month in Columbus who wouldn’t even send a deposit for a $400 visit, even though he knew I had to travel from St. Louis and stop in Ohio to meet him, on my way to DC. And the kicker is, he wanted me to host which means spending hotel money out of my pocket. But he was more than happy to write me a whole letter about how interested he was, and his prostate issues 🤦🏾♂️ People like that are the real scammers. All he has to do, is not show up: and I’m out of hotel money and possible other work. Luckily enough, I booked a different client in Cincinnati who did send a deposit. Maybe they do that because they don’t want to lose the client right up front. So they probably rather wait to see if they can get them to commit beforehand I agree except, even if someone did add the deposit: hotels do it all the time, and get away with it. (didn’t take long to find this and it’s just an example). Yet many guys expect us to travel to a city AND pay for a hotel, along with possible fees and deposits, before getting cash in hand. How is that fair (not questioning you, just the overall principle). So in some cases, the deposit could be added by an escort for that reason. How is it fair for a provider to spend $100-200-300 on a room, and then have that amount subtracted from their earning…Unless they are seeing multiple clients, which these days seems uncommon unless in the ideal market 🤷🏾♂️ Bingo, 100%… and people and clients need to just understand: IT IS NOT FREE TO BE AN ESCORT. Sometimes I just want to tell “cash only” guys, “take that cash and shove it up your ass”. However I know that would be unprofessional and rude, but it’s just the principle. People can’t reasonably expect that a provider is going to always be willing to shoulder the full burden of risk: commuting and/or booking accommodations on the “hope” that the client will show up and they’ll make back their expenses. The escort is generally the person with the greater need for money. A client may not want to be scammed and lose $50-$100, but an escort stands the chance of losing hotel ($75-$250 on average) plus, PLUS…PLUSSSSS, the payment from the client AND from potential other client. So a cancelled/flaked session may cost an escort $90 hypothetical hotel+ $300 hypothetical rate = $390. At a Loss. What escort is asking for a $390 deposit to cover that potential loss? Every time I think about stopping deposits, someone does something else to make me keep asking them. Someone who can’t understand why a provider with a website, multiple good reviews, established in the biz for years is asking for a deposit: the person is a scammer, potential scammer, or likely scammed a provider in the past. I even had a regular who was anti-deposit, he admitted to booking a popular provider for two hours, who was visiting Kansas City and cancelled on him to see me instead. I told him, I appreciate it but: I don’t normally condone stiffing another provider. It’s 2023. Things change. Businesses change. People used to pay cash to cabs: look at Uber and Lyft. Clients who can’t get with the program are going to frustrate a lot of providers, and be using their own right or left hand (or mouth if they can get that far 😆 And for providers who take deposits and don’t show: that can happen with or without deposit. I have seen/heard escorts scam clients right before their eyes, even with cash. If someone really wanted to rip a client off, they could take your cash and gun you down or have someone ready to jump out the other room or closet. So it’s no fool proof method for not being ripped off. The whole concept about not sending a deposit being safer, is just ludicrous and ignorant. The opposite is true. If they wouldn’t walk around with cash normally for safety, they shouldn’t use cash as a safety mechanism because they “been scammed before”. I should say, “well I been robbed before so, I don’t walk around with cash, you need to pay with etc etc” I think people who say that anyway are just full of crap and won’t show anyway. They know they’re playing games, they aren’t fooling me or anybody else with the nonsense paranoia. -
100 percent. And people just have to accept that some providers will ask a deposit. Doesn’t mean it’s always a scam. If someone is going pay a provider anyway: no need to put up a fight about sending one if the person proves to show legit. Now, I’ve heard of situations like from a client of mine: a home builder company was asking him something like THOUSANDS of dollars for a deposit to build on the land plot. They weren’t going to spend their money, they needed him to front it. He was talking about this project for awhile, but ended up backing out. Even had the blueprint and everything. If I were that builder: I woulda been asking for deposit from day 1, if I knew it was something I needed. I’m sure there’s ways for clients how to do their own “screening” on someone, but that’s not in my arena.

You’re right. I had to fact check that and go back. I called him first because he was asking to meet that night, and I since he was clear across town I had needed to get a response soon. Then he called me like 30 minutes later. I guess it seemed like 10-15 minutes including the texts that were sent. The actual time was more like: Of course, he didn’t book that night or the next like he said he was: and now he’s blocked and added to the bad list along with the other reports he has too ✌ In fact, since I only stayed on the phone for 4 minutes: I think it should be stated 😂 It’s especially tricky when I say, “well okay I have to get going” and then they somehow slip in another question or sentence. And who even questions that anyway?? It’s a reason why the show on MTV called catfish is still on air, tons of stories where people have spent months chatting with someone and haven’t met yet. Idk why someone would attempt to “ridicule” someone who has spent more time on the phone than necessary. -
I’m almost thinking about moving to New Orleans for the season. I had a good time when I was there, and was busier with appointments than I expected. I’m just not feeling my current State at all. And St. Louis is kind of like the “Midwest” New Orleans (even has a Mardi Gras as well)…but it’s just not popping. I was a hit in New Orleans for a few days. I liked the steady visitor traffic and even the locals were eager. Only 1 person didn’t want to do a deposit, but he still showed up. I told him: meet me in front of the hot dog 🌭 restaurant lol. I didn’t get to see it all this trip, but I did want to check out Metairie a bit more…at a bartender’s advice. Even though I liked the city, it’s embodies everything “ Big City south” and with that comes racism, crime, poverty…in sections. And the open hand drinking I love: but it definitely brings out the crazies. It reminded me of Las Vegas the most. I happen to know a friend who goes there often, who can help chaperone on future visits. And I was already making new friends at the Phoenix gay bar lol.
